  1. I posted that lesson info for anyone on here who might be out in Vegas with a friend/wife/sugarbaby/whatever who would be interested to learn the basics Everyone here already has the HG method committed to memory or the Slorch don’ts
  2. Beginner class learn to play craps at the former Hard Rock. Requirement to sign up for their rewards program which I believe is free to do
  3. Mattress Mack lost $4.7 million in six days betting on football. On Jan. 10, Houston furniture store owner Jim McIngvale, aka “Mattress Mack,” lost $2.7 million in money-line wagers on Alabama when the Crimson Tide lost 33-18 to Georgia in the College Football Playoff national title game. On Saturday, Mack lost $2 million in futures bets on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl when New England was whipped 47-17 by the Buffalo Bills in their AFC wild-card playoff game. Mack, who placed the bets on Alabama at Caesars Sportsbook and the wagers on the Patriots at Barstool Sportsbook and theScore Bet, said Monday that he took the losses in stride. “Life happens and you move on,” said McIngvale, 70. “You know how long it took me to get over it? Two seconds each. A gambler has to be resilient, if anything. They knock you down and you’ve got to get back up. “A setback is just a setup for a comeback.” The bets on Alabama were the latest in a long line of multimillion-dollar hedge bets to offset potential losses on furniture promotions. In this case, customers were offered their money back on purchases of $3,000 or more if the Tide won. “The promotion was great because Alabama is such a strong brand,” Mack said. “I made my last bet on the Sunday night before the game. So many people came in Monday, they overwhelmed us. I was a little heavy on the other side, so it worked out. “Afterwards, we did a deal where we offered all customers who lost a $1,000 gift certificate. It was good for business.” The wagers on the Patriots, which would’ve paid $46 million at 23-1 odds, weren’t part of a promotion. Mack placed the bets Nov. 18, during New England’s seven-game regular-season winning streak, and simply thought they were a good value at 23-1. Mack won $2.7 million on Tampa Bay +3½ over Kansas City in last year’s Super Bowl to snap a losing streak that included $13 million in losing bets on the Houston Astros to win the 2019 World Series. After cashing his tickets on the Buccaneers, Mack has lost a total of $12.1 million in wagers: $1 million on Houston to win the NCAA title, $2.4 million on Essential Quality to win the Kentucky Derby, $4 million on the Astros to win the World Series and the $4.7 million in bets on Alabama and the Patriots. Mack said all the gambling losses have been worth it when taking the promotions and publicity it has generated for his Gallery Furniture stores into consideration. “Absolutely. It creates excitement,” he said. “Brick-and-mortar retailers are under siege right now. Unless we do something to differentiate ourselves from the competition, the Amazons of the world are going to overwhelm us.” Stay tuned for Mack’s next massive bet. “I’m trying to get one going for this weekend. I’m looking at the futures right now,” he said. “You tell them I’m still firing away. I ain’t backing down.” https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/mattress-mack-loses-4-7m-in-6-days-betting-football-2514812/
  4. Supposedly Palms reopening under new ownership to happen around April
  5. If you want to really go big baller style and money isn’t a concern, you could stay at The Mansion (mentioned above). Won’t offer the Strip views but otherwise spectacular with the best service of any place. I toured it with management years ago. Only starting a few years ago would they let you pay for a room. Previously it was only invited guests who are whales (huge gamblers).
  6. Could have been Sen of Japan. One of the higher rated locals places that I frequent. Last time I went I was sitting next to a fairly well known guy who won the World Series of Poker.
  7. Depends on where you want to eat and use the pool and see any shows or activities. Cannot beat Wynn/Encore for sure. But if you might be doing more center Strip things, could look at Sky suites at Aria (recently revamped I think), or a suite with balcony at Cosmo overlooking the Strip and Bellagio fountains.
