  1. To me this game is on the defense. I haven't seen a lot of Iowa State football but certainly haven't seen much I would consider "dynamic" on offense. They don't have top end talent like Breece Hall or Xavier Hutchison. This is a game where the defense should dominate. But obviously against OU (which had more offensive talent) but also 2nd half against both UH and TCU our defense was absolute garbage. Our secondary can't cover and safeties take terrible angles, LB's get lost, DE's do nothing and backup DT's get pushed around. This is a game we need our defense to step up.

I mean I think we're saying the same thing when I noted pretty much everyone that interacted with him hated him.

I'm not talking about the players dude. I'm talking about everyone other than the player. Pretty much every player group in the history of football blames the coaches if the team isn't successful, if they personally aren't successful, if they don't think they are playing enough, etc. etc. It's never their fault. Maybe you should take that into consideration when filtering the information you get.

LOL. No it wouldn't have. Literally 100% of the people that interacted with him daily or weekly (or in the case of donors, intermittently) hated him. He was an absolute jackass. Yeah, it's a bit ridiculous.
  5. The timing of this just doesn't make sense to me. I'm trying to understand the strategy for doing this now vs. 2 weeks from now. If you are a potential draft pick or a potential portal free agent why in the world would you suit up 2 games (or a bowl) for a school that just gave up on the season? I wonder if they have multiple players just shut it down right now because I sure as hell would instead of risking injury for those assholes.

This. We have really good high end talent but still lacking depth and still a ton of subpar players playing serious minutes. If you take a step back and look at our flaws it's not fair to expect this team to look like a top 3 team week in and week out. That's just not what we are now. We have national championship caliber talent at the top end but certainly not the overall roster
  7. It was just a god awful initial angle. And then he's either just incredibly slow or gave shit effort as Savion kept running. It was bad. This Texas team has a lot of top end talent on both sides of the ball but we still have holes all over the field where we are playing JAG's or worse. And that play was a perfect example.
  8. This. Red just isn't good at that role. Not even in the same ballpark as Roschon last year. Need to just scrap it.
  9. I just rewatched the 2nd half. The only real issue I had with a Sark play call was the 3rd and 3 right before the long FG. That was the drive we ran 8 straight times. Once we got to 3rd and 3, they had 9 in the damn box. Single coverage outside. If we make an aggressive play call there and convert we put the game away. Instead we ran right into it. The biggest problem was the defense. Hell if we just don't give up that long ass Savion pass (with the hurdle at the end) that gave them life up 20 we almost certainly win comfortably. Kitan Crawford was terrible on that play. Defense absolutely has to have some killer instinct in those situations. We had so many chances on D to put that game away and couldn't do it.
  10. Michigan has always been my favorite Big 10 team. Primarily because after visiting this shit stain on this earth that is Columbus Ohio in 2005, I'll pretty much always root for their enemy. But I'm rooting heavily for Penn St. to beat their ass tomorrow to hopefully put this ridiculous story on the 2nd page and let the rest of the teams get the headlines they deserve. They cheated. Massively. And they have zero right to play in the CFP this year.
  11. This. 100% team kiffin on this. If you have mental issues, that doesn't absolve you from taking a little bit of responsibility and meeting with your fucking coach. The fact that this is even an issue says everything about that generation.
  12. My biggest takeaway from the A&M contract release is Petrino didn't even have enough leverage to sign a multi-year contract (and is instead working under a "LOI"). I guess in theory maybe that LOI includes protection beyond this year but that's pretty funny that relationship was so tenuous from the beginning.
  13. I don't know why any position coach with options would go there knowing he will almost certainly be looking for a job in the next 2 years. They are going to have to overpay with guaranteed 3 year contracts to replace anyone on that staff.
  14. I immediately thought of that play watching it live last week. Still too soon.
  15. Same here. But those midwesterners (+ East coast I guess?) love them some big 10 football. Big 10 Football is just incredibly boring to me but the ratings are always somehow impressive. Outside of Michigan/Ohio St. there is rarely a game I could possibly watch start to finish. I watched a decent chunk of Ohio St/Penn St flipping back and forth and will do the same with Michigan this weekend, but will typically watch more of a marquee matchup from literally any other conference. Maybe that's just me but I've never cared about Big 10 football.
  16. It's apparently been a total shitshow the first couple of weeks of the NBA season. Flat out did not work numerous times. I hate giving that company money but I'm probably going to be forced to give it a shot soon and hope they worked out the glitches. As I like YTTV too much to give it up in order to get Bally's like I did last spring/summer when I temporarily switched to FUBO.
  17. I refused to click on that link but saw enough to know what was in it. I really wonder what kind of deal Wetzel cut with Michigan and/or Harbaugh for a future scoop to run with that nonsense.
  18. If Fisher isn't an absolute idiot, he made damn sure there is evidence his superiors knew everything going on. It's the reason Briles got paid 100% of his buyout vs fired "for cause". When every action or inaction you take is done with the acquiescence of your boss, there is no "cause" to justify a subsequent firing.
  19. If I was a litigator and had my own firm, I think i might send some kind of notice to the Big 12 office on behalf of a potential class of sports betters asking to preserve all correspondence between conference administrators and officials just to fuck with them with the clear implication that you suspect fraud. Litigators that have their own firm can tell me why that might be a bad idea. But would love for Yormark to squirm a bit with his fuckery and start having to think about if he or the idiots that work for him might have put something stupid in writing.
  20. Wrong thread
  21. The top is obviously the bump into Strong intentionally to throw a personal foul flag. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like that at any level of sport. It was clearly personal. But, as for this season, I'm pretty sure it was Mar or one of his minions that was caught on film in the Wyoming game screaming at Ewers for celebrating a TD that was about a 3/10 on the level of what is considered permissible for TD celebrations in the current era. It was bizarre. And no doubt setting up the possibility to call anything other than quietly handing the ball to the official on the next TD with the explanation that "I warned you". That crew is just pure garbage.
  22. Mar's reaction to that play is more telling than anything else that happened. We were signaling our ball and he angrily yelled "No" 'No". An unbiased official just doesn't react or neutrally references the down (knowing that if a close play replay should review it). But this fucker assertively, and angrily, made clear he was not even going to consider it could have been a fumble with the confidence that it's not even in the realm of a play that should be reviewed. Then Sark initially had to call a TO just to get the call reviewed. Seriously. Fuck that guy. He's an absolute piece of shit. We got it back. But Sark absolutely had to call it to get a review initiated.
  23. It's been a while but I liked the product a bit better. I just wasn't convinced that Trimlight would be as bright as the others, especially for my house which has a bit darker brick. Also, the Trimlight people were like 45 mins late and I barely had time to meet with them and I think they then had the highest quote. Jellyfish only did a remote estimate which I really didn't like either but saw enough online reviews, etc. to know it was a good product. The Gemstone installer spent the most time with me explaining the product, making suggestions, and making sure he gave me the best offer. Given things were all relatively equal I went with the guy that made the most effort to get the deal done.
  24. Agreed. There is no way he's ready to start day 1 but someone with a relatively stable short term QB situation will snag him in the late first or 2nd convinced they can develop him. That would be best thing for him obviously. He's still a work in progress and would not do well if thrown into the NFL fire right away.
  25. Super low energy in arena last night except for drunk visiting Boston fans. Monday night sporting events are the worst. And my diet coke sipping ass after a 5 day weekend WS celebration was part of the problem.
