Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 2)
It's hard to believe that BON was the best Texas site for a chunk of time. That chunk of time ended abruptly when Peter Bean left.

Back away from the ledge!! It's not as bad as you think ....yet.
They also trailed at half to Rice. At home. And were tied at the end of the third quarter. Rice dreams of winning 4 games a season.

TEXAS QB TALK
Offense: We support both QBs. Defense: Casey looked better.

TEXAS QB TALK
I wouldn't mind taking lumps with Card if he had vastly superior talent. He definitely has a higher ceiling, but Card isn't Vince Young to Casey's Chance Mock.

Zee top five jobs in CFB according to Joel Klatt
The one knock on Ohio State (and Notre Dame for that matter) is that it doesn't have the local talent that Texas, Florida, and Georgia have access to. Ohio is definitely second tier for blue-chip recruits. It's not Nebraska, but it isn't Texas or Florida either who have a ton of talent within a reasonable driving distance. The same coach recruiting the same recruit would probably have an easier time convincing them to stay close to home. On the other hand, Ohio State has no in-state competitors, which off-sets the geographic disadvantage.

Same shit, same results
This is the right answer. LSU lucked into Saban and the prior decades of mediocrity magically disappeared. The same thing happened with Alabama. OU lucked into Stoops. Hire the right guy and all the rest works itself out. Hire the wrong guy and facilities, boosters, etc. aren't going to help you.

Tell me about the University of Southern California
You have to make Todd Orlando tell you no. Amiright? If not, they just aren't the USC I've come to know and love.

9.13.21 Coach Sark press conference 11am
There's also a difference between a QB who immediately runs when he sees his first option is covered and one who goes through his progressions and then runs. IT seems to be selling the narrative that Card stayed in the pocket because that's what he is supposed to do. Sark doesn't call many QB runs, but I imagine he's perfectly happy to see his QB pick up what he can if no one is open. Casey only has 1 game of experience, but he hasn't shown any signs of happy feet.

When Boyd sells out, he REALLY sells out.

Spent all our money on tight ends. Wait, that sounded bad...

I'm team Casey at this point. That said, I don't get the "Card sucks, Casey rules" takes. I still have high hopes for Card. He's just not ready yet. Most red-shirt freshman aren't. As good as Casey has played when given the chance, he only has one game of experience to date - a half against Colorado, a quarter against ULL, and a quarter plus against Arkansas. I don't know if he's the answer, but I'd like to find out. Casey should start, but we still need to get Card snaps. I suspect both guys will get better with actual game experience.

Game Week, Rice edition
The thread subtitle should be, "Oh no! We suck again."

Same shit, same results
As I said above, this is a stupid. If your wife makes shitty mashed potatoes, is it because of woke culture? No. She sucks at cooking. If your diagnosis of the problems with UT football align perfectly with your political views, you probably aren't really talking about football.

Same shit, same results
Apparently, College Station. They have recruited really well and put a shitty product on the field.

Same shit, same results
This is a stupid, lazy take. UCLA just got into a brawl with LSU and kicked their ass. Austin has nothing, absolutely NOTHING, on LA when it comes to distractions, not caring about football, etc. In the early 2000s, USC had celebrities at practice, on the sidelines during games, etc. They still kicked the crap out of everyone for a couple of years (until VY). Austin is a great town but football players are revered everywhere and have been for decades. There are distractions everywhere. Austin isn't special in that respect. If you're looking for the problem, start with the coaches. Teams reflect their coaches.

Our D-line has to be the biggest disappointment of the year so far. They were supposed to be one of the best in the country and so far they stink. Bo Davis is a great recruiter, but he's doing less with more than any other position group. The O-line is worse, which was expected. Still, there's no sign they've improved since last year. The secondary was also supposed to be a strength, but it's hard to gauge how they were doing because the game plan sucked.

TEXAS QB TALK
IT has a financial interest in the outcome of the QB battle. If they had any integrity at all, they wouldn't say a fucking word about our QBs without adding a disclaimer that they have a conflict of interest.

Hey PK -- What would you say you do here?
This. I didn't love the Sark hire, but thought he put together a great staff. I'm not so sure that matters anymore. Saban and Meyer have both shown they can win with just about any staff. When Herman lost to Maryland, we attributed it to talent, culture, etc. In the end, that's just who Herman was. We have more than enough talent to beat Arkansas. Perhaps "Seven win Steve" is just who Sark is.

Isn't this from the $9.95ers who had an NIL deal with Card? That whole thing was shady as fuck.

Aggy @ Buffs - Fox
Aggy even sucks at sucking. This game is awful.

Oregon @ Ohio State, FOX, 11 am
Ryan Day seems like Mack Brown as far as doing less with more.

There's a strong recency bias here.
