2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
This year, PFF graded Murphy 7 or 8 points higher against the run than as a pass rusher and Sweat was 10 or so points higher as a pass rusher than against the run. Though both were elite in both facets. Caldwell and Collins have a similar profile - Caldwell is slightly better against the run and Collins is slightly better as a pass rusher. I don't know what happened with Bryant this year - he seemed to regress a bit.

Stupid take is stupid. Worthy has been the best receiver on the team since he stepped foot on campus.

If we get Caldwell and he and Collins both continue improving, there shouldn't be that much drop off on the DL. It may not be the best in the country, but it should still be really good. I agree on WR and TE, but an improved Ewers and OL should offset that. Basically, I think both sides of the ball should be the same or better even if individual units aren't as strong.

CFB coaching carousel
I don't know anything about Baker, but Mizzou had talent and experience this year that probably made his job easier. They have 3 or 4 guys on defense who could get drafted and a few more on offense. I assume they will revert to their mean after this season. Baker will have talent at LSU though so who knows. He seems like a decent coach, but that's a crazy salary.

Aggy 2024: Still waiting on the Looch 44
Gotta keep that Jersey pipeline going. That opens up Delaware, Connecticut, New Hampshire, etc. They could dominate more than 10% of US states (that they probably couldn't identify on a map).

McKinley is a 5 star. How can his stock rise? Isn't that the whole point of rating players?

Do you know the numbers for Sweat and Murphy last year? They both made significant jumps, which makes me wonder how Collins and Caldwell this season compare to Sweat and Murphy last season.

Sark seems to have a soft spot for doughy, underrated QBs.

Huh? Penix would have torched any secondary playing the way he and his receivers did last night. But the Texas secondary also got lit up by Donovan Smith, Will Howard, and Rocco Becht. It's a coaching problem.

2024 Game Week #1- Texas v Despondency
Sark showed in Washington and the last three years that he can build a team. Now we need to see if he can maintain what he's doing right (recruiting, navigating the portal, S&C, support staff, player development) and address weaknesses (secondary and game management).

Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
I'd be more willing to buy this argument if the secondary didn't struggle against KSU, Houston, etc.

Official Coach Sark Thread of Dominance—haters back off
Now we find out how good a coach Sark is. That was a disappointing end to a great season and Sark should be proud of what his team accomplished this year. That said, there are some clear issues that need to be fixed. Saban is the GOAT because, win or lose, he continually adjusts. Sark needs to do the same. There's no shame in getting lit up by Penix, but the secondary struggled way too much this year. Something's got to change back there. The offense struggled in the red zone most of the year. Some of that was Ewers, some play calling, some sloppy execution. Whatever it was, Sark needs to work it out. Clock management was iffy at times. The team too often played down to its competition. Hopefully Sark can make whatever changes are necessary to win the whole thing next year.
