  1. I'll have to find the numbers I saw but I believe we were closer to 19% so different numbers/source. You know what's really frustrating is trying to current data analyzing cities in Texas on various factors... and when I say cities, I don't mean cities like Liberty Hill or Melissa, like some of these webpages define "cities". Show me the big ones... Houston, Austin, Dallas, SA, El Paso, Corpus, Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, Waco... etc. Let's see how they stack up. Interesting to view them then side by side with per capita spending.
  2. Well, last I checked, Austin spends more per capita on police that Houston, Dallas and San Antonio... also a greater % of our city on budget for police than Houston, Ft Worth, Arlington, Dallas, El Paso, SA
  3. Yup 2023 - APD get a record high budget "AUSTIN, Texas — The City of Austin’s proposed 2023-2024 budget is allocating $476.5 million to the Austin Police Department. That’s an increase from last year’s budget by nearly $32 million. The budget also includes giving civilian employees a four-percent pay increase." 2024 - budget raised again Specifically, the proposed police budget includes a 4% wage increase for civilian employees, $2.6 million for opening the Canyon Creek joint fire and EMS station and an additional $18.2 million for the Austin Police Department compared to the previous fiscal year.
  4. Have to admit that kind of magic kicks ass. Can he pull a David Copperfield and make the College Station "skyline" disappear? Still, imagine being so out of touch with reality that you have no idea that high school kids say bruh
  5. 12 days away from landfall? Step away from the doom scrolling. Model runs gonna model run.
  6. *Laughs knowingly in Italian* Before I lost a good chunk of weight, we were visiting my aunt and uncle in Rome... at the time, I had let my hair grow out longer. Upon seeing my hair, my aunt said, "I like your hair... it makes you look less fat"
  7. To be fair, if you've done your job properly from 0-18, they won't even consider aggy
  8. I keep hearing these tall tales about rain but...
  9. We had a 9 day streak by mid-July. Again, y'all are only looking at highs... highs don't tell the whole story but, whatever y'all... keep arguing nuance https://www.reuters.com/business/environment/2024-could-be-worlds-hottest-year-june-breaks-records-2024-07-08/
  10. They can go. They can pay. WTF are we talking about here!?
  11. Would it be cool to see them? Yes. Would I want to pay what it will take? F No.
  12. So you went and paid for your college education using similar numbers to today? If so, more power to you.
  13. Yeah, I'm down with this... if my kids want to go to school with kissin cousins in Arkie or dentally challenged students at OU, I can cope... its a hard no on aggy. Too weird. LoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooL
  14. I can't stand the insufferable douchebag but that's not his worst performance by any stretch. Why does he say sempre fi, though? Hey guys, let's talk about WOOOOOO PIG SOOOEEY the unrealized capital gains
  15. At first I thought you meant what a surprise they were dicks and then I got your meaning... oh yeah, we were regulars despite living a good 15 miles away. I know its shocking.
  16. Pretty sure the official numbers come from Bergstrom. ABIA is more rural and always has lower numbers. Yup... found it... https://www.kut.org/energy-environment/2023-08-22/camp-mabry-austin-airport-weather-station-temperatures "People have been recording the temperature at Camp Mabry since the late 1800s. Record-keeping started later at the airport."
  17. Maybe just banking on the name. Used to know the management staff at Dolce Vita and it sounded like they were not the biggest fans of the Katz's nearby.
  18. Also keep in mind nights are getting warmer... A recent New York Times analysis of nighttime low temperatures in America’s fastest growing cities, found that the number of abnormally hot nights in Austin has increased by 137% since the late 1900s. Austin now experiences 60 nights a year, on average, when the temperature never drops below 76 degrees. https://www.kut.org/austin/2024-08-19/hot-triple-digit-heat-temperature-austin-texas-summer
