  1. great post. The only issue I have with this is that it is hard to compare last years attitude in camp with this years when we have yet to be at camp..... I would rather see us talk about how we are better than last year when we actually are in camp. You get props from me for pointing out that this is not the same as we hear every year, when last year we were seeing lots of bad stuff that came to pass.....good catch...
  2. I aint giving PK a pass, but last year he came in on short notice and not only didnt know his players, he didnt know his coaches either. If he was a newby or untested I would be damned worried, but he came here with a great resume. I hope to hell he has it figured out now. I hope to hell Coburn and Sweat got their fat asses into condition and can play most of a game this year. Frankly, what worries me the most is having to pin all our hopes on a 19 year old that has all the talent, but none of the seasoning. It almost isnt fair, but that is where we are. Manning will have it way easier in comparison when he gets his shot. If our defense and running game can take a bit of pressure off of him, we might be pretty good. If they cannot.....well.....we suck until we dont...
  3. so....finally!.....Muhamed commits to Texas... and I know I cant spell.....shoot me!
  4. labama QB Bryce Young praised Steve Sarkisian on Tuesday. Said Sarkisian was the reason he committed to Bama. Young also said he learned a lot from Sarkisian during their short time together #SECMediaDays 9:42 AM · Jul 19, 2022 from Atlanta, GAhttps://twitter.com/intent/like?ref...H0BsTN_XzA26s=19&tweet_id=1549404427857133568
  5. maybe aggy is right....we Do fuck up every conference we get into. If the rest can't keep up, well thats the way it goes....
  6. seriously, if Quinn comes in and really looks good ( like we all expect) and then Arch comes in and looks really good (again, like we all expect), Sark will have first dibbs on the best QB's in the land for as long as he is here.
  7. I tell you what....when Bryce Young gets on the podium at SEC Media days and praises Sark ....well that cannot hurt. When he goes on to say Sark was the reason he went to Bama...and that he learned a lot from him in the short time they were together... I doubt Saban wanted to hear that and I know Jimbo damned sure didnt....
  8. well, that does it.....I am gonna run out and put $10,000.00 on us to win it all
  9. sorry.....you have to pay $9.95 to get that answer....
  10. I think last year we could hold our own in the first half because fat ass Coburn could be a force for a while, but as the game wore on he didn't have the stamina to get out of his stance. If managed to come in 30lbs lighter he might last a quarter longer.
  11. everything about last year was a clown show. I think we were having team meetings in the girls shower or some such crap. PK was the last defensive coach hired wasnt he?..How was he supposed to get it right when he didnt even know who he was working with? No such excuse this year. I just hope Coburn is under 335lbs....same for Sweat. I dont give a rats ass about 3-3 4-3 2-2 or any of that , I just want to see the cb line up closer than 15 yds from the receiver....
  12. I agree. Good for him. Where is he gonna play next year or is he gonna straight up declare for the draft?
  13. Some team notes from the Brainiacs, with mentions about the newcomers . . . paraphrased of course. No leadership yet in the LB room. Jaylan Ford has been putting up great testing numbers since January. He's the most physically gifted LB in the room. Tucker-Dorsey has pushed the group a bit but a leader needs to emerge. Overshown has been getting reps at Edge. Not sure how much he plays there. Coaches want as much speed on the field as they can get. Byron Murphy has looked best out of all the interior DL. A trio of freshmen have been performing exceptionally well. J'Mond Tapp, Kris Ross and Justice Finkley. Finkley's body has transformed since arriving in January. He's living in the weight room and it's showing. Ross has put up the best testing times for anyone at his position. He's been very impressive
  14. say what? I never heard a whisper about that. Fact is I am close to calling bullshit on that.
  15. hey...my stolen stories are your stolen stories....
  16. maybe this will help... A couple of practice notes from TFB . . . . Devon Campbell brought his lunch pale to Austin with him. He's really impressing. He is the fastest OL we have, true athlete. Both he and Banks are standing out with their athleticism, which Texas has not had in years. Cam Williams has been working over the summer. He is down below 360 now. Connor Robertson, TFB says, will one day take over the center position. When he does, he'll be the most athletic center we've had in a while. Needs to spend more time in the weight room though. Encouraging feedback on Cole Hutson and Hayden Connor. Connor will see lots of PT this season. Hutson is now almost 6'5 and 320 lbs.
  17. Hell....I heard that Williams has "chiseled" down to under 360. I am now a bit concerned that this new development will make it easier to walk around him....
  18. OK...I admit I am a dumbass. Sorry for doubting your math skills Red
  19. Red I am not one to quibble, but your name is Red Five!... I bet you could count to five if you wanted to....
  20. nope....preposterous idea. Why in the world would a kid dreaming of starring in the NFL someday ever watch a game with his two super bowl champ uncles? Hell, I bet they never ever threw the ball around either....
  21. ok....we have QB's with all the arm talent one could ask for. Supposedly both have super high football IQ's. The one ingredient we will not know about for some time is whether these guys are great "generals" on the field for lack of a better word. Perhaps Leader would be better. In my opinion the two best I have seen in my lifetime were Vince Young and James Street. Vince with that calm, confident manner that helped the whole team to relax knowing he had their back....The way he led the summer workouts before that Natty year....He put up a bulletin board saying to meet him everyday that summer on the practice field.....if they wanted to beat OSU! James Street the way he took the team and never lost a game. The way he stayed confident no matter what....and when fate came calling facing that 4th and 3 or 5 or whatever with DKR telling him to run aPASS PLAY???...a long one at that....He even came back and asked "coach are you sure?" DKR waved him on....he goes to the huddle like he called the play himself....he looks at Spires and says..."Randy, listen up. I am looking at Cotton, but I am talking to you. You are gonna be a hero"....He then goesout and dropped a dime between double coverage and the rest was history. I want a guy that can recognize his moment and then grab it by the throat!...............goddammit I am worked up!...Hookem!!
