  1. Uhhh you're doing it wrong. The whole point of not having kids or house is to retire early
  2. I am a late late 20's millenial. I saved basically nothing from 22-26 besides some 401k, traveled a bunch, paid off minimal student loans, got my Masters degree at night, got married, saved a little bit for a down payment and bought a house. Since then we have been working hard to save, my company matches 7% in 401k and we max it out and put about 10% more into our investment account. Just had our first kid and we decided to do the single income thing... which was rough. Went from making mid $200s combined to a lot less. I hope to retire by 55 or the day my eventual youngest child goes to college, whichever comes later. If we stick to our savings plan we should make it, but if the market goes way south, or we have an unforeseen financial difficultly, it won't happen. I'm going to be real interested in what the long term macro-economic impact is of millenials having dual incomes in the vast majority of cases which is leading to much much fewer kids, if any at all. As a new millenial father, I would recommend to a LOT of my younger friends that they have no business having kids. It isn't going to fit their life and make them happier.
  3. Big Four accounting - $55k-$60k. Big Bank (non Investment banking) - $70k salary + 15% bonus.
  4. Love this team. I LOVE even more the idea that some people wanted to trade Bregs And I agree on Verlander. Dude fits in 100%. Same with Cole. Verlander looks like he's having the time of his life on this team
  5. Not really fair to Nadal/Djokovic that they will have to play tomorrow. Both have a very legitimate complaint.
  6. yeah this is real tennis.
  7. Looks like #1 in the world Djokovic. Healthy Djokovic is just another roadblock to the #nextGen guys who can't get it done. Before long Murray will be healthy and it may be up to the #nextnextGen to actually start winning tournaments.
  8. No doubt. But he will HAVE to win the 1st set, potentially the first two sets to have a chance.
  9. I think that was already the likely case, but Nadal/Djokovic may hit more shots/run more in their semifinal than this one. Altho if it goes close to 30-30, I think either guy is smoked in the final. Although it seems like Isner has no shot at the moment. He is on last breaths
  10. As a reminder, Isner lost to de Bakker 0,3,2 after he beat Mahut. Didn't hit a single ace and lost in 74 minutes
  11. It's 6:30 in London. I'm sure they have told Nadal/Djokovic they will have a VERY quick entrance. Start play by 8 and gets you 3 hours.... probably won't finish but possible. And put me in the camp that this is less than ideal tennis. It's better than Isner/Raonic but the court coverage per point is turrible
  12. I have a four month old and this is my nightmare. I can't imagine doing that kind of stuff at nine months. Unfortunately the wife and I are both the types who need sleep to be semi-functional humans... don't need eight hours, but can't do six hours of sleep with interruptions every 1.5 hours. And there's no such thing as sleep for either of us in a rocking chair.... just becomes hours upon hours of reading on the phone. The 3-4 month regression is the worst. Went from sleeping in 5-8 stretches from 1month to 3months to max 3 hours.
  13. Have to imagine Djokovic is the favorite to win it all. Nadal's serve is going to cost him against Djokovic.
  14. Meh. Pretty standard action fair.... completely different than the first movie where it was told through Blunt's eyes.
  15. You get to keep one guy, Correa or Bregman, who do you take?
  16. Watching Game Night right now. Pretty decent and Rachel McAdams ass is amazing
  17. Finally saw it. Loved it. Possibly my favorite Marvel movie and I was getting pretty tired of the series. Thor, GotG, Iron Man and Cap killed it. Some natural comedic talent between Hemsworth, Pratt, Cooper, Bautista and Stark. And Thanos was awesome. A bad guy who actually has real motives and is thus somewhat believable.
  18. But they make up for that with a terrible minor league system
  19. Swaddling tightly ended up being the godsend for us. At 1 month old was sleeping 6-8 hour stretches. Being forced to leave the swaddle and the 3/4mo regression has sucked. Back to 2-4 hour stretches Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
  20. Love having him, but he certainly isn't hitting anything close to "greatest of all time" talk. Hope he recovers and has a healthy year at some point.
  21. Congrats. The 28 hours sounds familiar.
  22. So we have been looking to buy in a certain neighborhood (currently own a home elsewhere) and we found a home that is in the early stages of being gutted and completely re-done. We have engaged the developer and they are interested in us being the buyer and customizing to our liking. How on earth would that work? What is the "typical" process there? I'm worried if we agree on a price and sign a contract now then all the incentive to do a good job is gone for the developer. Can you build in an "option" period for something like this to where after they finish we can see the house and back out for a fee?
