  1. we really don't know about the second statement because of the first.
  2. as he should. thiago should have seen yellow for the flying challenge that caused the first injury.
  3. "he doesn't do that on purpose." gtfo lee.
  4. because davies played him onside.
  5. he didn't miss it. he was playing advantage.
  6. he already buried one...
  7. liVARpool is back baby!!!
  8. good results all around today. taking all three points tomorrow would be massive, so i fully expect 'pool to break out of their EPL goal scoring drought.
  9. and how accessible is the full slate of nfl games in england without a paid subscription?
  10. providing a robust slate of matches via non-premium network tv isn’t going to magically draw a critical mass of fans to drive the premium on ad space up, especially since most of the matches take place during non-primetime viewing. how many posting in this thread became a premier league fan because nbc suddenly made it easier to see the majority of the matches on a weekly basis? with the premium that the EPL charges for their broadcast rights, networks in the US will likely continue to find ways to monetize the hell out of their programming via subscriptions from current fans until such time that the USMNT does enough on the international stage (collectively and individually) to generate more interest from the casual american sports fan.
  11. dont disagree on needing more creativity but ndombele is capable of providing this from a defensive position. the “problem” is further up the pitch, but i think tactics have as much to do with talent.
  12. this is actually our best midfield pairing.
  13. i'd argue that dier is jose's cade brewer.
  14. it would be one thing if we began with an attacking style and switched it off, but we don't. we always set up in a defensive formation (even when we have attacking players throughout the team sheet), are content to sit back and concede possession and hit teams on the counter. when this is successful it compounds the problem because instead of pushing for another goal we sit deeper and more compact while other teams commit more players to the attack. this puts more pressure on mediocre defenders who make more mistakes and are even less able to play the ball through accurately to our attacking players waiting to counter. i lost count of the number of times yesterday that dier, sanchez, reguilon or aurier dealt with the initial threat but gave possession right back in dangerous areas because there was no outlet between the back line and the forwards. this is mou being mou. it was the concern when he was announced as manager and will continue to be as long as he is manager because he has never shown a willingness to adapt to the modern game. if/when he starts to ratchet up his public criticisms of the players not executing his system vs. changing tactics you'll have a full bingo card and it'll be time for us to start waiting around for levy to make a change...which will also take too long. there is too much quality in this squad overall now to blame the player quality for the lack of results.
  15. that was sort of my point. playing a defensive/counter strategy in today's premier league is playing to not lose.
  16. because we play to not lose.
  17. not sure why y'all even bother to watch the first 75 minutes of these matches.
  18. so, bust?
  19. mou needs to take him off at half and leave him on the bench for the rest of the season.
  20. narrator: “they couldn’t.”
  21. xhaka still a hack.
  22. he scores when he wants.
  23. he assists when he wants.
  24. well the good news here is that you aren't going to see a sanchez and tanganga pairing in front of joe hart for anything of consequence from here on out unless something goes terribly wrong.
