  1. Maybe. Maybe not. Lots of assumptions in your post based on limited data. This OU team is better on paper than last years OU team and they can only play who they have played.. Don't forget the main reason we beat the shit out of them is that they had absolutely no QB and had to run wildcat. This Texas team is better than last year as well. I don't take much from last year either way. The data points I like for us that are more proven than "they're a paper tiger" are (i) they have not run the ball well against average D's and (ii) DG has not proven (throughout a long career) that he can carve up a good D.
  2. Plan to get there no later than 8 no matter what method of transportation you use. Buy enough coupons for entire day first thing. Get your Fletchers before 8:45AM. Don't wait until last minute to head into stadium. Plan to be in seats no later than 10:30. That's the best advice I can give.
  3. Yeah, we do. But not at the same level as the last 2 weeks. This board constantly overreacts. Game to game and even play to play (go read a fucking first half Kansas game thread for proof of that). I hope we beat them by 20+ like everyone, and there is a scenario where that plays out, but there is a reason the spread is under a TD and most "models" have OU covering that. "On Paper" we are not 2+TD's better than OU. "On Paper" we absolutely were 2TD's better than both Baylor and Kansas.
  4. Let's also not pretend Texas is going to handle the LOS like they did against Baylor and Kansas. I think Texas can wear OU down over 4 quarters on both fronts but this is going to be a good matchup/test for both units.
  5. Don't disagree with any of this. And Texas becomes easier to defend if Sanders can't go. Particularly in the red zone.
  6. I hope this guy is trolling. JFC if that isn't the biggest Fuck You from the Big 12 if true.
  7. Yeah, I just haven't watched OU enough this year to date, but that offense really needs a strong running game to work as intended. Their stats to date speak for themselves. As long as we control the LOS like we should, I fully expect our D to be able to force DG into bad decisions.
  8. This is where I'm at. This will be my 25th straight and 26th total. Have seen a lot of weird shit. We've even seen both teams completely flip slow starts ('99 and '21 off the top of my head).
  9. A&M going all in on this weekend isn't a bad strategy. If they get curbstomped they probably know the wheels fall off this season anyways. An upset shifts momentum and pays dividends like it did 2 years ago. Big weekend for all 4 teams involved from both a season and narrative perspective.
  10. In the current NFL a, Brooks will never be a 3rd rounder much less an early 3rd rounder. He can have an NFL career but he's never going to be a combine/pro day warrior.
  11. This. All BS aside it's a great matchup. Really want to see how PK gameplans these guys. The easy analysis is "Texas is vulnerable to the deep ball" and while we could have played several of those a lot better, we have also been intentionally putting our secondary in 1 on 1 matchups because we haven't played a QB that can actually beat us throwing the ball over 4 quarters. We aren't going to be stacking the LOS this week like we did against KU's triple option. Probably a lot of drop coverage with occasional blitzes from different directions. The knock on DG is he panics/folds when playing a good defense. Need to frustrate him this week and see if that trend continues.
  12. Terrible timing for the bats to go ice cold. The offense was incredibly shitty the entire road trip. It's kind of a miracle we strung together those hits yesterday (almost none of which were hit hard). Wasted 2 really good pitching performances Thurs and Sun. Oh well. On to Tampa. Bats better wake up or going to be a short run.
  13. It's not great. But better than what I expected coming into today considering the state of the pitching staff going into yesterday. Leclerc only needing 15 to get those last 4 outs helps.
  14. Yep, that was the most costly obviously.
  15. There will be lots of JT's ankle talk and rumors this week but we probably won't know a damn thing until first offensive snap Saturday AM. And even if he starts who knows how it will hold up considering how important he is as a blocker. Hoping for the best but no doubt the coaching staff is game planning assuming he won't be the All American version of himself. The good news is that looked like a 3-5 week injury at the time so glad that doesn't appear to be the case.
  16. They missed a ton of holding calls on Kansas. I get they don't call holding in this shitty league but several were just ridiculous. WAY more blatant than what they actually called on DJ.
  17. That was easy! Should have just done that Thursday 🤣
  18. Someone should make a weekly thread showing the best overreactions in game thread.
  19. Huge bounce back half for Quinn after that pick. Great read/ball.
  20. After that fumble against Wyoming not sure the trust him.
  21. I'm pretty sure we will go for it if 4th and under 5 every time in that range. Especially after today.
  22. Over 30 mins TOP through 3 quarters is pretty impressive.
  23. Pretty sure I set the over/under at 10 missed holding calls after the first one. So yeah, looks like that over is going to hit.
  24. For those in Austin, that J Brooks NIL meet and greet better sell the fuck out before this game is over.
  25. The offense that has 450 fucking yards halfway through the 3rd quarter? Well, on that possession our center snapped it early and over the QB's head resulting in a fucking 2nd and 25. We are killing drives with stupid mistakes (QE pick and brain fart snap)
