  1. I don't know how strong this storm will be but in these days of warming waters, I would always assume a storm will be stronger than anticipated. Rapid intensification is a bitch.
  2. I don't know about SA but it does seem like there is more activity in the Austin area to try to save land. Glad to see bond money and the Nature Conservancy trying to save what they can. This is a derail I really hope Donald says something so utterly absurd that the small % of undecided voters snap out of it. What is that? I don't know... it seems like it is different for each person. All his craziness somehow is not a trigger point until ONE thing happens. Like Arlington National Cemetery. Or the "child care" answer and that one person who asked it. May there be many ONE things tonight.
  3. Drive from Austin through Texas... you drive through one dump after another. Towns that are falling apart and in terrible shape and yet they keep voting for the same R leadership over and over again. Drive through places like Santa Anna (which has potential based on the scenic location, in my dumb opinion) and its falling apart but by God, Trump signs a plenty. What is someone like Donald doing for them? Nothing. And yet Coleman county was 88% for Trump in 2020. Same for state leadership.
  4. Oh, I really like this... this needs to be adopted, along with Deplorean.
  5. Working with the window open in my home office. Maybe the last morning to do that?
  6. To be honest, US history is really pretty shitty if you're not white. Its pretty factual based on slavery, Native American extermination, eradication of the buffalo (to subdue the Native Americans), Jim Crow, etc etc. Lots of bad history. Some people want us to pretend it never happened. Shoot... I just saw a documentary on the endangered ocelots of Texas and they shoed how the government funded wholesale slaughter of jaguars, pumas, wolves, etc in Texas. Had no idea we once had jaguars in Texas. Well, we killed every single one. At least there are more people today looking to learn from our mistakes and make some decisions to not repeat history. Are they the majority? Maybe. Hopefully those people can vote to bring Harris over the line.
  7. Not even a smile or a lick of emotion. What a dick.
  8. No no no SEC chant. Nope. Maybe against aggy but otherwise no.
  9. Definitely do not look in that box. There is nothing in that box. DONT LOOK IN THAT BOX!?!?
  10. Just takes one
  11. Just took a walk lunch and, for Austin... in early September? This kicks so much ass!
  12. I mean... you know... there's some truth to this.

  17. Seriously y'all... I think AI is going to take over the world. You can't tell what's real and what is ChatGPT... Dear Houston Chronicle, As a proud member of the Texas A&M Aggie family, I feel compelled to voice my concerns about the increasingly overwhelming influence that t.u. and their Longhorn football program have over the college football landscape in our great state. It's no secret that the sips have always tried to dominate the conversation, but enough is enough! Despite the Aggies' hard work, tradition, and success on the field, it seems like the media, including the Chronicle, can't resist giving t.u. more attention than they deserve. While they might be soaking up the spotlight, the real story is happening in College Station, where we are building something special. As the great oracle Billy Liucci has often pointed out, the Aggies are on the rise, and it's time the media took notice. The influence of the Longhorns on everything from recruiting to conference realignment has gone too far. While they're busy trying to control the narrative, we're focused on making noise where it really counts—on the gridiron. But you wouldn't know that from reading most media outlets, would you? It's high time the Chronicle started giving credit where it's due and recognized the true football power in Texas—Texas A&M. And let’s not forget, the Aggie Spirit is something that the sips can never match. Our traditions, like the 12th Man and Midnight Yell, define what it means to be a part of the Aggie family. While the sips might be sipping on their own hype, we’re building a legacy that will stand the test of time. Whoop! I hope that in the future, the Chronicle will strive for a more balanced coverage of Texas college football. We Aggies deserve to have our voices heard, and we’re not going to sit quietly while t.u. continues to try to overshadow us. Gig ‘em and Whoop! Sincerely, [Your Name] Proud Texas Aggie
  18. As far as my parents/bro, I'm certainly the only one voting Harris. I spend so much time fact-checking the garbage my dad comes across...
  19. Good to rewatch that Rose Bowl... got to see it in person in Pasadena. I had convinced my wife that we had to go since it was a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to go to the Rose Bowl... until the next year.
  20. Forecasts are 2-3 feet when all said and done.
  21. Yup... you know you might speak one way in NY or even Houston but when you're talking to someone in a backwoods like Winters, your long-lost Texas accent pops in to say howdy!
