  1. ... definitely to be seen live
  2. You could go buy Zignum... it is the worst expression of mezcal I've ever had as it didn't taste like mezcal, at all. Turrible. https://tastetequila.com/2011/mezcal-dressed-as-tequila-a-good-honest-drink/
  3. The stock market... how does it work? Who could have predicted this given the company's stellar financials?
  4. When we lived in Houston, I had three La Michoacanas within easy reach. Now that I'm in Austin, I need a new one or some kickass carniceria but that Michoacana marinade was the best!
  5. Reminds me of this dumbass I see at the gym wearing a God, Guns and Gainz shirt.
  6. Yup. The amount of water wasted on pretty green St. Augustine in dry Austin is brutal. My yard is mostly xeriscaped with maybe 10% of the front/back made up of St. Augustine... maybe 10%. I shut off my irrigation in October and have yet to turn it on. The grass is the least of my worries. Love my water bills during the less hot months.
  7. I have a pechuga mezcal I bought in Mexico City that is much more approachable save for the $200 price tag in the US
  8. Enjoyed the Bright Light Social Hour/Mo Lowda show at the Scoot Inn. I was so happy we got there early enough to grab a spot right at the rail. Then my wife says, "hey can we upgrade to those spots on the rail?" which we did. Admittedly we had a good view and sat next to the parents of The Mammoths but I would have preferred to have been right up front. That and the constant yappers by the bar were a killer. Whyyyyy are you at a show? Shut up!?
  9. Ate too much for lunch and one thing I learned in CDMX is the brilliance of a post meal mezcal
  10. That guy sucks! Was thinking of Pinochet... what medals exactly would a Chilean soldier/general wear from their "action" from the 1950s to the 1970s or so? Not much other than a few little skirmishes. Just curious. Are they more like merit badges?
  11. He certainly uses words like inflection that Trump think mean infection (rightfully so)
  12. If it makes it easier to watch, yay... but please don't cheese it up.
  13. Appraisal down 20% in a neighborhood where I can probably get last year's appraised price. Same goes for my neighbors. Not complaining. SW Austin.
  14. My dad was about to buy some lithium rechargeable battery charger for under $4.00 and I told him to keep away from that Temu garbage unless he wants to have the charger burn the house down.
  15. Noticed The Mammoths are the opener before the opener for The Bright Light Social Hour. Sound really good.
  16. a) Gotta work on learning how to self-arrest, my dude b) WTF... that first turn was literally right into a rock. Ok... ok... ok... I see lots of open snow on my right, lemme put my tip on this shark fin over here on the left.
  17. Yup... we spent so much time in town and by in town I mean between Ben White and campus that living in Lakeway would have been awful. In fact, one of the worst parts of taking a roadtrip to the Rockies is getting through F'ing Lakeway. Today I'm 15 minutes from Zilker/downtown. In Lakeway, I would've been 15 minutes from Karens in Bee Cave.
  18. Yeah man I need to buy tickets for Air. Close to pulling the trigger on Adam Ant but my wife may nix it since I just bought tix for Echo & The Bunnymen. Hmmm... scheming.
  19. We looked at several houses in the Lakeway area when we decided to move back to Austin. I'll never forget one of my friends warning me about the culture there. In essence, he said that the obsession with sports and football almost trumped everything else at Lake Travis. This was coming from a guy with deep athletic genes running through the family with boys playing across various varsity sports. One night, we went to dinner in Lakeway and I looked around and said, "man... everyone looks exactly the same." We realized, yeah, Lakeway is not going to be for us. Bullet dodged. Oh... and I have a kid with peanut allergies... mild but has them... hope the family rakes them over the coals.
