New Orleans Food and Drink Thread
Enjoyed the quality combo of Tin Roof (nice craft cocktail bar on the roof of the Pontchartrain hotel) and Igor's (quality dive bar/laundromat). Definitely a yin yang drinking experience and recommend both for very different reasons.

Not totally sure what softshell means but I wear pants by Analog (maybe Burton owns them now) and ColourWear which is a random Swedish brand. Had both for years. Lots of good options honestly. Check out Backcountry.com

Google how much of our fruit and veg comes from Mexico. Then cry. I think I'll buy some tequila today to help me cope.

New Orleans Food and Drink Thread
Allright... I'll bring this here... question I asked elsewhere is I really like to walk. We were originally in the garden district but had to change to a different location. We are now staying the location below... which directions are safe to walk at various times of the day? I'm assuming down to St. Charles is good. Feels like going north towards the French Quarter should be fine (although train stations are not ideal, usually... don't know NO)... same with south towards the Garden District. East maybe OK. West, no bueno. Haven't been to New Orleans since Texas vs Tulane.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
If you want to feel drastically better about our construction woes, you should drive through the center of Taos, NM sometime. It has a been a variation of this since the popular insurrection and murder of Governor Charles Bent...

New Orleans recommendations (one night)
Good news were 1 1/2 blocks from St. Charles. I'll be Ubering from the airport and there are 10 of us together but, again, I like to walk. Better do it with a scowl.

The Italy Thread
Sometimes. Talk to locals and they'll tell you that not every Autovelox has a camera in it. Sometimes they move them around, sometimes they get stolen. Most rentals have navigators that note them on the map. The highways have a Safety Tutor system for speeding but somehow a ton of people don't get tickets for hauling ass. I'm usually skirting about 10 kilometers per hour over the limit on the autostrada. Somehow never gotten a ticket. Parking? Different story. Don't get one. It can be a gargantuan PITA (and I speak Italian)

The Italy Thread
@BlueGreySky Go spend some time in Maremma... can personally suggest Talamone, the Argentario Peninsula (Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano... also Orbetello is not too bad), go explore wineries in the countryside... you have lots of options. Cala Violina is supposed to be beautiful. Punta Ala, as well. Capalbio is supposed to be very cool. As you head into Lazio, you have Tarquinia, famous for its thermal baths, Cerveteri, famous for its Etruscan ruins, etc. Lots to see. No secret I go to Italy a lot... last train I took in Italy was in 2005. Drive. Your options will be endless.

Concerts you are attending
I go the code two days ago and then none of the pages let me even get to a place where I can enter a code to get in. Weird. I was going to buy tickets to COIN... was really looking forward to seeing them live. Welp - https://parade.com/news/coin-lead-singer-chase-lawrence-announces-band-breakup

Soup, Stew, Chili, Gumbo (Cold weather eats)
Made a big pot of ragù last night. I used to always make it without peas but many trips to Romagna have taught me to love it with peas. Had enough for last night's pasta and frozen four more portions.
