  1. 1995 - last game of SWC. 15 year old me made a beautiful juke move past a corp douche and celebrated with the team midfield. It was back when they sat fans in folding chairs around the track/field so already plenty of fans on the field and I (and dozens of others) hopped out of the endzone. The early wave got through easily before A&M corp and students came down from the stands to block (and fight) any stragglers that were outnumbered by then trying to get through. But pretty elite sports memory for 15 year old me. No cell phones back then so my dad hung out in the endzone for like 45 mins after the game not knowing if I was arrested or beaten up or what until I finally made it back through the stands.
  2. I had to stop following "Nash" Texas fan account as well. He was having a breakdown about aggy winning a championship game 1. It was the aggiest shit I've ever seen. Sure, I would prefer TN wins all things considered, but if A&M wins, who gives a shit?
  3. Unbelievable Edmonton. Still bitter the Stars aren't there but the Edmonton fans in Dallas were great and what an amazing home atmosphere. Hope they can pull it off.
  4. Makes sense. We got something for him and Nill made sure to get him in a situation where he should get plenty of playing time with an opportunity to take a step forward. Probably viewed as a solid W by his friends in the locker room. I think it's pretty clear Nill has a reputation for doing right by players.
  5. Put me in the category of hoping new management takes over and somehow shakes things up and turns it around. I strongly prefer to fly out of Love but also pretty much done with SWA at this point due to all the things mentioned in this thread (completely inability to manage multi-day weather event until proven otherwise, ridiculous boarding and pre-boarding process and apparently now close calls on flights).
  6. Not surprised he was moved but thought he had more value than a 4th (which is next to nothing). He's a nightly bottom 6 player on a team without the Stars forward depth.
  7. Presumably that pretty much guarantees Borque's opening day spot and figuring out terms with Steel?
  8. Woah. Traded Dellandrea for a 4th rounder. Not much value in that trade at all. I'm guessing too much of a cap hit to extend given whatever else they are about to get done? Need to see some analysis on this or the corresponding move. Of all FO personnel in teams I follow, I trust Nill the most, but didn't expect that.
  9. I'm not surprised to see a step back. And it wouldn't have shocked me to not make the playoffs (in a close race). But I didn't see 10 games back in mid June. Even in years where I had zero expectations, my hope was just to get us to early to mid August within striking distance before we start paying attention to horns training camp, etc. for fall. This team better wake up or we'll dig too much of a hole to have a chance at even that within a few weeks. Hopefully getting guys back soon from injury provides a spark.
  10. I don't see it for the reasons pointed out in that Tiffin article a week or so back but guess we'll see.
  11. I can't imagine how hard that would be given what he means to his country and the weight he carries in that regard, but it would absolutely the be the right move for next season. Obviously we are biased.
  12. Way too much negativity on this thread for a team that massively overachieved. Winning a Championship is hard. Boston hung around the rim for what, damn near the last decade before finally putting the pieces together? Obviously disappointing outcome and particularly that we didn't play better but it's a learning experience that will make Luka better. They were clearly a superior team and deserving champ.
  13. Bad time for an awful shooting night across the board outside of Josh Green.
  14. That should do it. Great run. Boston just completely locked in tonight.
  15. Glad I didn't know anything about the books or that scene going in. Thought it was a great episode.
  16. I'm pretty positive confetti was dropped both home finals wins I attended in 2011, neither of which was a clincher. Who gives a shit.
  17. He hit a Mavs Finals record for made 3's. Stroke magically looked good. So, so ridiculous. Whatever, I'll hang on to a shred of hope he can somehow keep that going and the ultimate streak shooter isn't in fact done but has just finally shot himself out of it.
  18. I think we go as Kyrie goes game 5. I fully expect Luka to have a good game but Kyrie was rattled in Boston. If he can play well, it will quiet/frustrate the crowd and confidence will spread to everyone. And alternatively, if he plays poorly, lots of negative energy for everyone else to fight through. It's probably something to do with my 6th+ ranch water but I feel good about getting it back to Dallas.
  19. P.S. I can't recall if I read it in this thread or one of my text threads with season ticket holders but someone made the point recently that Lively fucks around with that corner 3 constantly in warmups. Really hope he can bring that to his game over the next couple of years. That draft pick just keeps getting better and better. He had a fantastic game tonight
  20. Fuck every single one of the haters. Great game. Great first half in particular. 4th quarter and THJ finally finding a stroke when there is no pressure is irrelevant (although appreciated if it could somehow carry over). For the first fucking time this series our role players showed up. They did what they have done all playoffs to get us here. Luka played great but was 0-8 for three and it didn't matter. Kyrie had an average game and it didn't matter. Fucking tempo, energy, defensive aggressiveness and role players playing their role ended this game early. Boston won't play this poorly again but they are beatable. Steal game 5 and Boston and those booty holes start getting tight. Oh, and thanks to all the fucking Boston douchebags that flew in tonight. Appreciate those tax dollars
  21. LOL. That Suns team won 64 games. Best record in the league easily that year (won the West by 8 games). The 'joke' MN team won 56 this year. So yeah, great comment there. An example of a "joke team" would be your Spurs now and for the foreseeable future.
  22. You are right. That was the Booker/Ayton/Paul Suns. Don't disagree with anything you are saying. Mavs still have to improve the roster to be considered a top 3 in the West which is way easier said than done (and even then it will be a bit of a crapshoot in playoffs). That THJ contract is such a dead weight for another year unless they can move it.
  23. So I guess this is the thread where Spurs and Rockets douchebags spend their time now since their teams won't be sniffing the playoffs for the foreseeable future. Cool Cool.
  24. He's fucking 25 dude/ Jordan hadn't gotten out of the 2nd round at 25. Kobe had the best start of that group but that was a stacked roster he won with when young. It's just a little too early to be writing that sentence and defining his career. This was a team with an over/under set at like 42 pre-season and he drug this team to the finals. I've seen more "it" moments from him than any player since Kobe. He pretty much singlehandedly destroyed and embarrassed Durant's PHX team on the road in game 7 2 years ago and then Minn in game 5 on the road this year. Those are real playoff moments most star players never sniff. But everyone suddenly forgetting those moments and trying to define Luka's career by 1 game is insane to me.
