  1. Man they threw Kenn Starr out there to just burn the clock.
  2. With the fog that was reported in that area, you would not have to be going fast to avoid getting your roter blades clipped and then all it takes is for the cab to fall a modest amount for everyone to get crushed to death. There was no way that pilot was flying 130 mph in VFR without a landmark. You are going to owe me 1 testicle.
  3. I think this is my favorite SNL alum return.
  4. That’s according to flight data radar tracking. You take that with a giant grain of salt and wait for the info on the vehicle to be analyzed.
  5. We don't know how fast the copter was going. I think it's very unlikely he was moving very fast in those conditions after he lost his landmark of the highway. I assume there is a black box they can analyze to give us a better idea of what was going on.
  6. I thought the story in the men's rumble was pretty good but the wrestling with the women is more interesting. I feel like it's cause they actually sell moves.
  7. Sorry, I meant 35L but I should have used the other side 17R in the example. I looked at the trajectory again and you're right. Planes on approach would be too high up when downtown is between them and the airport for a 1000' tower to matter.
  8. By the end of the week, Trump will tweet or say that the senate can't remove him from office.
  9. Yep. Seems strange the last 2 haven't been identified by now. I wouldn't say that. You aren't looking at a black box readout. This is a remote radar tracking. It's possible you could have irregular readings during the crash.
  10. Where did you hear that? I think the underwear she wore to the exam the following day had another dude's sperm in it which she explained was because she grabbed dirty underwear which is gross but plausible. I didn't really want to get dragged into this part of the discussion but thought it was worth correcting this point.
  11. Seeing now Kobe didn't own it. It was not owned by Kobe Bryant. Island Express Holding, a charter company which goes by IEX Holding, is owned by Phillip DiFiore, of Long Beach, and has been in operation since 2011. DiFiore also owns Island Express Helicopters, which he has operated since 1986. DiFiore and his companies could not be reached for comment. Island Express appears to have taken down its website and social media profiles after the crash.
  12. Girls basketball coach Christina Mauser, left, was also killed in crash. Her husband Matt, right, wrote on Facebook: 'My kids and I are devastated. We lost our beautiful wife and mom today in a helicopter crash'
  13. To be fair, he has done a lot of philanthropy in both the US and China.
  14. I'm willing to bet Bolton also links certain other foreign policy decisions to his business interests.
  15. That's my understanding. Not sure if he employs the pilot directly or if he uses a company that provides the pilot that has their own liability. If not, poor widow will likely have some lawsuits from the surviving families. Hopefully everything can get worked out amicably.
  16. He was actually correctly following Hwy 101 for a while but when it curved left and then curved back right, he kept left and ended up following a crossroad.
  17. The pilot was just lost. He was following the highway then started following a random road and then turned off of that road into the hills.
  18. If you listen to the video I posted, it's pretty clear there was no mechanical failure. Pilot was too low and lost his way.
  19. Because Trump and co doesn't have time to spin this and make up some lie that fits arounds this. They already committed to a defense that is on record and they can't change it. It's also less time for GOP senators to find some bullshit reason not to call him. There is so much stuff already on the record that would be such a bigger deal if it came out dramatically in terms of timing like this.
  20. Disagree. This is really the perfect time for this to come out from Bolton.
  21. The issue at ABIA I believe is planes on approach from the north west that pass east over pflugerville to line up with 37L. A tall enough building in downtown would block line of sight of the plane to the port. Maybe one of the pilots on Surly can weigh in.
  22. Possible. A few planes have done it but they're moving much faster. VASP, Flight 168 F/O: Can you see there are some hills in front? CAPT: What? There's what? F/O: Some hills, isn't there? [Sound of impact] Vnokovo Airlines, Flight 2801 8:22:07 F/O So. How are we going for altitude? 8:22:09 NAV Three hundred, five metres. Descending! 8:22:13 F/O That's about five metres, is it not? 8:22:17 Radio altimeter warning, duration 6 seconds. 8:22:22 CA Horizon! 8:22:23 F/O Mountains!!!