  8. My first memory of the famous Sigma Derby game was many many years ago . . . There was this dude named VY. He was pretty good. So Sushihorn (yeah that guy) and I flew to Vegas for the Rose Bowl and rented a car to go watch Texas defeat Michigan in a great game. Back then, we frequently stayed at MGM Grand as Sushihorn was quite a craps baller so I would piggyback off his comps. Free rooms/food/shows/etc. For some reason upon our return to Vegas, I wake up early and hit the gaming floor of MGM Grand around 7am and discover a really cute blonde 20/21 year old girl playing Sigma Derby all by herself, wearing burnt orange. So I ease my way up to the game and find out she is undergrad sorority girl at UT and her friends were asleep (as was Sushihorn) but she’s been playing the game for hours. She said she couldn’t quit. Will never forget seeing her sitting up against that table clutching a big plastic cup full of quarters and itching for the next race to begin. It’s quite fascinating to watch actually. She and her 3 sorority sisters had road tripped to Vegas, drove from Texas. I sat down and played with her for awhile and it was an easy transition to tell her we would be happy to buy her and her friends breakfast when everyone was up. Felt like scenes out of the movie Swingers as we were all eating at the 24/7 restaurant at MGM Grand and then later that night partying at a booth at Studio 54 (I think that’s what it was called back then), me and Sushi and 4 cute UT sorority girls. Yadda yadda yadda it was such a great trip that we declared then and there we were absolutely coming back to Vegas in one year if/when Texas make the National Championship game. So we were ready to jump all over that same itinerary when we were announced to match up against USC. Two amazing trips. So, all time shout out to Sigma Derby may it live forever. I need to get downtown and see it again some time, maybe a nice young lady will be playing it . . .
  9. THE D LAS VEGAS SIGMA DERBY “Come on Lucky Number 4!” A common phrase heard around the Sigma Derby table found on the second floor of the D Las Vegas Casino. This 34-year-old game was a staple in most casinos and is a star attraction at the D. Currently, it is the only one remaining in the city. Sigma Derby is a beautifully-crafted track game that includes 5 mechanical horses. All you have to do is bet which horses will be first and second. Sounds easy, but betting can only be placed with quarters. Before the game starts, you choose which horse you think will win and have the chance of betting odds that range from 2-1 to 200-1. You then have 30 seconds to put in your quarter, then after that, the gears and motors take over while you sit back and cheer. Located around the game are 10 stations for people to gather and cheer on their lucky horse. Come check out this novelty game and hopefully win big while making some new friends. https://www.thed.com/casino/sigma-derby/
  10. Haven’t done that specific bike tour but been out to Red Rocks a few times and it never disappoints. Highly recommend to those who have exhausted most of the Strip activities and looking for something different. I’ve seen all kinds of groups out there on bicycles, motorcycles, runners, 3/4 wheelers etc Only about a 20 min trip from the Strip.
  11. I know a few Vegas regulars who say this is their favorite restaurant. Definitely has a strong following.
  12. Dig around the website and check the room details. My last trip at Caesars we stayed in the same tower as the meeting so that tower elevator opened right into the meeting space which was really convenient. So if you will be using the pool every day, there are two towers more located near that (it’s in the room details). Or if none of that matters and you like the look of the Nobu rooms, go for it, think those are priced higher. My suggestion would be to book a regular room and then when checking in ask about upgrade options. If available they can upgrade you for a better price and we grabbed a nice high floor suite with good views. Assume the wife wants to stay on property to wear heels to the show. Been out there many times with the ladies dressed up and while that helps a little bit, they still have to walk quite a bit and end up complaining later on anyways. But you can’t really go wrong staying at CP, iconic property with center strip location.
  13. They were refreshing the rooms in the Nobu hotel and apparently that is done. Also redoing the front entrance to the casino and haven’t seen any updates on that lately but surely someone on here walked in recently. Also the new Adele show is about to kick off soon but assume they didn’t make many if any changes outside of the theater.
  14. LAS VEGAS (January 10, 2022) — Legendary New York Steak House Peter Luger is coming to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas at the end of 2022. This marks the first domestic expansion in over sixty years for the Michelin-starred restaurant, which opened its doors in 1887 and is commonly known as New York City’s original steak house. It will be their first U.S. location outside of New York. (Going into the Rao’s space) http://www.edgevegas.com/iconic-peter-luger-steak-house-to-open-las-vegas-location-at-caesars-palace/
