  1. The Italians tend to reserve their choice words for anyone from the African continent. They're not big fans of Albanians or Romanians either.

Free RSVP. No clue who these bands are - all from Montreal. Maybe they'll serve poutine. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/m-pour-montreal-pop-montreal-official-sxsw-showcases-tickets-1242614857489
  3. Side note on CB. Rambo sucks. I've looked over and see no reason to ski it. Locals will tell you... "Those who can, don't. Those who do, shouldn't". Want a last challenge? Ski over to the next run, Pinball. F Rambo.
  4. Yeah, sometimes... (not me)

when they do, its probably this...
  6. For any of you lucky to go to CB this year and who like to push yourself, these are great guides (below). If you can, join the Steeps Program one day with a guide... I think it is under $200 and they'll show you around the mountain... absolutely worth it. I've done it twice at CB. One time it was me and the guide. The other time it was just two of us. I would say you need to be level 8/9 to properly take advantage of the program... The two times I've done it wasn't always super clear where we were although I specifically remember we did go into Teo Bowl, all over North Face/Hawks Nest/Old Pro, parts of Spellbound Bowl, Last Steep, Headwall, Powder 8 Gully, Big Chute, Peel. The better the snow, the happier you will be. Teo Bowl is absolutely worth it but you have to hike out. If the snow is good, there are some great little gladed spots between Silver Queen and Ruby Road. They can hold snow and you can get a few quick steep turns and drop onto Ruby Road (watch out below for cross traffic). Avoid Robel's - it sucks. Again, do not F around in the bowls if you don't know where you are going. One wrong turn can take you to Last Steep (double but fine) or Cesspool (not fine) North Face - https://gunnisoncrestedbutte.com/blog/a-guide-to-skiing-the-north-face/ High Lift - https://gunnisoncrestedbutte.com/blog/skiing-crested-butte-extremes-from-the-high-lift/ East River - https://gunnisoncrestedbutte.com/blog/glade-skiing/# (fun area) Paradise Express - https://gunnisoncrestedbutte.com/blog/intermediate-and-advanced-crested-butte-skiing-from-paradise-express-lift/ Best Doubles - https://gunnisoncrestedbutte.com/blog/best-double-black-ski-runs-at-crested-butte/
  7. I mean, there's "a bit" of racism in Spain. Same goes for Italy. You should see the stuff my uncle in Rome sends me.

Another one - $10. Impressed that a band came up with the name "P*rn on the Cob"
  9. Those bumps under Ruby Road are fun! Best mountain Colorado. My son's first DD was on the North Face. It was a proud moment for me.
  10. Its that rock strewn field just under Peak and the Banana High entrance. Bring your rock skis.
  11. We took one trip to Purgatory back in 2021... I thought it was pretty nice. What's great about Purgatory is that if you are a good skier, you can enjoy lots of great runs with very little competition. Lots of Texans go to Purgatory. Yes, I know... I live in Texas... but what I'm saying is lots of Texans who ski like Texans go to Purgatory. That means you can ride the first lift up, head over to the backside and run laps on some of the more challenging runs, often by yourself. Same goes for some on the front side but then you have to start from the base. Plus, Durango is a great town!
  12. Yup, snow is coming down on Circle C Bowl. lifts spinning at 9:00! Hike-to-terrain will be open at noon when the gates open to Escarpment chute.

No worries... we are slightly opinionated when it comes to our food It like me telling a guitar player "this guitar is basically like that one". My son who is an OK musician will get into arguments with me about the tone of a telecaster.

Austin Rhythm one... mostly unknown to me so I feel confident most of what you're seeing here is not local. For the one at Colton House, I recognize a handful... go see Rattlesnake Milk. Anyway, I personally love discovering new bands. This one's good and local... have seen three bands on here... will be interesting to see the set times.

I'm sorry y'all... kept reading about La Traviata and I thought I would look this up... Feeling borderline homicidal. Onions and cream in Carbonara? Bolognese served with 1) spaghetti and 2) spinach? 3) a touch of cream? "But dago, what is wrong with you? These are fine..." OK... "Texas Chili with beans and bell pepper" or "Brisket served with a side of ranch"
  22. 14:30 on Canal+
  23. Honestly probably good enough. I'm just a big fan of having lenses that overperform in bad weather. Learned my lesson the hard way in very flat conditions. If you're going to lean in one direction on a set of goggles, shoot for a pair that covers flat light. My opinion.
  24. You can get decent Spy goggles with replacement lenses for under $200. Also check end of season deals on Backcountry.
