  1. Speaking of dipshits, today I saw my friend's sister posting some QAnon crap about the sniper being told by SS not to take the shot. Her comment was "thank God he disobeyed orders". WTF. People are idiots although we already know this. https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-trump-shooting-secret-service-334166850448
  2. Hey, who's going to Hot Summer Nights this weekend?
  3. Limit the number of day trippers. Overnight guests can stay. Coming for the day? Only so many get in.
  4. It's funny that people think switching candidates won't immediately lead to Republican legislatures trying to boot the Republican candidate off of the ballots. It's so obviously predictable and all y'all are falling for it. Wasn't one state trying to remove Biden from the ballot because of the timing of the DMC? If a new candidate is announced, they won't certify shit.
  5. I know I know. I need to write some thoughts. But I'll stick with my usual idea... go where not everyone else is going. Rent a car, explore, pay less, eat well and enjoy yourself. Until I post more, here is a picture of one of my favorite beaches from the trip... Vignanotica on the Gargano peninsula. Weather that day was meh but the cliff side location was beautiful. Also, had a chance to see the first leg of the Tour de France from the road up to Passo Barbotto in Mercato Saraceno. Was a very cool experience! Lots of tourists in town for the Tour.
  6. Never noticed
  7. Yeah, so that's what I've noticed. Maybe my friend set is more rational (doubtful) but I see very little talk about it on FB. Just three people spouting stuff on FB the day of... one said some stupid stuff and 80% of the replies to him were like, "dude, you're better than this" and people seemed rational. Another person really just picked on the SS and their failure. Literally never made it political which was surprising. The other like to poke the bear so whatever. Otherwise, it feels like people just went back to their lives and ignored it. Am I the only one seeing this? On the left it was a lot of "this is not OK - no violence" and once Trump was back to playing golf, they were saying that the message has not changed. I don't think this moves the needle for anyone not already in his corner. It feel like average people are ignoring it or maybe saying "you reap what you sew". Mind you - I'm not on Twitter. That's always a cesspool so what's new?
  8. Literally never had a single enchilada or any of the usual "covered with cheese" Tex-Mex stuff. But for people watching, the patio on Guero's is the way to go. Get yourself a margarita, load up on jalapenos from the salsa bar, enjoy some queso and a couple of tacos. Then catch a show in the garden. All good to me. In the Oak Garden, that is correct.
  9. We can disagree on that. Know how to order. I've never, not once, ordered standard Tex-Mex fare on that menu. Tacos or salads. That's it. Nothing else, ever. Oh... but lots of beverages.
  10. He has always thought he was invincible. He thought so after Covid. He thinks so now. What's different?
  11. Went to Natural Gardner yesterday to get some tomatoes to plant for the fall. Didn't like what I saw... only two varieties. Then went to HEB and saw some leftover tomatoes at .20 each. Bought three Champion and one other one. A little rough looking but dug holes deep, planted them with some humates and Hastagrow and have them under shade cloth for the worst days. What are my odds of success? Only .80 financial outlay
  12. Sunday morning... weather was actually really nice and we headed over to BSP to pretend we're at the beach. Never gets old. Quick drive over to Guero's for lunch on the front patio. Hook it up to my veins.
  13. Exactly and right now a lot of people are really fed up with violent talk. So, that may be his undoing. At the same time, it may fire up the worst of his base. We'll see. Yes, his based likes it but I know of someone on my street who has R leanings who now is like, "F it... I don't want to vote for either of them". It may also drive D turnout. I don't know. Who knows anymore!?
  14. It feels like his own words and whatever the speakers at the RNC say this week may eliminate his uptick in polls. Gut feeling.
  15. I'm starting to see people really flustered with all the talk of the violence and upset that we're in this moment. If they bother to pay attention and are really upset about the violence, they will hear one party keep pushing violent rhetoric and one not. Maybe they'll figure out the right way to vote based on that. They are more likely to pay attention that the 20-year old was a loner with right-leaning sensibilities who went and bought a gun that the Democrats have asked to outlaw. There's hope reasonable people will get off the fence. The ones who are all "BiDEn dID It!?" were voting for Trump anyway.
  16. NBC News reports said that members of the crowd started turning on the press. Calling them fake news. You don't say? Footage shows people getting angry, yelling, etc.
  17. Got back from an extended trip to Italy. I drive s lot while there. A LOT. Maybe saw five Tesla's. There's no love for them there. I saw more Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds that Teslas.
  18. This was the start of leaving our church and questioning it's priorities... different church but I could see everything was about show and spectacle and growth growth growth but little about Jesus. Anyhow, friends on FB in our old part of town still bitching about the power situation. What a mess.
  19. I've noticed the new talking point among Rs right now is "LOL project 2025 doesn't exist"... "you're making this up"... "QAnon for Lefties" I show them the link, make it clear no one is hiding it and... yup, they ignore it.
  20. Its funny... after watching the ice storm and Austin Energy, I can only look to the southeast and think that even Austin Energy handles things better than CenterPoint. That's saying a lot.
  21. Richmond on both side of the Beltway is a beast... but moreso on the west side. Between Wilcrest and BW8 it is a rim buster.
  22. Good news for Greg Abbott... he'll win Hunt County next time, too... (2022 results)
  23. Back from Italy... much to share after 20 days. Tired though, so tired. Averaged about 18,000 steps a day yet still managed to drive a ton, too.
