  1. Yeah... it can be an absolute blessing or curse depending on the weather conditions. The good news on Serre is that it is famous for tree skiing, too and if the weather sucks, there's plenty below treeline: https://www.shipskis.com/blog/5-top-resorts-for-tree-skiing-around-the-world/ but I have stayed in places like Obergurgl where the base of the mountain was 1930 meters so tree skiing was pretty much non-existent. I will say that if you want to try skiing in Europe, I really like Serre. Can recommend other places but the one exposure I had to it blew me away. On a side note... "A huge ski area of nearly 4,000 hectares, Serre Chevalier ski resort extends for 15km along the valley to include the towns of BrianΓ§on, St Chaffrey, Chantemerle, La Salle Les Alpes and Le MonΓͺtier-les-Bains. More than just a ski resort, the area's wonderful history is best expressed in the old Vauban Fort that dominates the skyline above Briancon. The fort's main street, the Grande Rue, was originally constructed in the year AD1345!" 4,000 hectares = 9,800 acres. Whistler Blackcomb is 8,171 acres.

Freak Slug is one I'd like to see. Really like this song... Molotovs sound good. Maruja looks intense.

  4. So excited... went ahead and booked a private guide for a day to take my son and I freeriding in Serre Chevalier. This is a great article discussing some of the better locations/lines: https://wepowder.com/fr/weblog/2021/09/14/the-best-freeride-lines-in-serre-chevalier Lots of good tree skiing And a majority of Euros love staying on piste so the ones who like to go off piste get the goods since a lot of areas are massive and can stay untracked for a long time...
  5. Sorry but the Elizabet Ney is a gem... maybe it is incorporating the art and cleaning up the grounds. I've seen that they try to keep them relatively wild and full of native plants throughout the year. It could certainly look better.

I'm going to try to hit that one - what time is Larkin Poe? Plan on sneaking over for "lunch"

  10. Bend is a kick ass town. Only saw Bachelor in the summer and seeing the lava strewn runs just looked fascinating to me. 116" tells me exposed rocks shouldn't be an issue but I would think you can get some brutal core shots there. Also, top of the mountain looks cool but I hear that top lift doesn't run a lot which would suck.
  11. Yeah, that place has been shuttered for a while. Honestly, I did all that stuff when I was in a fraternity because I guess that's what you're supposed to do but, yeah, not really me. Anyway, if you go to the Austin Music Awards on Sunday, I owe you a beer.
  12. LOL. Not going to Dessau Hall this weekend?

  14. I'll be honest that I haven't thought much about Brooks & Dunn since I was going to local UT events with Mark Chesnutt and dancing to the likes of Dwight Yoakum and John Anderson. It was a brief period in time for me but I still have my Red Wings.

  16. Lol... look at the people traversing to the bootpack...
  17. The East Wall looks like amazing... From A-Basin's FB account. Check out the turns off of Willy's Wide. That hike is an ass-kicker but conditions look better than the last time I did it.
  18. Is "great" ironic?
  19. Went ahead and got tickets. Always a bang for the buck. Next Sunday.
  20. Are you for real? Do you take part in any sporting activity? As for it being a workout, that can definitely be true. A good sports massage will kick your ass and it's worth paying for it.
