  1. I hate all of you...
  2. Can't speak to NY but I don't believe CA has a higher property tax rate as it can't be greater than 1 % https://www.hrblock.com/tax-center/filing/states/property-tax-california/
  3. Cool... I like the idea of the rail up there. I normally like being in the depths of the crowd right up front but I'm not sure if my group will want to do that so the rail is the next best option. DJ Shadow will be great!
  4. Also, look into this place... https://www.austinchronicle.com/food/2023-07-14/rose-gose-brings-continental-flair-to-austin/
  5. Walked past there last night... was wondering about the show. So, to get to the top rail, how early do you have to get there? Thinking of DJ Shadow in October. Haven't been to Mohawk in a minute.
  6. Weather is going to suck on Sunday... allegedly... so plan accordingly. You could try Epicerie... https://www.epicerieaustin.com/ No reservations, just luck.
  7. Has to be - maybe they'll be the weekend closer like Odesza was last year. Should be a blast.
  8. I have no comment... watching that... looks like an absolute idiot being devoured by a spider.
  9. Echo & The Bunnymen last night at Stubb's. Great show. Ian had quite a bit of banter with the crowd, when you could understand it. Seemed like he got pissed at the sound guys a few times. Anyway, great show... good to catch them on the start of the tour when the voice and attitude is good to go.
  10. They're going to put on a good show...
  11. At least the upside with Bob Schneider is seeing him around here is relatively easy. I was pissed to see DAIISTAR and Being Dead on weekend two but, honestly, I can catch them relatively easily in Austin. Chances of catching a relatively obscure band like Glass Beams from Melbourne are relatively slim and none. I also like seeing bands that I might not consider seeing live but, you know, since I'm there... and when you dig, you find someone like this (new to me) Or you hear this and say, "oh yeah, I know that song..."
  12. Best thing I ever did a few years ago is open my mind to lots of new music and bands. I never run out of good music to listen depending on my mood. Now, my wallet... that's another story.
  13. Just bought tickets to The Struts this July. Should be a fun show at Stubb's.
  14. I see all kinds of great bands up and down the lineup. If you like Khruangbin, check out Glass Beams and BALTHVS while there. Its going to be a kickass festival because I can find gold all over that lineup. BTW, Mannequin Pussy should be great!
  15. Are we seriously having a pissing match over the term rain bomb?
  16. What water source was used before or will be used now? Serious question... I don't know.
  17. I remember fighting my drains outside... they simply couldn't keep up with all the rain and at one point we got 5" in one hour and I remember just yelling "JUST STOOOOP!!!!" at the rain. It didn't work.
  18. ...and McCallum does have a great reputation for their music program. For AISD, Bowie and McCallum are the better programs until you start looking at Leander, RR, etc. Again, one hopes that helps with "next steps"
  19. I have to think for music Bowie (our kids) helps too given the intensity and quality of the marching band program.
  20. Even in Houston we got 11" of rain at our house. But that Memorial Day flood...
  21. Well, I chose Italian but that's because I placed out of a bunch of hours...
