  1. I feel like our biggest problem this year has been the first 3 1/2 quarters and the last minute or two. Other than that, we've been nails.
  2. As a life-long t-shirt fan, Urban Meyer hurting UT's academic standing while winning boatloads of games is a risk I'm willing to take.
  3. I'm not convinced that Herman's "mistakes" are fixable. The evidence to date suggests he's just not a good head coach. Herman has more talent than Mack Brown's last couple of years and worse results. There are lots of things Mack could have (and should have) done better. It's hard to look at any aspect of the team this year and say, if only this one thing were better we'd be great. It's hard to even find something that we're really good at. If Herman had to potential to be a great coach, I'd expect to see some signs of it. I just don't.
  4. It's 2020 and Herman can't even shit the bed properly. Texas will win the game, but it'll be closer than the score indicates. No one will pay attention to the circumstances and we'll hear how Texas has turned things around, our new coordinators just needed some time, we'll be ranked, people will say we still control our own destiny, etc. Then OSU will kick the crap out of us. That's just how it has to be.
  5. Earl was all, "Johnny, I apologize. I forgot you were there. You may go now."
  6. Regardless of how many players Babers spoke to, all but one of the players went into the locker room after the last game. That's a pretty clear indicator of how the players feel. And it's hard to believe CDC was unaware of earlier reports that Herman gave players the option to go into the locker room or not. He certainly was aware they weren't staying on the field through the first four games. This is about the worst possible way for CDC and Herman to handle the situation.
  7. Praising Ash is just Urban's way of saying Herman sucks.
  8. Saban is starting to slip a bit. I'm too lazy to look back Bobby Bowden's decline, but it happens to everyone.
  9. This was the second week in a row that an offense came in with a plan designed to take advantage of Texas' weaknesses. I don't remember the last time we did that.
  10. He's a slightly more sober Kevin Sumlin. Good recruiter, mediocre team.
  11. So "crappy" doesn't count as an identity? They seem pretty consistent that way.
  12. I didn't get to watch the whole game, but I don't remember thinking there were structural issues with the defense like we saw with Orlando that resulted in wide open running lanes or receivers running free in the secondary. I thought the secondary provided pretty good coverage and just got beat. That happens. I'll be more concerned if we keep seeing our linebackers getting torched without adjusting. Basically, it didn't look like the design of the defense was flawed. Which hopefully means it can be fixed with better execution and adjusting our coverage to protect the linebackers more.
  13. If we're bringing back painful memories, why not add the Oilers' collapse against Buffalo.
  14. The defense hasn't gotten enough love from the game. I'm scarred from last year, but the defense looked really organized. Even the true freshman seemed to know what they were supposed to do. Last year, our starters didn't know what they were doing for chunks for time. And we tackled well. I expected more sloppiness given it was the first game, no spring practice, etc. UTEP isn't a good team, but we've struggled in the past against bad offenses. Last year there were a few completions a game where a receiver caught a pass with no defender within 10 yards of them or defenders didn't understand their assignment. We looked competent.
  15. Barry Sanders approves of this message.
  16. I assume you are excluding all things aggy. Otherwise this wouldn't make the top 100.
  17. I live in Houston and didn't know Houston Baptist had a football team.
  18. I forget where I saw it, but Suh's sack total was comparable to Texas' and Alabama's totals that year. He was within a sack or two of both the national champion and the runner up. Of course, the 38 or so sacks he had in the Big 12 championship may have skewed his numbers. Either way, his season was ridiculous.
  19. Most years I really want one team to lose, but I don't hate either of these teams.
  20. Saban probably has 4 analysts just assessing the turf each game.
