  1. I forget who it was, but I saw some commentator talking about teams being due a down game. If college teams play a couple of good games they tend to follow them up with a bad game. I guess Texas was due a let down and I'm glad we still won. Hopefully they got it out of their system and come out fired up next week.
  2. He was not good today. That first miss to Cain, missing Whittington open in the end zone. The one positive is we usually lose these games.
  3. I didn't like the Sark hire, but I am encouraged this season that the team is showing improvement. Pretty much every unit on the team is playing better this year than last. Part of that is highly rated recruits are playing like highly rated recruits. Ewers looks all world. Worthy, Sanders, Banks, and Bijan all look as good as advertised. Coburn, Jamison, and Whittington are playing how we expected them to play a couple of years ago. That's something we haven't seen in years.
  4. That's why I mentioned it - it's the only instance I could think of where the offense played better in the second half. Texas had two fumbles and a pick six in the first half. Not punching yourself in the dick isn't really a strong indicator that you've figured things out though. It just means you stopped punching yourself in the dick.
  5. Has the offense figured things out over the course of a game in Sark's tenure? Kansas last season?
  6. That's my question. I guess he's our tall receiver once we get in the red zone. We can have him and Sanders run for opposite corners of the end zone.
  7. The most impressive thing about that throw was that Sanders was basically even with the defender when Ewers threw it. That's the difference between Ewers and Card.
  8. Maybe Saban is finally starting to slip. Though I think that every few years and then he wins another championship.
  9. PK shut out OU and held them under 200 yards of offense and 11 first downs. That's a good game vs a directional school and he just did it against OU.
  10. That's so they can show the police where Bama touched them.
  11. Getting run out of OU was my favorite thing about Venables.
  12. Jimbo has the opposite of right of first refusal, his players get prima nocta with his wife.
  13. Forget the frat party, who lets their kid go to OU?
  14. Bush actually looked pretty decent the few times I noticed him. DTD has been a disappointment so far.
  15. On a different note, some folks have commented on Card's arm strength. This was a poor decision, but not because of arm strength. He didn't have his feet set and threw this 50 yards in the air. Card has his issues, but lack of arm strength isn't one of them.
  16. Bama was up 28-7 at halftime after losing Bryce Young early in the second quarter. They weren't exactly struggling. And that was on the road. Bama may not be as good as they were two years ago, but they're still going to kick the crap out of aggy this week.
  17. The second half against Tech, he and Overshown managed to lose just about every one-on-one battle they had. It was nice to see them bounce back against WVU and actually look good.
  18. Sure, they won last year, but Bama is a different team at home than on the road. Here are the results at Bama since aggy joined the SEC: 2020: 52-24 2018: 45-23 2016: 33-14 2014: 59-0 2012: 24-29 They pulled off the upset the first game in Tuscaloosa with Manziel, but otherwise they get their asses kicked. Losing by 18 would be their best result at Bama in 10 years.
  19. Card wasn't perfect yesterday, but the game demonstrated how much he has improved since last year. He's getting better at staying calm in the pocket. He still holds on to the ball too long, but he's at least processing the play rather than panicking. There's still a lot of room for improvement, but he's definitely better. He's actually good running the ball this year. He doesn't run it much, but is effective when he does. Last year he was awful running. At this point, he's a pretty good backup QB. Maybe that's his ceiling, maybe it isn't. Either way, that's all we need him to be at the moment. I look forward to Ewers coming back, but feel better about Card coming off the bench now than I did a couple of weeks ago.
  20. That's the sad thing about Bonds. He was the best player in baseball before steroids, he just wasn't a home run hitter.
  21. You wouldn't happen to be a Nigerian prince by any chance, would you? And we need a surly betting pool on the next charity to be revealed. I'm going with puppies.
  22. That pretty much guarantees it'll be Ewers.
  23. Bama isn't the same on the road. They had close games against bad Florida and Auburn teams last year. Florida came out of their loss to Bama thinking it was a good sign for the rest of the season.
