Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
It's only oppressive if anyone signs with Florida State, and they won't.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Yeah. And how's their bust rate, and who have they lost to the portal? I don't know, but I'd have a hard time ANYONE has done better at retention/development than Texas has at this point.

July 4th Hill Country Flooding Tragedy
You did a lot of lobbying for this kind of post being separated from the rain threads, and well, this is the thread for discussing the disaster, who to blame, etc, and comment on it. So as tiresome and hyperbolic as the guy is about this shit, he's posting in the right place. It's tiresome, because on some level, he's right and we know it and don't like hearing it spelled out over and over and over again.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
The Lotts are as bad, or even fucking worse, to be honest, than the Brocks. They've benefited from being Texas alums, and the program is currently maximizing all talent and developing it for the NFL at an unprecedented level since I've been following Texas football. At least when the Brocks laughed at Texas, Texas fucking sucked and weren't developing fucking shit at his position group. Of course, no one else developed the Brocks either, but the point here is that Lott can get all the way fucked, and so can his kid. But pretty sure if the dad had pushed him to go to Texas, he would have...

Where it's really falling apart for you is that you're trying to ascribe rationality to something that is entirely based on faith. Those two things, by their own definitions, are diametrically opposed. Where it falls apart for me was the concept that people could live a good life and still go to hell because they didn't believe the right way, or at all. Or that an all knowing God wouldn't forgive those people simply because they were born in the wrong part of the world and weren't exposed to the "right" religion, yet pretty much all the world's religions all say some version of "If you're not worshipping OUR way, you're going to hell." Maybe not Judaism, I'm not at all versed. But y'all get the point. The next step for me was, "If that truly IS the mandate of an all knowing God, then what kind of God is he truly?" I find it unlikely a divine omnipotence would behave accordingly, and if so he can fuck off. Therefore I find it much more likely no one here has it even close to right, and it's much more statistically likely this is a bunch of made up nonsense no different than the Greek Gods or worshipping the sun and stars. Or the message was corrupted by the prophets spreading the word and we're doing little right, or there simply isn't any God. Humans, historically, have to create something to explain what they don't understand or can't/don't want to comprehend. Which is why I vacillate between agnostic and atheistic most days. Which becomes easier and easier as I continue to witness the cruelty of pretty much every church out there, these days.

Floods - how you can help
Thanks. I have my receipt and trust I filled things out properly, that being said, that's a janky looking website and I'd love a list we can compare against to make sure nothing was lost in between. Yes, I know you're not Bob Lives, just talking out loud.

Sorry Nicole. She lived in our neighborhood and there's a chance my wife knows your cousin from her school.

2025 Thread of the Rains
I follow a site on FB called "Does the Greenbelt Have Water." They showed plenty of videos of a wet greenbelt. Sir, this isn't news. This is just a political opinion. You're in the wrong place.

If you're going to care for your mom, I'm not sure but you might want to consider a sit down tub. It won't help the Air BnB Value, but it might be something to consider.

Does that mean that there's no amount of evidence that can convince you of anything or make you question anything unless it's first-hand evidence? And no, you didn't say "from what is reported." You said:

OU Recruiting 2026: Burnt Vegetables
Reminder to all that Ian Boyd isn’t an insider. He’s a former school teacher in Michigan, who now writes a nerd blog about football “strategy” and writes voluminous wrongheaded bullshit for IT. Does this sound like a guy who has Sources…anywhere…much less at OU? If he’s claiming anything it’s because someone at IT told him something. The only time I’d listen to anything Ian Boyd said is if I was mortally wounded and needed something to help me drift off to sweet death faster.

Good for you. I know a couple Christians here who do really walk the walk. They study, they serve in the community A LOT, they live good lives, raise good children. You sound similar to them. that being said, if you do think Ed Young had questionable business practices, why did you feel the need to defend the guy on this thread initially? Shouldn’t shady business practices be a black mark for a preacher?

Have you not seem how much fun a Beer Bike event can be? Have you never watched Revenge of the Nerds? Why would I, or anyone, not want to recreate that at home in my cul-de-sac? Listen, old chap, I’m not interested in listening to your beastly attacks on my character, with nary a cheerio no less.
