  1. Yeah, that was a racket... should have told him to F off. Did he get his money? “While I realize that no artwork lasts indefinitely, the original hope was that Moments would be maintained and kept in good repair for many years,” Trominski wrote in a letter to the city this year in support of removing the installation due to its deteriorating condition. “This and general site conditions have created an ongoing less-than-ideal situation for the original concept.” The artist has asked that no part of the piece be reused, except for recycling. He also asked to witness any demolition and that he get to keep one of the blue panels. “He would prefer that it not be up if it’s not going to sort of be what it was intended in the beginning,” said Wick, the collection manager for Moments.
  2. Yeah, so, uh where is that art today?
  3. At least he's not moving to Glasgow
  4. I would doubt it
  5. Totally... I hate watching the rains just pooooour in areas like Lampasas and Round Rock knowing not a lick of it will go in the lakes. On a side note, is the Pedernales the most worthless tributary to the highland lakes? Oh... look at all that rain! "Here's your 120 cfs"
  6. I just hope Liberty Hill has something to say... As Evil Mopac said, Liberty Hill is for people who find Leander too woke!
  7. Bruh... do you even best "cities" list?
  8. I was at Barton Springs Pool on Friday and can confirm there's also still some bad toplessness there
  9. He was 4 when she was born. Probably... I think... maybe... probably didn't happen with her.
  10. Well damn, Central Park doesn't have a cricket field or ample parking. OSP > Central Park. Plus, on a clear day you can squint and see Dell.
  11. What nostalgia. I was there this weekend... and last weekend. Zilker and the surrounding area kicks ass on so many levels. I don't have any issues unless you mean the feeling I get on my first dive into BSP #shrinkage. Yeah, I go to OSP occasionally too for soccer tournaments. The soccer fields are nice, especially for the kids when they play on 130 degree turf in August. But otherwise, its a big park in the middle of a suburb. I will agree with @jimmyjazz its hard to beat the views of Taco Bell or CVS when coming in on 79. Reminds me of Old Austin.
  12. Zilker... ewww... gross...
  13. Sandy Creek still flowing nicely. Water making its way down the Llano and Pedernales slowly rising at Hammett's Crossing.
  14. Round Rock is like Dallas Jr. Only thing y'all have over Austin is tornadoes and some overrated donut place. Do y'all even have a Chili's?
  15. Drop-in on Thursday at the Long Center Barton Springs Pool Friday evening swim Mountain biking in South Austin on Saturday Lake time on Sunday ...love it!
  16. Take it to the Dallas thread, loser
  17. Assumptions...
  18. Like WTF were they thinking?
  19. I always assumed the dude was wearing the pants and had his hand behind his back. I'm going to go with that because the real story is too creepy. But the worst is the Blind Faith album... you know which one. No, I'm not posting it.
  20. Just before we moved here, we came to town in July 2019 and spent a weekend farting around at Gus Fruh... just floating around and using the rope swing. Need some of that back.
  21. Man, y'all can sell a road trip. Yeah, its going to suck. My fault. I kind of suggested it. Well, I suggested New Mexico again but my wife was like, "I need the beach" and Texas ain't going to do it. So. Yeah, there we are? Why not the panhandle? Family and such.
  22. Going to the Little Mermaid statue is like going to the SRV statue. I mean, its fine and all but, you know. Its fine. Love SRV... don't @ me I remember enjoying going out to Kronoberg Castle - easy train ride. Here's a weird suggestion - https://www.warpigs.dk/ - met a friend who was living in Copenhagen. Just go enjoy it for what it is without the real Texas lens.
