All I know is that Billy told us a guy who watched FSU practices watched one of these and said the practices were National Championship Level. Championship. Level.

Jimbo knows how to win prance his way to a national championship.

Not a single QB on that roster who could master that dinosaur offense like Jameis Winston could

  2. So for the roster dorks, what does this incoming class do across the board to the ATM roster?
I was talking with friends of mine that are really involved nationally with CFB and they said they expect high attrition from the ATM roster ahead of next season and that Fisher is loading the roster with guys who might be dudes, but who also are not good characters. Normally the same folks are glowing about Fisher’s recruiting so hearing them get real about it for once got me curious.
Fisher has always taken character risks and kids who don't understand the concept of "team". This isn't anything new.

I'm just wondering how long it will take for kids to start signing promise notes to try and put forth effort. That happened at FSU.

I'm betting Jimbo won't get rid of Craig.  Believe this was a thing at FSU in that Dumbo refused to get rid of dead weight on the coaching staff @TBGFL

Based on his history, no, he will not. Jimbo has never fired an assistant in his time as head coach. Besides, Craig is his protege.

Jimbo and Aggy like to spin the false narrative that Jimbo wasn't given enough money for assistants at FSU, which is a complete farce. Jimbo had a staff at FSU that was Top 5 or 10, can't remember which, in compensation. Jimbo just chose to allocate those dollars poorly.

Lol. Bignole 936, eh? Seems like some good natured FSU trolling. Fisher doesn't regret shit, why would he? He's getting paid and it's not like he was handling the pressures of the ACC any better at the time.

I don't buy it for a second but I'm enjoying the angst it will bring to Aggy.

What was the coaching turnover at FSU prior to the Jimbo exit? I think he fired his longtime OL coach the year before.

He didn't have much in his last few years there. Mark Stoops and Eddie Gran left after the 2012 season, driven partly by the fact that Stoops and Fisher got into it in the locker room after a game

They will be doing the only trick of the mind they're good at, holding two opposing thoughts in their heads at the same time:

    • Jimbo loves it here in College Station. Why would he even think of going somewhere else?
    • Quick, give him an enormous raise so he won't leave.

They'll also brag about how this shows how rich they are instead of realizing that the only way a coach of Jimbo's callibre (whatever that may be) will come to that dump is for a stupidly high salary on a non-binding contract.

The Aggies finished number 4 just outside the playoffs in a very strange year. Now they are convinced that they are perennial playoff challenger.

While only beating 4 teams with winning records and going into the 4th quarter tied with a UNC team that had most of their offensive production opt out of the bowl game....

Context doesn't matter to those morons.

The insecurity is so powerful and Jimbo and Sexton know it.

They know that if Orgeron has a bad season, he's gone and Woodward would more than likely come for Jimbo. The problem with being a scared bitch like that is that they didn't consider if LSU even wants him.

Jimbo left fsu so full of character risks that it has taken two coaches to clean it up. I wonder if this starts to catch up with him at a&m. While this sort of thing happens everywhere, it could be a one off or a larger trend.

That's the knock on him, right? It's not that he can't coach or recruit. It's that he runs an extremely loose ship.

The Aggy 247 site had some posters that seem to insinuate that it wasn't Jimbo that caused FSU's downfall. I know we're talking about Aggy here but Jimbo's propensity to take risks on kids with serious character issues and play favorites with prima donna players is EXACTLY why FSU had a culture problem. I know they want to stick their head in the sand because they were the only ones stupid enough to pay that hillbilly $75M guaranteed but facts are facts. Apparently this "upward trajectory" they think they have directly contradicts Fisher tanking FSU's program. Quite the contrary. It shows the guy can recruit but not much else.

At best, it was a mutual parting of ways. It remains to be seen if FSU will come out of this for the better but at the time they were absolutely ready to move on.

Folks there are happy with Norvell. He has a Herculean task of cleaning up the mess Fisher created. Taggart only made it worse.

You think FSU fought to keep Jimbo?  They were done with him

That's correct. He tried one last ditch attempt to get FSU to match Aggy because he didn't want to leave and Thrasher told him to get lost. When his departure was announced at the Moore Center, people in the building were clapping. Does that sound like they wanted to keep him?

Fisher was being "pushed out" by FSU?! lol  That's a first for me. FSU fans hated that he left them, and they hated their leadership from not giving him the support he was seeking. Seems to me Fisher was the one who had the options, and took a better one.

I know that's the narrative at TexAgs but that simply isn't the case. Hearing Fisher's side of it doesn't make it the truth.

I'm married into an FSU family that donates a lot of money to that school. The boosters couldn't stand the guy. There are fans who hated that he left but a great deal more who were tired of his bullshit. He was given everything he wanted and asked for but he didn't want to do his part to get it, i.e. fundraising.
