  1. I mean considering what happened last time we played at this glorified HS stadium, I'm going to go ahead and say it's safe to blame UH fucking us.
  2. Seriously. Who could bitch about that drive. Great opening script. Great 4th down play call. Now let's get a 3 and out
  3. I'm guessing it isn't a close out game was a big reason. If we won last night, ticket prices would be much higher as you have a chance to see them win the AL. No chance of that now. And losing always causes ticket prices to drop. It's a Dallas sports down phenomenon across Mavs/Rangers/Stars playoffs I've noticed. Tix fluctuate dramatically based on prior outcome. That 2011 NBA finals was case and point. We tie it 1-1 and tix to home game 3 were insane. I had $800 cash for 2 and couldn't get in the door. Then we lost that and I got decent seats for under $200 each for game 4. We win that and game 5 (at 2-2) was the craziest Mavs ticket market I've ever seen. I had a good lower single already in hand I could have flipped for a ton. Yet here we are in same position and prices fell off a cliff. All about perceived momentum
  4. I don't think I've been to that J Gilligans since the Texas/Nebraska Big 12 Championship Game but may hit that up. Thx for reminder.
  5. Yeah, i'm thinking about grabbing lunch somewhere in Arlington that is not Texas Live. I see a Marianos relatively close by (which, at least the Dallas location is solid). Any other suggestions?
  6. Yep - I bought extras but there was miscommunication in our group and we overbought and sold for 1/2 price. Doesn't help that it's an afternoon game obviously.
  7. Yeah, the ticket market completely tanked overnight after the last 2 games. On one hand, that's insane considering it's 2-2 with Verlander/Montgomery today (and like most pro sports towns, this area has always been fair weather and outcome of game prior in any playoff series dictates ticket prices), but that being said, I'm sure a lot of people that shelled out big money the last 2 nights aren't inclined to do it again. Ticket prices aside, I forgot what a pain in the ass it is to get there on a weekday with traffic and to get out of there when it's a sold out game. I didn't get home until pretty damn late last night. It was great to be at the ballpark with the roof open, it makes for a significantly better experience in that stadium IMO (which I'm still not a fan of) but with the way the game went, not much to get excited about.
  8. Finally! Have been wanting to experience the stadium without a roof the way baseball is supposed to be played (although I'll never bitch in August). I went to a game in April or early May in the '22 season with perfect weather and it was closed for some reason. And perfect weather last night it was closed. Glad we are opening it up tonight.
  9. What are the odds of him making it the rest of the season? Was watching that game as well thinking no chance. Seems like eventually he's going to get hit in the wrong spot. Hell, I texted my aggy friend during the Arkie game that Jimbo should be fired "for cause" for allowing so many designed runs knowing you have shit behind him at QB. But yeah, that kid is tough getting up time and time again.
  10. Bad timing for Mizzou to actually look like a relevant program. Would certainly rather him go there than a traditional power.

I haven't been in a few months, but per emails I've been getting, it doesn't seem like lines have been as long on Thursdays and Fridays. I don't think there is anything really in lake highlands worth spending money on that I've found. I've only tried One90 once, and it was ok, but it's not that much closer than Cattleack from my location. Maybe I should give it another try though.
  12. I don't think it was as much getting guys work to keep them sharp, rather, that's what we have in the pen if we aren't using Sborz/Chapman/Leclerc. We've been extremely fortunate to play with the lead the entire playoffs generally with starters going deep. Last night is what it looks like when that doesn't happen. I'm pretty jealous of the stros relief options. I texted a buddy at the game right before first pitch I felt like we would need 8 or 9 runs to win last night and unfortunately I was right. Our bats haven't come out and taken over a game yet. Hopefully we see something resembling that tonight. Semien and Seager in particular have got to get it going.
  13. I assumed Dunning would get it but I'm sure he comes in early if needed.
  14. Yeah, I mean we don't have 4 starters if no Scherzer. If Scherzer could pitch, he was pitching either today or tomorrow. Our pitching staff is what it is. Hopefully a better performance tomorrow.
  15. Well shit. Kind of felt this game would go about like it did. Let's get em tomorrow. I'll be there.

Just go to Cattleack. It's not that bad of a drive.
  17. This happened to me this year as well. Have been at 0 filing jointly as well which has historically been enough cushion to net a small refund. I had a large gain last year so made a conservative payment (i.e., more than I owed on the gain) as I had some additional untaxed income. Assumed I would still get a $10K or so refund but ended up owing a little over $1K. I have trailing K1's so always extend and file in October but going to have to make a material payment next spring probably to take this into account.
  18. I don't want Elko at A&M. He's not a sure thing but turning Duke into a competitor in a Power 5 conference is impressive, period. In hindsight, Charlie Strong was fools gold because he was at Louisville and had Teddy Bridgewater winning hime games.
  19. Given revenue decline post D&J (per court testimony) do we think they are tacking on extra commercial time? When I left office during game 2 Monday, the Ticket was on when I turned on my car in a commercial break. I flipped over and listened to 2 AB's of the game (both outs) then flipped back and still in commercial break that kept going. By the time the HL finally came back on, I flipped back to check and the bottom of the inning had started. So I don't know how long the commercial break had started before I got in my car, but even assuming it had just started, it seemed longer than normal. Curious if any of the more frequent listeners have noticed anything.
  20. I was randomly in NY for a deal closing as a young attorney and a NY colleague I just met scored me tix to that game from a vendor. Was amazing.
  21. Oh I'm aware. And I hope I'm wrong and we can continue to shut down their lineup. But I just feel like both offenses are about to wake up in Arlington after a couple of pitching duels.
