  1. Southampton 4 - 4 Norwich this match was a better measure where we are. Norwich is a top 10 side. first match without JWP in the midfield for years and it showed. We got overran. defense is a shambles. life without VAR is glorious. I didnt realize how much i hated it until i watched a few PL matches this weekend. a goal is a goal in the Championship. You can celebrate it. was able to watch the game on a dodgy stream pulled from Norwich's iFollow broadcast. No audio and couldn't maximize the screen on my iphone without it going to an ad screen. It sucks watching this way.
  2. sound like Chelsea bid £55m right before the weekend, exceeding Southampton's £50m evaluation. Liverpool followed up today with a £60m bid. Southampton have essentially accepted both and are going to let Lavia decide where he wants to go. gotta say, Southampton couldn't have played this one any better.
  3. this weekend seemed the worst so far.. tried to keep the house at 75. the AC ran continually from 10am to 2am. poor guy.
  4. i basically don't even turn on the hot water tap for showers most mornings this summer.
  5. Mark was in a band during his time at Texas. catchy little diddy.
  6. Who is going to him about the Rice game this year?
  7. Exactly. I have the misfortune of following a club in the Championship. It is going to cost me $325 this season if I want to watch every Southampton league match.
  8. so Liverpool are/were prepared to pay £110m for Caicedo but have been penny pinching over a few million pounds with Lavia. I dont get it.
  9. how many shitty seasons are we expect to endure a year?
  10. we'll see.. we have already broken the record for the number of days of 105 or more for a summer this year. Going to shatter it, consider the 7 day forcast. From kvue.com A quick summary of events so far this summer: Today will be our 50th triple-digit day of the summer so far, but more importantly, our 28th day at or above 105 degrees. That’s the most ever recorded in Austin, and we have seven more days over 105 lined up in the forecast. We are now confident that through the first two weeks of August, this will rank as the hottest in Austin’s history. Yes, even hotter than 2011. We continue to climb the leaderboard for the overall hottest summer on record having recently passed 2022 for the #2 spot. We may take the #1 spot by the end of this month.
  11. Closer. We are getting there.
  12. cracks me up that one would build a pool and then want to build a shade structure over it. i guess that is what it has come to.
  13. yep. And there are a lot of shitheads in America.
  14. knew it was inevitable, but such a bummer nonetheless. £30million https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12388619/West-Ham-agree-30m-deal-sign-James-Ward-Prowse-Southampton-David-Moyes-set-land-one-targets.html
  15. Fond memories of swimming with my kids at Ramsey. Now they are older and don't want to hang at the pool with dear 'ole dad.
  16. manager letting them know what's what. Time to look inward. There is a reason Saints got relegated - a bunch of deadwood collecting checks thinking they are better than they are.
  17. Gillingham 3 - 1 Southampton What an incredible journey we had in this season's League Cup.
  18. It's going to be horrible.. people get stretchered out from section every year in September.
  19. would be pretty obvious if you had been doing him a solid in his pool.
  20. ........borrowing Captain Ron's thread title from last year. League Cup starts tomorrow. Tuesday Gillingham vs Southampton Wrexham vs Wigan Wednesday Leeds vs Shrewsbury Burton vs Leicester
  21. Sheffield Wed 1 -2 Southampton Whole new style of play implemented by new manager Russel Martin.. Possession football on steroids. Southampton had 78% possession and played nearly a 1000 passes. after the go ahead goal - Southampton played keep away ball for the final 12 minutes - i don't think SheffWed even touched the ball. Crazy. We had our usual set piece cockup defensively JWProwse played despite W. Ham rumors. Lavia did not play. Liverpool seem inevitable eventually. Still not a lot of cutting edge or finishing in the final third. important to start off on the right foot and bank those 3 points. Hey, i get to celebrate a win.. that hasnt happened a whole lot in the last few years. but overall impressed with what Martin has installed in just 5 weeks. On to the Carabao Cup Tuesday.
  22. so first impressions of the Championship and following a club that has been relegated. It a weird watch and will take some getting used to. I literally know nothing about the opponent they are playing. You don't recognize any opponent's players, you dont know who is the offensive threat, who is their jerk player for you to loathe, hard to muster up any animosity toward them other than you want your team to win. it is almost like watching a friendly. you PL types are going to notice big rule changes this year Going to be a lot of stoppage time added... in yesterday's Saints match there was 6 added minutes in the first half, 9 minutes in the second half. yellow cards were given if more than 2 players crowded around a ref looking to foul grub. no VAR is glorious -- oops PL still has it. I am going to miss Peacock's PL coverage.. pregame, half time highlights, post game stuff, League news. No offerings like that for Championship watchers.. just watch the game and that is it.
