  1. You have to think of it as the sideline rule in soccer. Any part of the ball touching the line and it's still in play. If it touches anything past the line, then the the ball is out of play and ruled a home run.
  2. They actually march 6:5. Not that it matters. Point is still valid. Just have to be a band nerd for a sec..
  3. Went to the final round of the women’s amateur Saturday. The much smaller crowd compared to the Masters rounds I’ve been to made the experience much better than I expected. Mostly because I knew very little about the golfers. I was there to mostly take in the course. The hour wait for merchandise sucked, but with the weather supposed to turn south we made sure we shopped first. For the first timers here, it’s wise to do your shopping as soon as you get there. They open up the area with the merchandise and concessions 30ish minutes before anyone is let on the course. If they clear the course because of weather, the shop closes then too and you may miss out. They have a place where you can either check or ship your merch so you don’t have to lug it around the course all day. Also having an air bnb less than 2 miles from the course made the 3 hour weather delay much more tolerable with the patio beers.
  4. Same story for my Monday tickets this year. Was selected in the lottery in 2019, but had to wait until this year to be able to use them.
  5. Denied this year after being selected for Monday tickets last year. I still get to make a trip to Augusta in April though. I got selected for the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. It’s not the Masters, but I’m not going to pass up a chance to walk the course again.
  6. A buddy and I are headed to Augusta for the Monday practice round this year and are going take a couple of days to play some golf on the drive back to Texas. Our drive is going to take us straight down I-20. Ross Bridge in Hoover looks intriguing, but thought I'd see if you gents have any other recommendations.
  7. If you can get those for $200 each do not pass them up. I'll be there Monday this year as well and this will be my third trip to Augusta. You don't have anything to worry about at the gate. They don't ID you to make sure the tickets were actually issued to you (at least they didn't last time I was there in 2018.) Just make sure you leave your phone and all other electronic devices in your car as they don't allow anything other than a point and shoot digital camera through the gates for practice rounds.
  8. Good luck with that. Greg Abbott shut down every bar and and all restaurants in the state are take-out only through April 3 at the soonest.
  9. How might an autumn Masters look, feel and play? Here’s what the experts think
  10. I'm a bartender, so I'd put it towards my bills since the governor just gave me a minimum 2 week unpaid vacation.
  11. Chapman threw an 84mph spinner out over the plate. Any competent MLB hitter should put good wood on that even without a buzzer. But y'all know what? They cheated in 2017. Did other teams cheat too? Probably, but there's a good chance it'll never be confirmed. And y'all know what else? Flags fly forever. Fuck dumpster Fiers. Fuck Manfred. Fuck the Dodgers, Yankees, and the Red Sox. Everyone outside of Houston hates the Astros and fuck them too. This team will be playing with a major chip on their shoulder this year, and I don't want to think they'll let us down. I'm just hoping for a Julia dance dance routine after the clinching game of the World Series.
  12. Switched over to mlb.tv from FS1 and am watching with the Astros radio broadcast instead. Highly recommended if you have the option.
  13. My brother got selected in 2017, father in 2018, and I am the lucky one for 2020.
  14. Got selected for 4 on Monday as well. Will be my 3rd trip in 4 years. Can’t wait!
  15. For any of y'all in the Longview area, the Alpine driving range added toptracers to all of their covered hitting areas. They're free to use at the moment. Just pay for range balls. Probably going to check it out tomorrow.
  16. Decided to fly some gummy edibles with me for my trip to the Masters last year. I just put them in a box of whatever gummy candy I could find and put it in my carry on. Figured there wouldn't be any questions asked if my bag got searched.
  17. How the fuck is that play not eligible to be looked at?
  18. I stand corrected then. Haven't done much looking into this yet. Just kind of throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.
  19. My first thought if there was bad weather is that they got caught up in a microburst.
