  1. That was a fun game last night after getting worked Saturday (not to mention Finland). Dumba healthy scratch is going to be interesting to follow.
  2. Was there really any doubt which poster would have this take?
  3. It's been so long since we played them I decided to look at this because my recollection is the same and it pretty much checks out. I've been to every game we've played them except 2 at Kyle Field since 1994. Here are the only arguable outliers. 1998: A&M's last conference championship and Ricky's record breaking game. That was a good A&M team but that Texas team by year end was really fucking good. Don't know what the point spread was but bet it was close. The AP rankings (A&M at #6 but Texas unranked) didn't reflect reality. 1999: We were a clear better team but lost with a crazy set of circumstances. Bonfire game, Hullabaloo Dinesh Dinesh (no team breakfast at the Ramada) and Major hit with a brutal stomach bug that morning. Simms first ever start + that atmosphere and we still should have won. 2006 and 2007: Both frustrating as hell. Colt started game dinged up then got hurt at the end in 2006 then we lost to a shitty A&M team at Kyle in 2007. That 2007 game is probably the biggest outlier as a game we had no business losing. We really had no business losing either of these games.
  4. There is a fucking 78K post thread about them constantly on the first page of this board. 2 biggest schools in the state separated by 90 miles. They are absolutely our biggest recruiting rival. They are the definition of a college rival and have been for 100+ years including during this 'cold war' period where, despite not playing, everything was still constantly measured against each other. Any other take is just stupid. It is really fucking dumb for fans on both sides to pretend otherwise.
  5. No matter how much some fans of either school like to pretend it's not the case, A&M is an actual rival (like OU). We absolutely should play both every year.
  6. Hard pass playing Arkie every year. It's Texas Tech all over again. One sided hate with no upside. The mutual disdain from the 60's and 70's when both teams were elite is never coming back.
  7. Big 12 fans thoroughly enjoyed it the last 2 years when it was Texas and OU getting screwed left and right. Not as much fun when the WWF nature of that garbage conference works against your team. To some extent it's probably the same in every conference protecting their $$ but Big 12 the worst. There is a desperate need to completely restructure college football officiating. It needs to be done on a national level (at least as it relates to the Power 4 conferences) without any conference tie ins. Break up the existing conference crews so they are working with different officials from other conference. All reviews should be done at a national level. Lord knows there is more than enough money in college football to do this the right way. It won't fix all bad calls but it will help with the constant protectionism we've seen when $$ and bids are involved.
  8. What a great (and fucked up) finale. Really good show. Best I've seen in a while.
  9. They damn sure better slot Bama ahead of Notre Dame this week. Hell, they should move Ole Miss ahead of them as well.
  10. You are arguing with the same clown that thought our season was effectively over and our QB dog shit after beating Vandy on the road by 3, but just 1 good game against a bad team and we're beating Indiana by 17. He is the quintessential over reactionary Texas fan that doesn't know shit about fuck.
  11. This is certainly what should happen. Will actually be a good test of how they treat championship games.

Remember his junior year when Rex Kramer took the position he was overrated and would be JAG in college. LOL
  13. I'll be the first to admit our SEC schedule this year is more advantageous than most competitors in the conference, but Penn State literally has a 1 game season and their punishment for losing the 1 game is missing the Big 10 championship game (and a chance for 2 losses) so they will almost certainly slot into the 5 or 6 seed with a home playoff game and nice bracket setup. There just isn't an upper middle or middle tier in the Big 10 this season. It's a 4 team league and Ohio St. is the only one that has to play anyone else. I hate Ohio State but if they were to lose to Indiana they damn sure better still be slotted ahead of Penn St.
  14. This is just silly. Arkie is going to be hostile because their fans hate us. But even though that is the case, it's an Arkie team hoping to make a Bowl and an 11AM kick. A&M game will almost certainly be at night with the SEC Championship game and/or CFP slot on the line. That is on top of breaking out of a 13 year cold war. Cheapest seats @ A&M are like $900. The atmospheres won't be remotely comparable.
  15. I think Sark is certainly capable of mixing up what we do more of based on personnel and skillsets. I think this year, particularly given RB skillsets and limitations, he has decided to utilize the short passing game more as an extension of the run. Andi I don't think Ewers gets enough credit for how good he is at putting the ball exactly where it needs to be in the short passing/screen game to give our athletes a chance to work in space. Look at the Blue swing pass. It could have easily been a TFL if that ball was placed anywhere else and instead it went for 50. That is something Manning didn't seem to quite have yet (at least not at QE's level) based on his limited time.
  16. I mean sure to some extent. But with our offensive skillset, the short passing game is absolutely part of the game plan every single week. I think what Sark wants to do is get teams overplaying (or overfocusing on) the short passing game thus opening up shots down the field. First TD pass was a great example of this. Then, I thought the screen pass to Wisner and the check down swing pass to blue were both great examples using Ewers and RB's skill sets to our advantage. I'm not saying Sark is fine being second to last, but i'm saying I think we intentionally throw within 5 yards WAY more than most teams because it's a matchup advantage.
  17. This is getting a lot of talk the last few weeks. But at this point it's pretty obvious that it's flat out the design of our offense and intentional. QE is elite at hitting the short passing game within 5 yards of the LOS in stride with an opportunity to win 1 on 1 matchups. Our running game is limited between the tackles (both from an OL weakness and RB skillset perspective) but both Wisner and Blue are good to great in the passing game. We have a massive skill position advantage against every team on our schedule not named UGA so those are winning matchups and a 7 yard swing pass or WR screen works just as well as a 7 yard run. Also, when it's working like it did yesterday, it helps set up the deep shots or schemed wheel routes, etc. I'm not saying Quinn doesn't have a tendency to check down too quickly when he's feeling pressure and we aren't keeping pocket clean (he does) but more often than not the short passing game is by design.
  18. I mean that is the only good thing to come out of that debacle in '21. I don't think Sark will ever underestimate the hatred those poors have for Texas again. If Pittman's seat is still considered warm, he knows damn well a win against Texas probably gets him an extension. This is their season and I think this time Sark will at least do everything he can to get the team to understand what they will be walking into. I think with A&M our guys fully appreciate they are walking into a fistfight. I don't think anyone naturally thinks that about Arkansas except Arkansas because it's such a weird one-sided inferiority complex that fuels it. Hopefully the team takes in that message.
  19. I think what was so frustrating for everyone is against Vandy is that was a game we should have won 20+ if we play a B+ game on offense. Other than that 1 massive bust by DJ Cambell OL has played solid. Hell even some decent RB pass pro. Just keep the damn pocket clean and this offense will fucking cook.
  20. This. Bad game by Moore. He's been great otherwise this year.
  21. Ewers is getting hot. That was a perfect ball and pretty much a perfect series by him. Moore just having one of those days.
  22. Go routes with Helm across the middle right damn now.
  23. I'm sure they will come back and win by 14 but they are not a top 5 team. Not to go all "SEC" but that is a 2-4 loss team in this conference depending on their draw.
