  1. I would say sign me up but, yeah... I signed up for the "next best thing" when we moved back to Austin. Live music at the Continental Club on Friday night, lake Austin Saturday, Llano River Sunday... F living back in Houston again.
  2. How can this be? The system is rigged for the Biden family. Now... watch... "oh, this felony is different!"
  3. Speaking of CA the thought of beaches and skiing within reasonable reach plus SoCal weather... sign me up for that 1200 square foot house. I'll either be in the backyard or spending 90% of my time outdoors. So long as I'm stuck in Texas, wouldn't be anywhere else but Austin. And yeah even on this warming hellscape, you can catch me outdoors.
  4. Conner spelled with a K. Seems on-brand. Probably a big fan of homecooking from Karen's Kountry Kitchen in small town Texas.
  5. Second one is obvious ...unless the last name is Off or Offe
  6. Waiting for our fearless leader in Austin to explain why Austin is terrible. Don't sleep on Beaumont... just a few more spots to move into prime territory ahead of Dallas.
  7. To be fair, who really cares if someone has a roommate or not? Have you checked rent prices? Now... the rest of the story...
  8. Quite a few pockets of rain started popping up yesterday afternoon near Mason and it looks like it's spread overnight. Bunch of rain on the Llano watershed. Fingers crossed there should be more.
  9. We were out in Kingsland today. Thought about heading out to Perissos. It's such a great location and they really do a nice job. To me one of the best Texas wineries and yet they fly under the radar.
  10. Lifetime pool better be open
  11. So, works for a mosque too, right?
  12. These kind of LATAM values? "Rooted in the Mexican constitution's principles, every Mexican citizen is entitled to cost-free access to healthcare and medication."
  13. Strongly recommend visiting Franciacorta next time you are in Italy - so many great wineries. Had this the other day... really nice. I've always enjoyed their wines. This one was really really good.
  14. All the pictures look great. Rome is definitely a lot to take in... I've been 10 times or so because of family and there's still plenty I haven't seen. Case in point... those crowds at the Vatican are why I haven't been inside the Vatican museums. Just don't want to deal with it and when in Rome, we always seek quiet spots and lesser known areas. Not sure how it is these days but I always loved the relative peace of hanging out on the Palatine in the Forum.
  15. My regular reminder of why I have no interest in living in the hill country But Llano sure is pretty... nah!
  16. Yup. When I looked around and said, "y'all were pissed about Bill Clinton and his character but this guy is OK because he's your guy?" That was it. Never looked back.
  17. Man, there's nothing satisfying about any of those. Just awful. Awful for the people attacked... awful to see dog die. Not saying they didn't need to do but still not pleasant.
  18. I love Argentina... really do. Buenos Aires is one of the great cities of the world. Visited four times and loved it. The country has so much going for it... AND YET they repeatedly elect monumental idiots who screw everything up. Has a country ever had so much potential and consistently screwed up regardless of who is in power? I mean, seriously... they keep electing idiots.
  19. So if you're staying by the airport in Orange County for some meetings and have time to burn, any ideas? I'll probably just drive down to Newport Beach somewhere. Maybe watch someone die at the Wedge.
  20. Interesting about FLL The pollution in the Inland Empire (aka Ontario, Riverside, San Bernardino) is something else. Still remember the smog being soooo thick once that our plane was not able to land and had to circle back and give it another go. It was brutal.
  21. Can't say we've had enough rain to scale back the drought response. I mean, we're not nearly out of it... not even close.
