  1. I like how many guys played today, but I'd rather than see Bijan after the game is decided. While the defense wasn't dominant, tt was sound. I don't remember a single wide open receiver down field. We gave up a lot of underneath stuff, but no total busts. Special teams also played well. No one was confused in any phase of the game.
  2. Texags isn't really in a position to make fun of cheer leaders.
  3. I didn't realize Meatloaf was the Arkansas coach.
  4. Arkansas offense in a battle with the Arkansas defense for who sucks more.
  5. Well, we know how LSU fans are getting to the game.
  6. Obligatory, "that's not his leg!" Also, I have no idea. Looks like he has a boil scar and two kneecaps.
  7. Napier is getting a lot of attention, but Coastal Carolina seems to be the better team. Their coach has only been there two years so I'll be curious to see how he does for another year or two. ULL outperformed CCU against common opponents one time (Southern Alabama), and lost to CCU head to head. CCU dominated most of the teams they played. Georgia St: ULL won by 3, CCU won by 51 Texas St: ULL won by 10, CCU by 35 Arkansas St: ULL won by 7, CCU by 22 South Alabama: ULL won by 28, CCU by 17 Georgia Southern: ULL won by 2, CCU by 14 Appalachian St: ULL won by 3, CCU by 11
  8. So who's going to start the collection to endow the "Texas A&M Penile Enlargement Pump and Me, by Jimbo Fisher" position and rename "Kids Who Don't Build Good Field"?
  9. I watched the ISU-ULL game last night and it seemed like a perfect storm for ISU. It was an ugly first game back from a long covid break that was decided on three plays. Both offenses stank, which isn't surprising given the circumstances. ISU gave up 257 yards of offense including 78 yards on one play. The defense essentially quit on the last drive when the game was over anyway. Otherwise, they physically dominated ULL as you'd expect. Take away the long TD pass and the last drive of the game and ULL's offense got its ass kicked. On the other side, ISU's offense stank. The line sucked, the play-calling sucked, Purdy really sucked. The interception wasn't totally his fault, but he had some terrible throws that should have been picked off. When he was on target, the receivers dropped the ball. ULL's defense, particularly the secondary, played well as evidenced by ISU's 297 yards of offense. But none of their guys stood out and they weren't doing anything special scheme-wise. They didn't kick ISU's ass. It was more like our offense circa 2014 - ISU's line missed assignments on play after play, receivers whiffed on blocks, etc. ULL was good enough to take advantage of the mistakes and even cause of few. That said, they seemed like a bunch of well coached JAGs. They out ISU'd ISU. There's nothing at all scary about ULL and they need help to win. If Strong or Herman were still around, we'd probably oblige them. I'm hoping Sark isn't as charitable. Our defense should absolutely murder their offense. It's the first game of the year under a new-ish system so I'm sure we'll have some busted plays and probably give up a couple of scores. If we don't shoot ourselves in the dick multiple times on offense and special teams this should be a comfortable win.
  10. That's what solar panels are for.
  11. Napier kind of sounds like Tom Herman.
  12. Before you get too caught up in Scipio's prognostications, remember that he had this to say about hiring Charlie Strong: "This is a decade hire, not a one year hire. If your attention span only functions in milliseconds, go follow Kim Kardashian on Twitter and watch Skip Bayless. When we're playing for the national championship four years from now, remember those doubts you had and chuckle at how hard you tried to make it all seem. This is Texas. We just hired a kick-ass football coach with a chip on his shoulder the size of a redwood."
  13. I'm all for being realistic, but let's not make stuff up. Chris Petersen is a fantastic coach and eventually got UW rolling, but he went 15-12 his first two years. Sark was 15-10 over his last two seasons. 2012: 7-6 (Sark) 2013: 8-4 (Sark - doesn't count bowl win after he left for USC) 2014: 8-6 (Petersen) 2015: 7-6 (Petersen)
  14. Counter-point, Tim Beck, Drew Mehringer, and Corby Meekins.
  15. Fuck it, 11-1 with a loss to ISU on the road. The defense should be great. DL and the secondary are stacked and LB should be much improved. A red-shirt freshman QB is always an adventure, but... Bijan. We don't want or need Card to carry the team the way Sam was expected to. We need decent QB play and a couple of receivers to step up. If that happens, we're good. We've got talent. Not Bama/Ohio State/Clemson talent, but enough to run the table in the Big 12. If Sark comes up with half-way decent game plans we should have an edge against everyone but OU. I assume we'll slip up somewhere. It all depends on Sark. I was disappointed with the hire initially and I'm still not entirely sold on him. UW was awful when he got there and he was apparently wasted the entire time at USC so it's hard to take much away from his time at either place. He put together a great staff though and the players seem to have responded to the new approach. I'm feeling optimistic now, but that could be the koolaid talking.
  16. Some of y'all are crazy. The first week or two of the season, I'll be ecstatic to watch literally any game that's on. Montana State vs Grambling? I'm watching the whole damn thing like it's the freaking championship game.
  17. Say she was drinking a Coors Light and there will be a Surly fatwa.
  18. I immediately thought of Jordy Nelson when I saw the post above. 15 years ago he would have ended up at KSU and none of us would have cared until he scored 3 TDs against Texas. Then Mack would remind everyone that winning is hard.
  19. Hey, my parents died when I was 10. Want to talk about that next? /The Wedding Singer.
  20. They really wanted that full circle narrative. BOB uses words. Bama uses words. Coincidence? I think not.
  21. Commentator says Sark will run the ball all day if you can't stop it and shows a clip of a big run against Notre Dame. The next play is a pass.
  22. Translation: This isn't College Station, stay away from coach's girlfriend.
  23. Also, why would we sit Overshown because we know what he can do and play Bijan.
