  1. They only actually call holding on a 3rd and long clear and obvious incompletion. Huge coincidence.
  2. PTSD is right. I started walking my kid to bed right as they hit that HR and nerves kicked in. But all negative vibes aside, that's a huge win. I felt all day the bats would pick up Adolis and they absolutely did. No reason we can't do the same thing again tomorrow.
  3. Just an inning of Dunning is big. That gives Bochy some flexibility. I'm sure he came into tonight banking on needing 3
  4. Has he pitched 3 days in a row this season?
  5. Oh I know. Just hated we had to burn him for tomorrow after a 10 run lead. But fuck it. Eovaldi will pitch a gem tomorrow then Chapman will walk the bases loaded with a 1 run lead and get a GIDP to end it!
  6. Anyone else get so high off that Semien HR + trick or treating to-go booze + halloween candy that the bullpen melt down to end it almost makes it feel like a loss? Hate to see we somehow ended up with a pen in worse shape than theirs, but Fuck it. We're 1 away.
  7. This. That was an idiotic fucking post. Dude hasn't been sharp this post season because he wasn't supposed to be back yet. And he is only making "rehab starts" in the ALCS and WS because it's the best option we have.
  8. I didn't get to watch a ton of it. But I did see them get actually get called for holding. Which I enjoyed.
  9. Yep. 5-9 +1 in our lineup are due for a big game. Might as well be tonight.
  10. I remember when a recruit named David Thomas showed up on campus when he was in HS and thinking who is this skinny guy - he'll never play.
  11. Surlyhorns Football Board = Opening Script: 1. Throws deep ball (incomplete): WTF are you doing Sark you fucking moron. Let your QB get into a rhythm. 2. Runs for little or no gain: Great start Sark. Run right into a stacked box you fucking idiot. 3. Throws short pass for little or no gain: Typical predictable Sark. Nobody saw the short pass coming. Surlyhorns Football Board: First drive that stalls after a TD on Opening Script: Typical Sark. All he has is an opening script and jack shit after that. Hire a fucking play caller!
  12. Lots of hand wringing after a win last night. Injuries suck but it is what it is. The reality is we are up 2-1 scoring a grand total of 10 fucking runs through 3 games. Everyone should be ecstatic about that. That is the kind of offensive slump that could easily have us down 3-0. We're now due to break out of it. Semien hasn't been Semien but his hit scoring the run and keeping that inning alive won us the game. And basically since the middle part of the ALCS, it seems like more often than not he's hitting the ball hard. He's not completely lost at the plate. He's going to snap out of it and have a 3-5 multi RBI game soon. Hopefully tonight. Even assuming Max and Adolis are out for the series (we'll hear more today I guess) we have enough dudes on this team to pick them up and win 2 more.
  13. After Heaney laid an egg in Game 4 of the ALCS with the start (and Dunning had to come in during the first) I feel like he gives Dunning the start tomorrow with Heaney first out of the pen. But guess we'll see what Bochy decides. He said in his press conference just now they are about to go discuss and come to a decision.
  14. I thought that was what I saw as well LOL
  15. 2 more. Need the rest of the team to pick up Adolis. I have faith!
  16. Pretty sure I saw Bochy said not so fast on that report. That it may be Gray but also could be Dunning or Heaney. Sounds like it all depends on how tonight goes and if they need to use one of those arms.
  17. The most obvious thing from watching that video is if MM throws that to the back of the endzone it's a pretty easy TD catch. X had separation. On the other hand, MM's 'touch' on the AD TD was a great throw and necessary as otherwise he would have thrown him out of bounds. We are going to need to hit a couple of these this week.
  18. We can pretend the 2 ALCS appearances were really rehab starts for Max and he's ready to go tonight. Really need him to go 5+ with 3 games in a row. I feel like we'll know how our bats are going to go tonight based on the first inning. Semien is definitely due. Feel like he breaks out tonight as well.
  19. Right. Because that's not his skill set and never will be. The fact that he's a complete mismatch that defenses have to account for every single play is what will end up getting him picked in the late first round. But I have zero doubt if Sark had his pick of any WR in CFB to have on his roster there aren't 5 players he would select before X.
  20. That play needs to be taken out until we have 5 All B12 linemen I love that play design. Players need to execute. We executed it last year for a TD with a shittier line. J Brooks has been phenomenal this season, but if he makes that block, it's probably a TD (although, to your point, if I recall, either the center or a guard let a guy go as well that might have made the play even if Brooks slides over).
  21. I was as critical as anyone regarding that during the period of the UH game where we stalled. I thought he wasn't seeing the field or not processing beyond his first read. But then it came out he had already injured his throwing shoulder and was trying to play through it. Which makes that stretch make a lot more sense.
  22. Who is tearing MM down? He played fine for his first start. Some good. Some bad. He needs 3 games against the likes of Rice to get more comfortable. Unfortunately that isn't in the cards. It's not "tearing them down" to be concerned you are starting a QB that has very few live game reps (including in HS) in a must win game. It's a legitimate concern. Obviously everyone hopes he plays well. That's the thing about young inexperienced QB's. He could come out and play a great game. Or he could turn it over 3 times in the first half. You just don't know what you are going to get. Best thing that could happen for him is for our OL to step up this week and give him time.
  23. Probably because our shitty fans weren't buying them. The ticket market for a top 10 texas game was abysmal and embarassing. I think I netted like $70 per (after fees) for 35 YL seats. Nobody even made me an offer on this site so I sold them Friday night on seatgeak. Those were going for like $50 WITH fees in the couple of hours before kickoff. I just couldn't swing it from Dallas after traveling for work all week or I would have been there. But I'll never understand how Austin, as much as it's grown with no other sports in town, isn't supporting a winning Texas team better. I think KSU will be a ot better considering it's a huge game with Big Noon kickoff in town but last week was pathetic.
  24. Not knowing if a backup QB in his 2nd start can beat a good team is a hot take? The guy that panicked and threw the worst pick we've seen in years and threw into double coverage multiple times? We're just all supposed to assume that won't occur again? You can superfan all you want. But we would be 10+ point favorites in this game if QE was healthy. That doesn't mean we win or lose but the floor and ceiling for QB play is both significantly higher with a healthy QE. MM is still a question mark. He's raw an inexperienced with a lot of upside. He needs tons of live reps to reach that. That shouldn't be controversial. It's fact. I hope he plays lights out this week. He very well could. But it could easily swing the other way as well and we're playing Arch in the 2nd quarter. As it the case with every young and inexperienced QB in the history of college football.
  25. The MM superfans in this thread are just going to find anything they can do to deflect from a performance that pretty much everyone expected from a first time starter. It's bizarre to me that MM looking raw, making some poor decisions and generally being a significant step down running a limited offense compared to the starting QB is somehow a controversial take among some on this board yet here we are.
