  1. Anyone know the breakdown of Texas analysts on offense vs defense? We brought in Fedora and Beatty (at least I think we brought Beatty in) who are both offensive guys. Herman and Orlando could use some outside input from experienced defensive coaches.
  2. I don't have a problem with going for it on 4th down. I have a problem with the play calling. Herman wanted to make a statement by running it in. It failed and he ended up making a statement, just not the one he wanted to make.
  3. I saw Chaisson get pancaked more than I saw him making plays. I think he got a sack at the end of the first half and made a stop on a run play in the second. I didn't hear his name other than that.
  4. Ehlinger struggles with the deep ball. Everyone wants to be explosive, but that's just not his game. He's really good with the long, 12+ play drives where the team consistently picks up first downs and marches down field. Herman and Beck need to embrace that.
  5. I loved when he pointed out the Charles had missed the previous game and "really set the edge" on an LSU run to the left. Then the replay showed the tackle whiffing on everything and looking totally lost. Classic.
  6. The glass-half-full view is that we have much more room for improvement than LSU's offense. We left more on the field than they did and still had a chance. On defense, it was a different story.
  7. I agree. And LSU may want to put away their DBU paraphernalia for a while as well.
  8. Does he? Our o-line won their side of the ball. It was closer for our d-line, but I'd call it slightly in Texas' favor there. They torched our secondary, but we torched theirs right back. Burrow was on fire and outplayed Sam, but not by much. The running games were pretty much a wash. They just out-coached us. They had a better plan on offense than we did and executed it more consistently. Or put another way, their defense was slightly less crappy than ours.
  9. I posted this in another thread, but I think our secondary under performing is becoming a pattern. This happened last week too - we flood the field with DB's and yet receivers routinely find open space.
  10. I feel the same way - I'm disappointed more than mad. I'm also curious about what we need to improve on to win these types of games. The easy answer is a better secondary, but we've been bringing in talent. We have young players who are going to take their lumps. But usually you'd see ups and downs. We stank tonight. I don't remember a corner making a good play. The safeties looked better, but not great. Brandon Jones had a good game, but Sterns was missing and Foster was up and down. Our corners are under performing and that seems to be a pattern. On offense, we are missing a good h-back/tight end and rb depth. And better or at least more consistent play calling.
  11. If we're being positive: I thought both lines played well. I was most afraid of our o-line vs their d-line, but I'd say our o-line won more than they lost. They got a little sloppy at the end of both halves, but were nails for long stretches. And not just when LSU players were writhing in pain from their menstrual cramps. Same with the d-line, they held their own for the most part. I can't remember that last time that happened. Duvernay is a stud and Eagles looks like a player. Ehlinger stank up the joint in the first half so it was nice to see him step up the second half. RoJo is a player.
  12. The frustrating thing was the d-line played reasonably well. They couldn't run the ball effectively so it's not like we had to commit bodies to stop the run. It seemed like Orlando was afraid to adjust his play calling due to a threat that wasn't there.
  13. It's hard to argue that. He's both quick and physical.

    Duvernay

Can announcers stop saying CJ is our best receiver now? He might be our third best. It's Duvernay, Eagles, then CJ. Duvernay is going to haunt Delpit's dreams.
  15. Yep, I didn't believe their offense would do much. And.... I was wrong. Hats off to them. Burrow looked like a heisman candidate today. Chaisson and their defense need to slow their roll, though. They looked as bad as our D did.
  16. I'm not on the fire Orlando train, but he got his ass handed to him tonight.
  17. Sam is having a bad game, but otherwise it's hard to fault the team's play. Both lines seem to be holding up. CJ can't get open, but we've had our chances. This seems mostly bad coaching. Even in the secondary they don't have guys running wide open. They are just calling a better game and making plays. Herman is directly responsible for a 14 point swing. The second goal line stand and then having nothing resembling a plan on the 2 minute drill before we gave it back to them.
  18. If I had to spend 3 hours in close proximity to that many aggies, I'd probably self medicate too. Although something tells me aggy has experience doping others.
  19. Like I said, you can't spell "half-literate" without L.S.U. Or as GumboPot would say, "halve-literate."
  20. You can't spell semi-literate without L.S.U.
