The Jets will end up taking him as a first round pick despite the fact that he never played a down in college.

and then Bru will immediately demand to be traded to the Rams.

  2. Cat's drop ball looked as dominant as ever and the team hits about as well as every other Ken Eriksen coached team. The lineups that he rolls out and the group of kids that he hand picked are perplexing to say the least. Don't worry about finding a box score. Cat struck out 12 and Team USA mustered 1 run against a team they should've beaten by 10.

  3. Baseball hitting coaches are brought to the fastpitch game for one reason...power numbers. Several seasons ago, baseball began to value the HR over all else. This hire is about Launch Angle and hitting more balls over the fence. Last season, Texas hit a bunch of doubles, but very few HRs. Singleton is coming to turn those doubles into four baggers, but buyer beware, with this approach, strikeouts always increase, and sometimes at alarming numbers. I hate that this is the way softball/baseball are being played now. I much prefer the gap to gap approach at the plate, and linedrives never go out of style. However, this is about keeping up with the Jones' and if we want to win, we have to be able to score runs in bunches.

  4. It's really unfortunate that this team is what the selection committee decided to put on the field to represent the USA. I guess it should come as no surprise that they would not select the best players when you consider they picked Ken F'n Eriksen to coach them.  The fact that Amanda Lorenz has been the best player in America for the last 4 years and didn't get an invite to tryouts should tell everyone all they need to know. Now Ken has taken the group on some barnstorming tour to battle the professional women, and the NWT is getting their asses beat by girls who didn't even get to tryout for the team. This could be a very embarrassing Olympic games for the USA.

  5. The portal has really changed this sport, in the way free agency has changed professional sports. Coaches can plug holes with a proven commodity now and teams can get much better sooner than ever before. However, it has its downside as well. Coaches must find a way to keep bench players involved and freshman happy or they risk losing those people every year.  I’m really not sure how I feel about the whole thing. My daughter would’ve almost certainly have entered the portal after her freshman year, had it been available, but she stayed, worked harder and became a team captain and 3 time all conference player.

    She's a pitcher.

    2018 - 18-5, 1.96 ERA, 39 appearances, 23 games started, 9 CG, 2 saves, 153.2 IP, 90 K / 46 BB
    2019 - 6-1, 1.64 ERA, 19 appearances, 4 games started, 2 CG, 3 saves, 47 IP, 31 K / 13 BB

She went from 2nd in the rotation to 3rd behind Odicci Alexander this year. That is a significant decrease in workload. I can see why she's transferring.  She'd be 3rd behind Elish/Shea and fighting against Mike's chosen pitching recruit Grace Green.  Not sure Texas is the best spot for her unless Green is not fully healed from her senior year injury.

If, at a minimum, we can get Klinger, I'd shuffle up the defense to:

    C - Iakopo/Ellsworth
    1B - ??
    2B - Jefferson
    SS - Klingler
    3B - Tedder (she played 59 games at 3B as a freshman)
    OF - Rhodes/Burke/Hathaway

Love this line up....It would be great if Iakopo/Ellsworth could play a little 1B to keep both bats in the order.
