  1. Musk didn't buy shit. Musk ain't that rich. He's just leveraged which is why he's liquid and the rest of his money is on paper. The world's richest list is always just who has the most money in corporations. Putin probably was the richest man in the world and then followed by a bunch of dudes in the middle east. Elon owes Putin money as does trump and right now, Musk is the favorite. Really, it's much easier to visualize the power dynamics in terms of organized crime because that's what it is.
  2. Trump can’t get rid of musk without Putin’s blessing so he’ll tolerate it forever. They are both under the thumb of the same mobster.
  3. Not sure I get why people are laughing at this reply. Maybe it's over my head. While Sugar and Corn Syrup have similar calorie counts per gram, sugar is digested differently and as a result can make you feel more full while it's being processed. So if you were to eat two identical desserts aside from the sweeter, the one with sugar could make you feel more full and stop you from eating more compared to the one using corn syrup. Sugar is like coke. Consume enough of it and it's all your body will run on and you'll lose a bit of weight because you are eating less overall calories.
  4. Real sugar acts as an appetite suppressant so you might see people actually consuming less calories due to reduced hunger as their digestive system processes the cane sugar.
  5. the "Or we get" is doing a lot of work there. You "get" judges when they die, retire or you blackmail them into retirement. I don't know how you can adjust that without appearing to be especially political with the courts. FDR tried to stack the courts but he was rebuffed and he was a really popular POTUS. Maybe you could get some consensus around putting term limits on SCOTUS judges which would mean every president could start their term by appointing 2 judges but I think you would run the risk of that getting struck down by SCOTUS which would put everyone in an awkward bind.
  6. I'm sure the libertarians would love that.
  7. Of course not. That's not how government works. The only way to fix it is for congress to pass constitutional amendments with super majorities and for states to adopt or to gain a majority on the supreme court. The Heler decision takes the ability away from almost everyone to actually fix the problem.
  8. Jeffrey Skilling at Enron did the physical rebrand before Bezos. I don't think people look enough at him as a direct model for Elon in market manipulation and management approach.
  9. No one said it wasn't that bad. All I did was note the historical correlation and some of y'all got really triggered by it. If you don't want to talk about it in the thread then don't talk about but let's not make shit up about what people said to make your point.
  10. Oh ok. So we can just whitewash the fact we took the creators of the V2 terror program that killed 9k brits and 12k laborers because we won the war. Stop being such a pussy and acknowledge the ugly contradiction of american space superiority. This is our history. A brutal and unfortunate reality but a reality nonetheless. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip
  11. Elon isn't building concentration camps either. Dude is just a nazi like the scientific foundation of our rocket and space industry. I don't like elon but it's just the unpleasant reality of the US space and missile program.
  12. How do you reconcile the role that Nazi scientists had in building NASA to what it is today?
  13. Yeah, it's kinda hard to hate nazis and love the us space program given whose work made the moon landing possible.
  14. What does "close the border" actually mean? Does that include lawful entry for visa holders and US citizens?
  15. Yeah I found the description. I mean let's see how it's explained. This is the story as I understand it: They tested the gun and it eventually fired without pulling the trigger but the inspectors said that was because of damage caused to the gun from previous tests. That should have ended this whole thing right there. Then some other experts put this broken gun back together and have concluded there is no way it could have fired. I'm a bit skeptical in how confident you could possibly be in that conclusion given it came from analyzing a broken gun that did fire in previous testing without pulling the trigger however I guess let's hear the details in the trial. It still seems like complete bullshit.
  16. So when do we find out what the new evidence against Baldwin is?
  17. Have they reported what type of vehicle it was?
  18. Years of hard drugs erode your heart health. He probably had a heart attack.
  19. It'll be interesting to see how many lame ducks there are next summer after the primaries.
  20. Pretty sure the average age of the DT is in the 90s.
