  1. Needed a spicy chicken pasta, just using what I had on hand. Grilled Cajun chicken; sautéed onion, garlic, bell pepper; wine, cream, red devil sauce, red pepper flakes; cotija cheese and tomato; egg noodles. So good...
  2. Revisiting the retractable tonneau cover discussion: I went back and re-read this thread. Several of y'all have retractable covers, but I've only seen Roll N Lock and Retrax in the thread (IIRC). I've looked at Roll N Lock, Retrax (GatorTrax seems to be same product), Pace Edwards, Truck Covers USA, Paragon, etc. I'm leaning towards the RetraxPRO XR because or reported durability (aluminum vs. polyc), can open and close by walking along side of truck (and no strap to mess with), locks anywhere along the tracks, reportedly as close to waterproof as possible, works with t-slot accessories. My question to y'all with retractable tonneau covers is, why did you make the choice you did, and how do you like your purchase?
  3. You lie! https://www.surlyhorns.com/board/index.php?/topic/95-shit-ive-cooked-lately/&do=findComment&comment=239475 Of course just giving you shit. That looks great. Rep alone for making your own pasta. Would smash, two plates minimum.
  4. Checking in - was there as a student. Great game. Energy was high. We refused to shelter from the rain, and it was raining so hard it soaked through my jeans, water pooling in my boots. But damned if we were gonna puss out. Great time with great friends. Hook ‘Em.
  5. Yay. 4yo started puking about 6:45PM tonight. Productive vomit 3 times, dry heaves twice since then. During that span, I tweaked my back somhow (no previous back problems) and can’t stand up without lower back pain. Then 2 yo starts puking, 3 times in the last 45 minutes, 2 massively productive and 1 dry heave. They did not have common food or drink today, so I assume stomach virus. My back I’ll handle, but my kids writhing in pain, dry heaving, looking at me like ‘why, daddy?’ and nothing I can do about it - ultimate kick in the balls.
  6. Central Texas man catches record-breaking tarpon at son's bachelor party I’m happy they released it, but I learned in Florida that removing the large fish from the water can cause internal damage to the fish (actually, it’s a violation to boat large tarpon in Florida these days). Fish of a lifetime, no doubt.
  7. This hot Hatch green chile cheeseburger might give me a hard time tomorrow morning, but it has nothing on what Texas is gonna do to sooner ass tomorrow: Did this one a little differently. Roasted and chopped hot Hatch green chiles, sharp ceddar, 80/20, Fiesta brand chipotle hamburger seasoning, and egg as a binder. Melted sharp white cheddar on top. Buttered buns. Really hit the spot.
  8. Lincoln Riley doesn’t always eat dicks... who am I kidding, he’s always eating bags of dicks. or in the first person, with graphic:
  9. And 9 months and 3 days after those tweets, he knew his mistake: I still remember that game - final score doesn’t reflect the domination of ole miss over aggy. i don’t think murray even played in the game, but he was done with aggy. A month later, he announced that he was transferring to blowu. i want him to have that same look on Saturday after we decidedly end ousux’s playoff bid and end any heisman hopes. fuck methlahoma.
  10. Sometimes I just need a really good, yet simple, fettuccini alfredo.
  11. It’s 3:42, I’ve got the 2008 OU game playing on LHN, I just poured a cocktail, and OU still sucks!
  12. Breakfast: Fried eggs, bacon, hatch chiles, red onions, crispy crowns, red devil. Yeah, yeah, I know... fancy chinet but those plates are tough.
  13. Dutch, I put ~3 oz tequila in each pot. I use the Negra Modelo to dilute the tomato paste. Not pictured: the other 5 bottles of NM I drank while making and simmering the chili.
  14. Thanks. Smoked over hickory, low and slow. Gives the chili a very nice smoky flavor. I’ve seen people make brisket chili where they cook cubes of raw brisket in the chili, but I prefer smoked brisket in mine.
  15. First brisket chili of the season. Brisket: Other ingredients: Not pictured: home roasted hot Hatch green chilies, frozen then thawed, chopped. I LOVE Fall. Let’s get to it.
  16. First sniffle-nose of the season goes to my 2yo. He gagged on phlegm this morning and threw up his breakfast all over me. I’m really excited about spending the next 8 months sick.
  17. Quick and dirty prime ribeye with grilled asparagus. Not pictured: Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon.
  18. Looks like a bootleg but it’s all I could find
  19. Repped for the pork and hatch chimichurri, but cucumbers?!
  20. Get your required continuing education credit hours on a cruise, they said. It will be fun, they said. Ok, I said. Then they schedule it for the height of hurricane season. No, I said. But it’s already booked, they said. Got dayumit. Doing Galveston -> Cozumel -> Galveston from Thursday to Monday. Invest 95L should be fun. Maybe a little Isaac, too.
  21. Avatar checks out. I really do think it’s one chance in three, but I prefer coffee.
  22. From last Saturday. ~11lb trimmed over hickory at 235* for ~17 hours. Was fantastic. Party attendees super-smashed it.
