  1. I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that's not how going sober works.
  2. DeBoer seems like a really good coach, but there were some odd aspects to his team. They had a bunch of older guys and yet their defense wasn't great. Despite having an elite passing offense, they weren't effective running the ball. It could be a fluke, but someone like Norvell seems like a much better bet.
  3. Have you don't anything yet that didn't involve cocks today? Wait, nevermind. I don't want to know.
  4. Never mind. I was wrong. The NCAA page doesn't say the top 4 champions get the top 4 seeds. However, the announcement did say that. So your original scenario could play out. This doesn't say the top 4 spots are reserved for champs: https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2023-12-03/how-12-team-college-football-playoff-will-work-teams-schedule-bids This one does: https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2022-12-01/college-football-playoff-expand-12-teams-starting-2024-season
  5. Conference champions get an automatic bid, but are not guaranteed a bye. At least one conference champion will not get a bye each year given the number of conferences. Also, at-large selections could be among the top 4 seeds, which we saw with TCU last year (under a very different setup, but still...). So seeding will probably matter enough to keep teams from sitting their starters. Or at least enough that it is a rare occurrence.
  6. He played that shit up for the cameras. Needed that sympathy since he shit all over the bed last night. He hit a deep pass late in the game, he was fine. Just picked the wrong time to have a terrible game. Michigan was begging Washington to take over that game all 2nd half but Washington offense said nah. In between the 2TD runs to start the game and the later part of the game, Washington defense did everything they could to keep them in the game. He would have really benefited from Ewers throwing a TD on that last drive. The narrative would have been how he had an incredible game and his coach and defense squandered it and who knows what would have happened against Michigan. Instead, we know he'd play like shit and act like a little bitch.
  7. I'd hope so. I haven't watched Michigan this year. If last night is any indication, you could swap him out for any decent QB and the result would have been similar, if not better. They don't ask much of JJ and he didn't deliver much. Better QB play and the game would have been over at halftime.
  8. That was so frustrating after last week. Michigan's defense deserves a ton of credit, but Washington's offense were willing accomplices. Michigan did a great job pressuring Penix, but he was off before they were consistently getting to him. It was still early when Penix missed Odunze on what should have been an easy throw. There were 5 or 6 times in the broadcast where a receiver was wide open and Penix just made the wrong read. The Washington receivers had a bad game too. Part of that was the defense, but they had some wide open drops.
  9. Penix tapped out. He was seeing ghosts the last 5 minutes of the game.
  10. Does JJ suck? His OC doesn't seem to trust him one bit.
  11. Texas is #23, average incoming rating is 91 (3) and average outgoing is 70 (14). Texas also has the highest average for incoming players.
  12. There was no commitment. They were spending a lot of time together and then one thing led to another... It just kinda happened.
  13. We need a greatest hits video - there was that time they got Weigman injured. Then that time they got Johnson injured. Then that other time they got Weigman injured.
  14. I agree on the life choices, but not because of Madison. It's a great town that's much more like Austin than College Station.
  15. They have Tennessee and Auburn before us next year. Not exactly a gauntlet, but enough to keep them honest. At least more than Tulsa and Cincy. I'm looking forward to not being everyone's biggest game in the SEC. Texas will always be a priority for OU, but I doubt MSU and Kentucky are planning their seasons around Texas the way Tech, Baylor, and TCU have.
  16. This year, PFF graded Murphy 7 or 8 points higher against the run than as a pass rusher and Sweat was 10 or so points higher as a pass rusher than against the run. Though both were elite in both facets. Caldwell and Collins have a similar profile - Caldwell is slightly better against the run and Collins is slightly better as a pass rusher. I don't know what happened with Bryant this year - he seemed to regress a bit.
  17. Stupid take is stupid. Worthy has been the best receiver on the team since he stepped foot on campus.
  18. If we get Caldwell and he and Collins both continue improving, there shouldn't be that much drop off on the DL. It may not be the best in the country, but it should still be really good. I agree on WR and TE, but an improved Ewers and OL should offset that. Basically, I think both sides of the ball should be the same or better even if individual units aren't as strong.
  19. They are killing it on precision.
  20. I don't know anything about Baker, but Mizzou had talent and experience this year that probably made his job easier. They have 3 or 4 guys on defense who could get drafted and a few more on offense. I assume they will revert to their mean after this season. Baker will have talent at LSU though so who knows. He seems like a decent coach, but that's a crazy salary.
  21. Gotta keep that Jersey pipeline going. That opens up Delaware, Connecticut, New Hampshire, etc. They could dominate more than 10% of US states (that they probably couldn't identify on a map).
  22. And is making him the highest paid assistant in the country. That's... something.
  23. McKinley is a 5 star. How can his stock rise? Isn't that the whole point of rating players?
  24. Do you know the numbers for Sweat and Murphy last year? They both made significant jumps, which makes me wonder how Collins and Caldwell this season compare to Sweat and Murphy last season.
