  1. Cliffs notes is that actors are apparently inherently untrustworthy around firearms and the industry has adopted rules that would be considered unsafe in any other situation regarding firearms where the actors are not allowed to do anything but pick up the gun and shoot/pretend to shoot it. The armorer tells them whether it is safe to do so. Alec was practicing his fast draw for a scene and shot the cinematographer and the other dude because apparently it was actually loaded with live rounds.
  2. That's basically the gist of it. He was probably pulling the trigger already when he pulled the hammer back and when he let go of the hammer it fell on the live round.
  3. The blue origin rockets make so much more sense now.
  4. Obviously we need universal law care.
  5. Seemed like fewer deer running around around here as well. We were covered up in acorns all season as well and they didn't care about corn at all.
  6. I'd buy some tickets if the prize was one of these...
  7. There's lots of folks here who know nothing else. Unless you think she is Army Brat old, she is at least in the same boat as you.
  8. Dak was on fire tonight, but honestly he was pretty lucky that a lot of risky passes ended up in the right hands. That kind of playing worked out tonight, but against a better defense could easily turn the momentum against the Cowboys. I did like how they used his legs on multiple occasions to make plays. We need more of that in the playoffs.
  9. Jerry should offer Brady a slot as his back up QB.
  10. I came in to the game tonight hoping to see Tom Brady lose, but by the end of the game I kind of felt sorry for him. He basically sacrificed his family to play this season, only to get beaten badly by the Cowboys in a playoff game when they were on the road and haven't won one of those for most of my life. That's a really crappy way to end a career as the GOAT. I kinda wish it had been closer and he had thrown a pick six to lose the game at the last minute. At least he would have gone out in style and I would feel a little bit better about the gloating.
  11. Brady looked like he was thinking about eating a bullet after that touchdown. The onside recovery couldn't even cheer him up.
  12. I mean, I'm a big proponent of moving as much manufacturing as we can to Mexico, but have you ever driven through the border area? From Nuevo Laredo to Monterey there is basically nothing but scrub brush. You need towns and cities full of people to support manufacturing. As far as the origen of the virus and China goes, I feel like at best they were negligent and were lax in their lab procedures. There needs to be some sort of response from the international community to pressure them to get their crap together or it will be sort of like Russia annexing Crimea. It will only be a matter of time before something else escapes a lab and it could be much worse.
  13. My maternal grandmother's grandmother, born 1878 in Sabine, Texas. Looks like she could about fit the bill. Her daughter, my mother's grandmother, had long, nearly ankle length hair that was always done up in a bunch when my mom was growing up. Her cousins told her mammaw NAAL was a witch when she had her hair down, which was obviously true. Anyhow, continuing with stories about hard af ancestors, my mom's grandfather helped his aunt move from Panola County in East Texas to Childress because the drier climate was supposed to be good for their asthma or something. Anyhow, he helped them move out there and build a dugout or whatever and then made his way back to Panola County on horseback. He was twelve.
  14. They may not even release the brace rules until the stuff with bump stocks shakes out since there is a circuit split now.
  15. So, what exactly does a man need to do to get the cops to give you some free ketamine? I'm white, so I'm assuming they won't kill me, but that might also make it a bit harder to get the ketamine.
  16. What am I missing here? Apparently the taste.
  17. More like shooting pigeons with a punt gun.
  18. Kenya should send some actual leopards (trained to attack of course) just to mess with Germany.
  19. There were more US plates than Mexican plates on the road all the way from San Luis Potosí or Matehuala to Nuevo Laredo. Probably between 30 and 40 different states represented. My inlaws crossed Sunday night and only waited 2.5 hours. I guess all the people from more distant states had already crossed. The drive down before Christmas was pretty interesting too. Everybody was loaded up with a roof rack and a hitch rack stacked high with stuff that's cheaper here, and almost every vehicle had at least one new TV strapped down in their load somewhere.
  20. Between this and Biden's visit to El Paso, it must have shifted a lot of traffic to the east. We crossed back into Texas at Laredo Saturday night/Sunday morning and from the time we got in line to the time we cleared customs it was 8.5 hours.
  21. NFA weapons like suppressors. IIRC, your spouse cannot even legally possess a suppressor without you present (or possibly even know the combo to your safe, depending on how ambitious the ATF gets) if it is legally registered to you. Having it in a trust allows multiple people to be trustees and alleviates some of those issues. Also, estate planning is greatly simplified for NFA weapons versus registering it as an individual.
  22. It appears to have a sagittal crest, which indicates that it most likely belonged to a carnivor. Those spurs sticking out on the sides were from the eye sockets, the rest of the sockets have rotted away or were broken off or both. Doesn't appear to be based on size, it looks like a medium sized predator, but it could be a juvenile as well. I'd look at pictures of any known predators in the area to see if I could find a match.
