  1. First, it's illegal for illegal immigrants to vote in elections, so #2 makes zero sense. But more to the point, even if you were right, if "everyone gets something they want" then why is there an outrage over illegal immigration?
  2. I can put forth a ton of policies, but what's the point the politicians on either side will never for for it? -Federal Voting Guidelines: States can run elections but there are certian rules on when/how absentee ballots are voted, so there is NO CONFUSION or gray area on "election theft" -Ranked Choice Voting -Districts are drawn with guidelines by computers to prevent partisan gerrymandering -Supreme Courts not being a lifetime appointment -Return Manufacturing to the US, even at a fucking loss, because of National Security Issues. We subsidize ariline failure, lets subsidize manufacturing -Teachers and Police officers should be paid extremely high salaries, becuase educating and protecting is important, and right now intelligent and ethical people do other things becuase it's barely a living wage or a thankless profession that has become populated by bullies. Have to attract talent, EVEN AT AN ECONOMIC LOSS -We need a new, fairer tax code. A fucking relatively simple one that isn't so easy for the wealthy to sidestep. That's my start. Ranked choice voting will eliminate the fucking fringe lunatics from each side who typically, currently, win their fucking primaries. FUCK PRIMARIES. You want to fix America, start fucking there.
  3. This thead is worthless. There's not a real dialog. The first few pages were shitposters, and the last few are Brisket shitposting.
  4. Sure man, I agree with that. But the whole point of this thread was transparency and finding commonality. Not just doing what you think is bettering, but working to find commonality in the good with people you disagree with...so it's a fundamental quesiton. Sure, you can all feed the homless and candy stripe in cancer wards. But the overarching question of "what happens when 50% of the people think the good you're doing is wrong" needs to be answered if you're attempting to build a relationship with those you disagree with. etc.
  5. If you're suggesting we follow only the example of teaching and Jesus, well, I've got to say, that doesn't sound like finding a truce with the people I have different feelings with should be on the table. By your definition.
  6. I know you are, but I'm being clear for the sake of the thread. Not that it hasn't just mostly been other folks looking to show up and dunk and be assholes. To the victor go the spoils, I guess, which isn't a terribly surprising attitude.
  7. How can a large segment of society work to make the world a better place, when a larger majority of people believe his specific efforts to make the world a better place are, in fact, making the world worse? "Oh, you volunteered your legal efforts pro bono to illegal immegrants? Yeah, you're fucking part of the problem." When people can't agree on a common concept of what makes the world a better place, how is anyone supposed to operate? And don't fucking say "Do what you think is best" becuase clearly that isn't/hasn't worked.
  8. He's a white male, too young to know whether or not he's straight. But I don't consider him being surrounded by an environment of hate and intolerance to be a good thing. And of course, the nobles thought everything in France was fucking great right up until the guillotine's theme music entered the chat. I'd rather not have him be a target by a furious group of people set upon retribution at any point in his life.
  9. I'm aware. But in the spirit of a "truce" thead, I could tell you what would go a long way for me, at leat on this forum; answering direct questions. Every time I've been invovled any encounter like this, we see people with opposing view show up to threadshit, or "debate" and inevitably they are asked very simple, often Yes/No questions. And they can't won't answer them. They defleft, or they say "look up the data themsleves." It's almost as if they know they have an indefensible position, or they know their answer will make them look like shit, so they won't answer. Just smirk and slink away. I can't work with someone who I can't even have a conversation with, in any regard. "Biden policies are fucking insane!!!" "Which policies and why do you think that?" "YOU KNOW WHICH ONES!" I'm team G650.
  10. OP has been deleted, comments visible, but the title said it all. It took exactly one day for hate to and cruelty towards others to continue to be normalized, and most dangerously, by America's young people. This was on day one. This is my biggest concern. What does this world look like for my kid?
  11. Yup. Came to post becuase those companies lobby, but BO&W beat me to it.
  12. Maybe. But they’re also not reliable to the polls either.
  13. Wait, in less than 24 hours we’ve gone from young men being an unreliable voting block to they were an always reliable voting block that democrats disenfranchised? Make that make sense please.
  14. Cynically, he looked at it. He is looking at it. But don’t worry, because the first part of his sentence makes the second part irrelevant.
  15. I don’t, actually. Please point to a policy. Let’s just say I’m really fucking stupid and don’t know goddamn thing. Please tell me the wacky insane policy or policies. Help me recognize it, then.
  16. I don’t see any other way to look at it except this. Did they get this way because we abandoned a chunk of them by offshoring jobs? Kneecapping education? Failing to register social media? Absolutely. But we started abandoning them first, 30-40 years ago. And the rest are just selfish boomers who DGAF about anything but themselves.
  17. There is no point. Fights over. And by get away you should think about that, literally. I can’t. I’m trapped here.
  18. Seriously why can no one ever answer this question? Which wacko policy? The infrastructure act? The chips act?
  19. Come on dude. You’ve gone from blowout Harris victory, to guys it’s early, to the days we have sucks, to “she can still get to 270.” Even if you’re right, and that’s a big fucking if every bit of enthusiast about women voting to take back their rights, republicans crossing the lines, puerto rica s going a fuck…it was all off. it’s grim. Say it.
  20. It’s over. Going to bed. Even if Harris pulls out a 270-268 squeaker we’re fucked.
  21. Biden saved more pensions than trump ever did by a factor of 50,000
  22. Because the notion of big margins and evidence of youth/women/defector votes hasn’t evidence yet in any of the early places we could have looked.
