1. awesome show—it was my first time to see MMJ. also first time at white oak. loved the venue but the parking situation was fucked. prepaid for the B lot and it took nearly 30 minutes of waiting in line in my car to enter lot.
2. the deranged idiots who claim to like the sound of the train horn can get bent
3. bump. heading to minneapolis first week of may for craft brewers conference. staying at embassy suites downtown. i’ve got all the breweries bookmarked, but would love some downtownish food recs since it’s been 2.5 years (precovid) since this thread was active. also top current brewery choices from TexasHooch and Al_4_ISU if you’ve got time. bummed the twins won’t be in town.
4. did we RIP Legal Draft and Armadillo Aleworks?
5. To set the record straight, a pint of Guinness has about 160 calories.
6. sounds like no gordon for the next week and a half
7. the guy right above him recommended some show called “seinfeld”
8. i assume the title sponsor is covering it and $0 comes from cumulus.
9. had to look this up. literally never heard of huffman.
10. we’re all still drinking beer, right? my first beer of the year is roughly my 50 sierra nevada celebration since thanksgiving week.
11. April 18, 2006, Astros reach .500 for first time in franchise history (since their inaugural season) at 3507-3507. May 4, 2006, the astros reached 4 games over .500 for franchise history at 3516-3512, the high-water mark for franchise history. May 14, 2006, the Astros began the day at 3519-3519 all-time, but would lose and fall below .500. They've been below .500 since.
12. would love to know more specifics, but it was reported that ABW is brewing it, marketing it, and selling it under the H&G brand and just paying a royalty.
13. you think he’ll take $50M less than seager got over the same years?
14. he got rich on $6 six packs back when the rest of the shelf was $4.
15. as someone who makes and sells beer at a small brewery, believe me when i say no one is getting rich on $10 six packs. it’s incredibly expensive to operate a craft brewery. we make good beer and charge a fair price. at our scale raw ingredients, cans, labels, etc are expensive and seemingly increasing every goddamned quarter.
16. been a great addition to the block the past year! but seriously, we’re now on week 13 of the entire block being torn to shit. they’ve busted the main water line twice on saturdays afternoons, shut it off multiple times without warning during the week, have busted gas lines at least twice (including once while we were brewing on our gas powered brewhouse), and prevented us from taking deliveries too many times to count. yay.
17. how could anyone on this thread possibly forget?
18. listened to the first hour+ and while it was great to hear rhyner’s voice, it was just the most generic low-level cowboys talk for the first 3 or 4 segments. pretty boring. hopefully things improved with “what’s on mikes mind.”
19. had no clue what you were referring to. looked it up and was reminded how much i hate video games. i have a 2 yo and a 1 month old and the last video game i owned was sonic the hedgehog on sega genesis.
20. construction isn’t enough to keep people off the 900 block of Wakefield. we also need road closures for fire trucks!!
21. wasn’t he run out of town for beating the shit out of his gf?
22. went into barrels around 11% but we actually sent it to a lab for testing after packaging and yeah, 14.3%. we were surprised it increased by that much.
23. the guy has never finished higher than 17th in MVP voting before this year. i assume he’ll probably finish around 5th for 2021.
