  1. Great game last night. So huge to get a win on a night where the outside shots weren't falling. It will be interesting to see how MN adjusts defensively after getting destroyed in the paint. I've got a feeling we'll need to make more 3's the next game (with plenty of great looks) so hopefully got that poor shooting night out of the system.
  2. I can't believe this is the tape these morons released when charges haven't been dropped. You truly can't make this kind of idiocy up.
  3. I'm pretty sure it's his hand/wrist from the cross check. I've seen chatter to that effect (speculation broken finger) which would make sense that he's skating but not practicing. Probably because he can't grip a stick (or doesn't want to while injury healing). Whatever he was dealing with before seemed to be more in the hips as he didn't have his burst. Maybe the time off has healed whatever he was playing through if we can get him back with this injury but who knows. They acted like Hakanpaa was a possibility for the Vegas series yet here we are and he's still not skating.
  4. On one hand, I hope we don't have storms hit that fuck up my commute home from downtown today. On the other hand, if we do, I'm hope it's right around the time the Edmonton plane is starting their approach and they have to circle Dallas another couple of hours before landing.
  5. Your post 1704 was essentially comparing U.S. protests to Israel with the implication that U.S. protests aren't that over the top comparatively. It's apples to oranges from a "skin in the game" perspective. Stop pretending you are more objective in your views than the posters you call out.
  6. I don't think you can really compare whatever protests are going on in Israel to the dorks on college campuses that barely have any idea what they are even protesting. I mean those in Israel have just a tad more skin in the game than the purple haired loser going on a 12 hour "hunger strike" or the counter protesting frat bros singing the national anthem.
  7. Louisville's DA didn't want to waste his time in the spotlight. These idiots better play ball and make this go away as quietly as they can. I'm sure patience will run out and some point. Scheffler's attorney can with a snap of the finger get aggressive and put the spotlight directly back on these idiots.
  8. He skated but didn't practice yesterday. I've seen rumor/speculation about it being a finger/hand issue of some sort (with speculation something is broken). He hasn't been on the ice in front of media I don't think which is fueling some of that. If he can't go Thurs (10 days post injury) I'm starting to buy into that. Hopefully whatever it is heals quickly and/or we keep playing long enough he can return. But if it is something causing an issue gripping a stick - not sure much he can do until better. Seems kind of difficult to play through and be effective.
  9. Think he's been a healthy scratch last few games. Didn't follow closely enough to know if matchup driven or he's just getting old and was a liability
  10. Going back to the odds discussion in this thread (or maybe the other NHL thread), Stars are favored -120 or -125 for Series odds based on 2 books I looked at. That's a bit surprising as I thought it would be around -140 or so (which is how much FL is favored over NYR). For comparison, we were favored -130 against Vegas and I think -135 against Colorado. Advanced stats love Edmonton (Moneypuck has them at 57% chance to advance) so maybe should have seen that coming. I mean even that game we won 5-0 back in early April, I'm pretty sure Moneypuck only had us at like 55% or something on the "deserve to win ometer" as I think they outshot us. I feel like we have a big depth advantage + a goalie advantage although the latter will definitely be tested. I think this extra rest is important for the D that were logging heavy minutes to get their legs back. Sure would be nice if we could start the series off winning game 1 for once.
  11. It was always going to be Edmonton. Glad Vancouver at least put up a fight. Should be a great matchup/series.
  12. Probably somewhere in that range but really impossible to know until Michigan fans have received their tickets and can list them. The market doesn't really exist yet.
  13. Agreed on first but disagree on 2nd. Georgiev ended up playing fine overall. Not elite but he wasn't the reason they lost. Edmonton doesn't seem to trust Skinner at all. He had a good game 6 but has had several clunkers. I guess if you mean Edmonton has a different option to go to I agree with you but certainly not considered a strength
  14. Agreed we are splitting hairs but I'm guessing if Vancouver wins the Stars will be slightly bigger betting favorites than they were against Vegas and same for Edmonton compared to Colorado if Edmonton wins. Vancouver is a pretty significant home dog even tonight. Vancouver gets no love from power rankers or oddsmakers while they continue to love Edmonton.
  15. I agree with Pato. I think both a healthy Vegas and Colorado were the better versions although pretty similar. Doesn't mean it will be an easy series and we could certainly lose.
