  1. Went back today and rewatched The Door. Goddamn that ending chokes me up still. Can't wait for Pato to get to it.
  2. I took this picture among others during my visit last year. Hard to believe it’s all in ruins now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Visited here last year. Awful...can't really understand why the fire brigade doesn't seem to be doing anything though I obviously know nothing about fighting fires like this.
  4. "Almost" was the line. I too am stumped on what he meant by that.
  5. Looks like the wind has a couple more MPH to pick up through the afternoon rounds, so probably a good bet that -4 or -5 is going to be the first round lead.
  6. Tiger finally makes another putt. Feels like he should legit be -3 or -4 right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Finau hitting some shots like this is a regular ol' course. Can't put that much zip on the ball on too many of these greens.
  8. I went from having none to three conference calls this afternoon, all back-to-back. They can all go fuck themselves tomorrow, I'm not doing anything but watching golf.
  9. Subscribed. Gonna do 11-12 days in Italy next summer with the family. Gotta figure out the right mix of activities and where to stay. I took my oldest to Rome for 4 days last year and fucking loved every minute in that city, and they say it’s nowhere near the best of Italy. Lake Como is on my list this next time for sure. 10. Well, a couple serious words of advice. Don’t underestimating calling some of the local hotels from a couple weeks before until right before check-in to ask if there have been any cancellations. You’d be surprised at what can open up and what rates you can get. A few years ago we were sprung with last minute Saturday/Sunday tickets and got a nice room at the Marriott for $339, half of the rate they had advertised for the week. Marcellos is a good cigar shop right off of Washington Rd. Enjoy the hell out of your time on the property, it’s one of life’s best experiences for a golf fan. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. They also love it when you yell “get in the hole” after any shot a golfer takes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a 45-day aged Longhorn roast that I just tore the fuck up. Damn that was good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That’s pretty damn good too. If the Brits have one thing it’s a sense of humor. I love it over here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I was right in the middle of all this today. Not surprised to hear the number at a million, I guessed easily 250k. Crowds I couldn’t believe. Best sign I saw was “Pulling out won’t keep people from still coming.” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Damn good day today....landed at LHR at 8:50am and made it through customs in approximately 15 mins. Couldn’t believe our luck on the timing. Heathrow Express and a taxi got us to the hotel in a flash and the room was even ready, although my God there was an unbelievably large Brexit protest today right in this Hyde Park/Marble Arch Area. Had to have been 250k people around easy. Fortunately, made it over to a pub I like called Crown & Anchor for a fish & chips lunch. Jugged Hare on tap for lunch tomorrow thanks to some recs on here, will report back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That’s the Commando 450, I don’t sell that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Fuck yeah. looking forward to the game tomorrow. Haven't seen the Vols cut down the nets in my lifetime.
  18. Buncha goddamn knee jerk over-reactors everywhere the last few days that all need some perspective. We would have lost WW2 had we had this mentality back then. Forget what the FAA or Boeing C-suite alone says, at the end of the day the pilots who have spent thousands of hours training and flying these things wouldn't continue flying them if they truly thought they were unsafe or if they felt unable to maintain control under virtually any circumstance. Media needs to stop trying to sensationalize this story.

I imagine trains are slammed during the tournament but I’m not sure what easier options there are than jumping on at Waterloo or perhaps another centrally located station and making the 20 min train ride to Wimbledon. As far as transfers to/from LHR, I’m taking the Heathrow Express to/from Paddington Station for the first time next week. 15 min travel time and the tix were really cheap since we purchased so far in advance. Beats paying $100 and the hour it takes in a cab IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just curious, have you ever been to Destin or 30A? What are you looking for? Nice beaches and a house rental? Or hotel? I just gotta say, I’m nearly 40 and have spent my life going all over the east coast...most anything north of Charleston isn’t that great. Hilton Head / Kiowah are great but not the best beaches IMO. Weather/humidity/wind across the east coast is terrible in summer and as you would expect, crowds are jam packed but granted you’ll run into that most places. I would recommend Alys Beach or Rosemary Beach. After that, Sandestin. Fantastic places to spend a week, all are on the FL gulf coast. Can fly into VPS or ECP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've stayed at this property before (granted for only 2 nights) and absolutely loved it. Location was really convenient to a lot of things, staff was great, and the executive lounge was excellent too. When I initially looked at booking here last summer I for whatever reason thought I wanted to try something else since I was bringing the younger kids this time but I changed my mind a few weeks ago and got what I think is a fantastic redemption option at this hotel. 300k points for 6 nights, plus a $1200GPB cash upgrade for the family suite. The cash value if I just paid USD for the suite itself would have been over $8600 total for the 6 nights we are there, at least at current rates. The way I figure, I'm getting over $7,000 of value for 300k points which is well over double what I would typically think is an acceptable redemption rate. I usually try to peg Marriott points at a little less than a dollar per point.
  24. What airline and do you normally book tickets direct or through a portal like Expedia? I only book direct through the airline and when I do that, I'm always presented the option to see what metal I'm flying & available seats (in all classes) on each route before I book. In the rare case I'm flying something atypical, I'll pop over to Seatguru and make sure I'm not picking a bad seat. I also check my reservations somewhat occasionally pre-flight as equipment changes from the carrier I believe are required to be posted and they also must allow you to make certain flight changes without a change penalty.
