Check out UNC. Hell, just go take a tour of the whole research triangle. Virginia is also a great school.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
You guys should know that when you’re arguing with hornlife, you’re arguing with a person with serious health issues, which may or may not be effecting his cognitive abilities. He’s alluded to it here before and in other threads. Do with that information what you will.

Damn. I would have bet money on pinkel at Missouri. And I was way off on Oklahoma state. Who the fuck is/was bob simmons lol. Well he’s old, so I’m sure they make him nervous.

I dunno. It might been before that. Part of me wants to say he was just at OU a year, and stoops first year was 1999.

My biggest difficulty was that I don’t know when leach was named coach at tech. The difference in coaches between 2000 and 2002 or 2003 makes a difference.

I’ll take a stab. I need something to distract me from my wife’s driving. frank Solich, Bill Snyder, Mike Gundy, Bob Stoops, Mack Brown, Mike Sherman…in drawing a blank on Kansas and Iowa State, I’ll take a stab that Missouri was Gary Pinkel, obligatory fuck Gary Barnett, and Baylor was either Guy Morris’s or Kevin Steele. I think Steele. And of course Leach replaced Spyke Dykes. of course Kansas at could be the Ron Prince era, and maybe Nebraska had already moved onto Pelini Piss Pants. im guessing I got at least 2/3 of that right.

Everyone knows the fucking quote, dude. It doesn’t change the fact that, particularly in today’s modern age of football, it is an outdated and bad take. And trying to legitimately use it to justify modern football behavior is rightly mocked.

Clearly I’m having a brain fart. What was the name of the shitty Arkansas safety transfer? Last name was certainly Catalon?

Fun thread, kudos for starting it. Judkins was viewed as a cancer or at least a prick and they did not work to retain him. Kiffin said good riddance on twitter. You can like Finkley and Crawford all you want, but they were not guys we tried to retain. They were flawed players who were never going to be anything here other than a teeener and a special teams demon. Terrence Brooks sucked and it did not hurt to lose him. The guy and his dad came to Texas asking for more money and we laughed and said good luck. He’d already lost his starting job to Muhammad by the end of his last season. in regards to the overall conversation, I think damn near every guy we’ve gotten was someone the other team wanted to retain. Ok, maybe not all of them. Norton and the other DT two years ago who sucked, but Norton ended up being a great pickup. Watson from Syracuse, Brevard, Endries, Matthew Golden, Isiah Bond, even Duke Catalon, all were viewed as big time gets to varying degrees as well as all the other folks mentioned.

Listen guys, I'd like to say it's not his fault, because he's brain damaged. But he's not brain damaged, he's just really fucking stupid and does a fuck ton of drugs and is really fucking stupid. Had to be said twice.

I hope you're carrying bear mace and maybe a blunderbuss or something. Being 10 feet from a big bear and counting on it being startled doesn't seem like a good long term plan.

TRAVEL: Points, Miles, Discounts, Tips, Advice & Questions
Anyone have any good suggestions for a replacement for the Chase Sapphire card? They're upping the annual fee, and while the benefits are great, my wife and I have started trying to pay for things in cash as opposed to a credit card.

Financial Goals in 2025
My BIL runs a machinist shop. His #1 headache, other than his business partner's general uselessness, is dealing with machinist labor. They're mostly unreliable, and he's forever trying to find ones that can be relied on or cycling through them. So, it might not be as easy as you think.

I should probably just take the rest of the afternoon off, and/or maybe just spend the rest of the afternoon trying to read Texags, but earnestly. That would be less painful than this shit.

Sub-Educated Cretins: The SEC screenshot mega-thread
Ohio State doesn't play in the SEC. By the way, neither is GA. They're still ranked higher than us. They have 20 4 stars to our 12, granted a much bigger class. Even if you take away our 3 specialists, their average star ranking might still be higher than ours. They're lying children with no concept of reality.

Sub-Educated Cretins: The SEC screenshot mega-thread
You underestimate the ability for human beings to lie to themselves. 90% of these motherfuckers actually believe they played the game clean, and didn't pay for players to go to their schools. And the 10% who did know, directly, that they were paying players, tell themselves that everyone was paying players so they weren't doing anything different, and the differentiator was their development and culture and ability to get kids drafted and blah fucking blah. They don't like it when you say "Well, if everyone was paying players back then, then why wasn't Texas getting any elite players? Things seem to look different now that paying players is legal, right?" Or, in other words, they're all fucking lying dipshits.
