  1. This. This is a measuring stick game for where we are week 2 but conference play, and not fucking up multiple winnable games, is what matters regardless of the outcome Saturday. The constant need to make definitive conclusions on every single fucking topic week to week on this board (and every other message board) is beyond tired.
  2. Throw to Sanders against OU where he dropped it between 3 defenders was one of my favorites from last year. I don't know what to expect against Bama as I don't think he's going to have a ton of time back there. Hopefully Sark can scheme him some easy throws. But I still think he'll put it together this year and have a good season.
  3. Sure every game matters. Some matter more than others. All that "mattered" against Rice when you play Bama week 2 is winning with minimal injuries while getting game reps and hopefully experience for younger players. I'm sure Sark fully expected the team to execute the base offense he ran. And I'm sure he wasn't happy with first half execution at times. But neither Texas nor Bama showed either shit Saturday. Both teams are probably looking at Saturday's game tape for personnel and flaws but no doubt most scout team work will be based on last years film. That's just the nature of football when your schedule has an elite opponent week 2. If we had OU's schedule and didn't play a top 25 team until the Cotton Bowl, then you have a little more of a luxury to run the entire offense.
  4. How about we stop bitching about play calling against Fucking Rice. Sark was never concerned about losing this game. He just called what he wanted to call. There is still plenty to bitch about but scheme and play calling against Rice isn't one of them. I think we get a much better feel for how much Sark trusts Ewers and this offense and how he wants to call games this year starting this week. That is of course if our interior OL gives us a chance to actually run an offense.
  5. We bought my wife's current car new, I can't remember details but I recall I got a great deal on it at the time (December 2015). I bought my last 2 personal cars at a material discount with under 4K miles on them as new "program" cars or something to that effect (my current car, 5 Series, was used for test drives and/or employee car to learn about the vehicle). Worked out well at the time but I'm guessing those really don't exist anymore post-covid - at least not at the same discounts.
  6. Bama 26; Horns 17. Bama 342 yards of O.
  7. Replaced by who? Murphy is not ready to start for this team. Neither is Manning. This will be Ewers 12th start of his career. But yeah, I'm sure Sark is ready to replace his inexperienced starting QB with Malik who has a grand total of 5 passing attempts in the 4th quarter against Rice.
  8. LOL. Nothing you can do but laugh at this point.
  9. That statement is quintessential Surly football board.
  10. It's really not a bad idea. Take it out of the networks hands. It's only a real issue in a handful of States but Texas is definitely one of them.
  11. CDC has zero control over this. Zero. I've discussed this and whether any real ability to backroom deal on this with him directly. If he did we never would have played Rice or Louisiana in the afternoon 2 of the past 3 years. All schools in every power 5 conference basically traded flexibility for a big pile of $$. It will be the same thing in the SEC. Probably have a better likelihood lobbying the legislature for some rule that a college game can't kick off before 7 with a temp > 102 or something.
  12. 5 different pitchers blew saves this road trip. 5. There isn't a button to be pushed. The entire bullpen fucking sucks ass. It is what it is. Pretty obvious what the #1 priority is this offseason.
  13. Thank god real football starts tomorrow.
  14. Good job good effort Chapman. God he sucks.
  15. You can't make this shit up. Unbelievable
  16. Are you talking about with current interest rates or former. Because we financed our last vehicle with 0% interest and no cash discount option. Anyone that pays cash in that scenario is not sophisticated, not smart, and has an infant's view of finance.
  17. It's a big issue across all income level. There are lawyers/investment bankers that make >$1MM that have shit for net worth given their spend rate. I haven't looked for data to support this but Americans "god given right to live beyond their means" is absolutely a big driver of inflation. People want to bitch and moan about greedy corporations maximizing profit but hard to blame them if the demand is there. I keep waiting for demand to drop for discretionary spending generally and, for purposes of this thread, high end vehicle purchases, but we haven't really seen it yet.
  18. Odd as Seattle looks to have the toughest schedule in September overall. Surely they come down to earth. Stros probably the easiest schedule.
  19. The rate for top credit tier for a new car is currently at an average of a little over 5% and it only goes up from there. Agree PTI is the biggest issue but I would argue anyone paying > $1000 a month at > 5% is still a poor financial decision even for those making over $20K/month in most circumstances. That's expensive money for a depreciating asset.
  20. Watching yesterday and it hit me that this baseball team reminds me way too much of Texas football the last 4 years or so. Either win easily or give up a big lead and lose a close game. Just maddening. Fucking Zeke's baserunning yesterday was absolutely inexcusable - pure dumbassery and it cost us a run and the game. Way too many low IQ plays. Has to drive Semien and Seagar crazy playing with these idiots.
  21. LOL. Good luck with that. Please be sure to come back and tell us how it went.
