  1. we had andros townsend, ryan mason and danny rose in those early poch teams as well. poch made it a point to focus on academy development/promotion when he got here.
  2. this has been one of the biggest disappointments and differences between the early poch era and now.
  3. ya but the good ones are capable/willing to do more than keep their wing backs slightly more narrow or pushed forward 10 fewer yards.
  4. don’t think we’ll ever know. but we know the way we’re doing it now isn’t.
  5. i dunno. maybe think about changing your style of play so it doesn’t require all out effort from your already gassed and depleted team to be successful? back 3 today? cool. but you’ve got acres of space in midfield because we keep pressing and can’t recover, leaving a depleted back line repeatedly exposed. injuries are a big part of the story but ange’s stubbornness shouldn’t be ignored.
  6. i still don't understand why they extended forster in the middle of last season vs. letting his contract expire and bringing in a new keeper in the summer.
  7. and i laugh at the people who keep insisting the ONLY thing the club needs is an overhaul. spurs are never going to spend like other clubs while levy and ENIC are in charge, and IMO ange needs to figure out a way to adjust his system for the players we have in the current squad so we don’t keep dropping points and miss out on the additional funds that come from european qualification. so trust ange - fine. his track record suggests he is not a fraud, but consistently saying, “it is what it is” without even feigning an attempt at something different in the short term raises questions.
  8. spurs had the 4th-highest spend (5th highest net-spend) in the summer transfer window. and we were all generally excited about the squad makeup before the season. keep spending money to overhaul the squad, sure. but it isn’t just about spending money. i
  9. this is why. a good manager needs to be able and willing to tactically adjust to what the game and opponent are giving him. ange doesn’t do that. do you chalk the consistent defensive lapses and issues defending set pieces to injuries/depth? i don’t disagree with the other points you made, but allowing him to just continue on in this manner also signals that we arent a serious club.
  10. it won’t be, but this should probably be it for ange.
  11. i’m doubling down on my thread title suggestion.
  12. “it’s just who we are mate”
  13. have done both and much prefer the overground. the back garden at no. 8 is a great time and my fav spot as well, but also curious if the atmosphere has changed since there is more to do/drink/eat pre-game in the new stadium than in WHL. regardless you should def make a trip back and hit the pubs.
