No I didn’t, will call him in the morning. I wonder if AB expects the Cavenders sales person or manager to eat their part of this deal.
I had a pair of the AB caiman belly boots. I noticed after having them a year or more that the inseam from the counter to the vamp was never sewn from the factory. I took them to Cavenders to see what needed to happen. They said they would send them to AB and get them fixed at no charge since it was a mfgr defect. They asked if I wanted soles and heels done while they had them, didn’t really think they needed replacing but figured who better to do it than AB and might as well let them do it while they had them. So AB sends my boots back with new soles and heels and a charge of $$$ whatever. But, they didn’t fix the vamp/counter stitching. So they send them back to AB and several weeks later I get them back. Now they have very small pin holes in the leather caiman part on the foot of the boot. I really thought some type of worm had eaten into the skin, was all over both boots. AB said it was faulty leather but they could fix them. After several weeks back at AB they send them to me. They looked great initially but after a few weeks the skin started tearing, looked way worse than the original pin holes. AB told me they glued them to try and repair the pin holes. They went on to eventually say the never should of tried gluing them, that just dried out the skins and made them tear worse. Asked me what I wanted to do, told them I would split a new pair with them. I said I didn’t feel like they owed me a new pair at no charge since I had worn them a year or more but did feel like a $600 pair of boots should last a lot longer than that. They said go order whatever I wanted at Cavenders and they would make it right. Been about 18 months or more and I am no closer to having this resolved. I really think I will just move on to Black Jack boots and be done with AB. BJ’s are better anyway