  16. I feel like Edmonton finds a way to win it but who knows. I agree I don't know who I prefer from a Stars perspective. In a way it's the exact opposite of the situation the Mavs were in last night. I wasn't sure who presented a better matchup, arguments each way, but the Mavs were going to be pretty decent sized underdogs to either team. Here it is the opposite. Edmonton and Vancouver are pretty different styles and I don't think 1 is clearly better than the other (as we've seen this series). But Stars should be relatively heavy favorites over either. I'm rooting for OT (both because game 7 OT is the best and because clearly just want the winner worn down).
  17. And you cried to blacklab when I was being mean to you. Fuck off, pussy. How was the rest of the weekend? Good Sunday night?
  18. What are the big roster moves you guys are going to try to make to attempt to stay competitive with the Stars considering Nichuskin's untradeable contract with a $6.125 cap hit through 2030?
  19. Agreed. I heard Pete said Roope would have been doubtful for game 7. If he can't go Thurs, I think it's clearly a long term deal. Regardless of that, everyone else that is hurting (which has to be damn near everyone) has a good chance to get right. Bet they have a hard 60 min practice Tues to stay sharp. Multiple OT's would be fantastic.
  20. Nah. As long as Jerrah is around they are who they are. Couldn't care less.
  21. I thought he was likely done for the year with a slight chance to get back at some point during the finals. Would be happy to have that wrong.
  22. They have multiple tables. Only 1 was open? I walked right up to a $10 min table around midnight last Friday. My favorite near strip place to gamble. Makes me realize I never came back and did a trip report. Here we go: Stayed at Waldorf which I remain a big fan of. Quiet and nice center strip location. Your wife will like it. Great for a work trip. Would not recommend for a guys trip. Never a wait to check in which is nice. Top floor skybar under renovation so only a small area open for now but still a good place for a pre-dinner drink. Super chill (no-party) pool that we went to for a bit Friday afternoon after landing. Fri Dinner: Catch @ Aria. My 2nd time but had been several years. Was actually really impressed (much moreso than first trip for a work dinner). Everything we had was great except for branching out and trying a mojito pre-dinner drink which was awful. Server saw our reaction and immediately took them and offered our choice. Good service. J. Timberlake Concert: Tons of fun. His pre-concert DJ may have been just as good. Nothing but 90's and 2000's jams he knew his audience. T Mobile is a great venue for anything. Ellis Island: Great as always. Grinded on a craps table for a couple of hours and think I cashed out +$60. That's a win. Crack Shack: Ok, this is a place I found on my last work trip. Convinced my wife to ditch the fancy brunch we had scheduled and hit it right next door for chicken sandwiches and champagne. Really good shit. Circa: So we went here for Mavs game 3 v. OKC (12:30 local start). I bet $500 on the Mavs and got a $450 minimum spend daybed. We know how that played out so daybed and lots of drinks were effectively free. We did NOT hit our minimum (I did my part, wife couldn't hang) but great afternoon. Stadium Swim is phenomenal as is the sports book in the casino. After leaving we walked down the Freemont St. experience and I lost $100 or so at blackjack in some casino. I don't think I have been downtown in 15+ years but was very impressed with what they have done. I think we are all in on staying at Circa next trip and just doing 1 night trip to the strip. I like (but don't love) to gamble and tons of "Eliis Island" equivalents downtown. The steakhouse at Circa is supposed to be great as well for a good meal. Dinner: Somehow made it to Pieros. It was solid as always. Kind of a blur. I got my Veal Parm and we got a pasta dish and salad and split it all and left a lot of food on the table. Stars game started so had to leave. Beer Park: Still my favorite (only place I know not a sportsbook?) to watch a big game. Great bar setup. Bellagio fountains going. Stars win. All fantastic. On way back I drag my wife through Planet Hollywood and find a craps table. Tread water a couple of rolls then guy at end of table has a massive roll. He finally crapped out when I had over $500 still on the table but I took $650 off before that. Probably should have seen how far the Mavs, Stars, Craps heater could take me but was done at that point so tipped dealers, cashed out and called it a trip. Great time as always. Love that city.
  23. This is true. But his potential is off the charts. He's just a kid.
  24. I saw your post and looked it up. My season ticket pricing (lower corner where opponent shoots 2X) are $221 this round. Which is a big discount off what they will try to sell them for (the only way you get value out of season tix is a big playoff run). I'm guessing "face" of these are closer to $325+. For those looking to go, the good thing is with the Mavs playing, I think it keeps pricing for both somewhat in check. I really considered going to Mavs game tonight but could not justify spending $450 per (plus a sitter) with potentially 2 more Stars series on the table. If Stars were done already I would have been there. I feel like a lot of people are likely picking and choosing their spots with simultaneous runs.
