  1. i’m doubling down on my thread title suggestion.
  2. “it’s just who we are mate”
  3. have done both and much prefer the overground. the back garden at no. 8 is a great time and my fav spot as well, but also curious if the atmosphere has changed since there is more to do/drink/eat pre-game in the new stadium than in WHL. regardless you should def make a trip back and hit the pubs.
  4. i still think you are pulling the ripcord on richy prematurely. having two out and out striker options should lessen the need for son, bj, werner, deki, etc to shoulder that load and allow them to play in their more natural, effective wide positions in all competitions. and if you’re going to trust ange on solanke, he had this to say about richy: “Not sure where the uncertain future idea came from, not from my behalf. When he was fit last year, he played all the time and played well. This is not about replacing Richy, for us it is about adding to our squad and we want to get better in every transfer window. Having some more quality and depth in that front third means we can protect our players more” maybe he doesnt work out but at this stage having him AND solanke is nothing but upside.
  5. i don't get the richarlison hate. he's disappointed overall since arriving at spurs, but his first season was filled with injuries and dealing with conte. he got help for his mental health issues and when he came back from the groin injury mid-season last year he was in great form before dealing with injuries toward the back 1/3. i don't recall any point last season where his behavior was a distraction or detrimental to the club. the guy has a ton of talent, seems like he genuinely likes it at spurs and is willing to stay and fight for a spot despite big money offers to leave. i'll take the possibility of all of that clicking over the other backup striker options available on the transfer market.
  6. i think this line of reasoning only holds if tenn doesn't win the title this year. if they do, the better question is whether he wants to keep that rolling or start a re-build at another program.
  7. i'd say it's only fair considering he's been practicing contract termination without consent for a few years now.
  8. i don't need to fantasize about anything. we got the ring. degrom was on some shitty mets teams in his career, so regardless of his career win % or WAR, it's not a stretch to think he could have been a 19-20 game winner with this offense this season had he stayed healthy. but i guess we'll never know. and that's just fine with me.
  9. speaking of bullshit stats, no he wouldn't have to win 19 games. 13-14 probably would have been fine. dunning and bradford took starts from eovaldi and gray when they were on the IL as well. i'm going to bet you could find at least 5 more wins spread around those three guys. look what happened when they went back to their normal roles in the bullpen in the playoffs. but you already know how that turned out:
  10. this guy out here telling us to forget the 8-10 additional wins degrom would have been good for on this team over the full season, saying injuries probably cost us a few games but not 15. that’s the real silliness.
