  1. I don’t mind a new player and the dealer having to help them out a little bit, especially when the new player is listening and trying to pick up on the rules and momentum of the game. But the drunk idiot who has that magic combo of not paying attention, not knowing the rules, and really slowing down the game . . . can only last so long before the floor needs to get involved. Obviously you aren’t trying to run off a fish but there are limits to that rule.
  2. Bally’s rebrand to Horseshoe: LAS VEGAS, Jan. 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary casino brand Horseshoe is returning to Las Vegas as Bally's begins a transformation into the brand known for gaming, poker and making it right for the gambler. The transformation will begin in the spring of 2022 and will include a renovated exterior, new entertainment and food and beverage options, and a reimagined casino floor and public areas. In keeping with Horseshoe's classic sophistication, the design team will incorporate a handcrafted feeling with tooled leather, dramatic colors, and the brand's signature gold horseshoe iconography. Additional details will be announced as the evolution progresses. "At Horseshoe, it's all about the gambler. Since 1951 Horseshoe Casinos have been home to the best odds, highest limits, and biggest jackpots. So, it's fitting that we bring Horseshoe back to Las Vegas, and right on the Las Vegas Strip," said Jason Gregorec, SVP and General Manager of the property. "Holding to the Horseshoe tradition of providing impeccable service, our guests will see the property transform over time, ensuring we aren't disrupting the excitement while we make the transition." Occupying one of the most coveted locations in gaming, Horseshoe Las Vegas will stand at the 50-yard-line of the Las Vegas Strip at the corner of Flamingo Rd. The multi-million dollar investment is the latest in a series of reimaginings for Caesars Entertainment's storied Las Vegas resorts, including a new entrance to Caesars Palace, multi-million dollar investments in casino floor, and gaming technology across the properties, and incredible partnerships with world-class entertainers and restaurateurs. "Bringing the Horseshoe brand back to life in Las Vegas allows us to celebrate both our history and our future," said Sean McBurney, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. "2022 starts a new era for the Caesars Entertainment empire in Las Vegas, one being heralded by the return of Horseshoe." Horseshoe Casino was started by a gambler for gamblers. Over the years, as the brand expanded to markets across the country, Horseshoe has stayed true to its heritage, holding on to the thrilling spirit of no-limit betting. That spirit will come alive this summer as Caesars Entertainment's World Series of Poker returns to its roots, having been first played at Las Vegas' original Horseshoe in 1970, as it moves to the Strip for the very first time. "We couldn't be more excited to see the World Series of Poker return to Horseshoe," said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. "Horseshoe is where it all began for WSOP. It's always been a brand for gamblers and card players. As we move WSOP to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time, that it will happen at Horseshoe makes it incredibly special." The 53rd annual World Series of Poker comes to the Strip May 31 – July 19, 2022, just as the property begins construction. For more information, visit www.wsop.com. The transformation to Horseshoe Las Vegas should be complete by the end of 2022. https://investor.caesars.com/news-releases/news-release-details/caesars-entertainments-historic-horseshoe-comes-las-vegas-strip
  3. Yep the UK Daily Mail has some reporting on that as did the typical Vegas gossip guys. Something about she didn’t want to float over a lake they built on the stage and needed to redo the sound and lighting at the last min. Lots of behind the scenes drama supposedly.
  4. Looks like Wynn buffet is only Fri/sat/sun. Caesars is still open and probably the best. Many closed permanently.
  5. The Texas Card House (TCH) in Dallas mysteriously had its permit revoked by the city months after it was approved, but the room is still in operation and games were spread as of Friday evening. PokerNews reached out to the Dallas City Attorney's Office for an explanation as to what violations the card room allegedly committed but we haven't yet received a response. We also contacted Ryan Crow, CEO for Texas Card House, and are awaiting a response. We'll share any information we're provided as soon as possible. TCH issued the following statement on social media: "As we understand the concern, we can assure you that we would honor any outstanding chips or balances for our members in the event that we are shut down. However, we feel strongly about our ability to overcome this battle and foresee this process taking a long time in the interim. One of the many perks of playing at TCH locations, we are bigger than just one location. Additionally, we back our product 100% and are committed to doing the right things by our players, staff, and community." https://www.pokernews.com/news/2022/01/texas-card-house-poker-dallas-40593.htm
  6. For me I’d do the sushi place and the high end Chinese restaurant but that’s what I like.
  7. Raise your hand if you never saw that Derka video. I made it about halfway thru just now. I always liked Derka so it’s still funny to me how seriously he takes the internet. He never realized to put futureM on ignore? Sheesh. The best was when Derka showed up to one of the first TX/OU Friday night happy hours and busted out a freestyle rap. You had to be there but it was pretty great, especially when meeting him for the first time.
  8. I think she is saying it’s pretty much covid related when half her show team has/had it and then covid related (?) supply chain issues. Hopefully a few months pushed back and then it’s a go. She’s slated to make record amounts per night and to bring in a high dollar crowd. So Vegas could use it ASAP.
  9. Check the Gambling board thread Craps for Beginners. I’m not an expert on craps but betting the “ don’t pass “ is basically wagering that the shooter will roll a 7 before hitting the point number. It’s a fairly simple bet however there are additional hedging strategies that can be employed and get more complicated. Ask your question over there and should get some responses.
  10. ^ Adele has apologized profusely for postponing her “Weekends With Adele” residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which was scheduled to begin Friday, Jan. 21 and run through mid-April.
  11. I posted that lesson info for anyone on here who might be out in Vegas with a friend/wife/sugarbaby/whatever who would be interested to learn the basics Everyone here already has the HG method committed to memory or the Slorch don’ts
  12. Beginner class learn to play craps at the former Hard Rock. Requirement to sign up for their rewards program which I believe is free to do
  13. Mattress Mack lost $4.7 million in six days betting on football. On Jan. 10, Houston furniture store owner Jim McIngvale, aka “Mattress Mack,” lost $2.7 million in money-line wagers on Alabama when the Crimson Tide lost 33-18 to Georgia in the College Football Playoff national title game. On Saturday, Mack lost $2 million in futures bets on the Patriots to win the Super Bowl when New England was whipped 47-17 by the Buffalo Bills in their AFC wild-card playoff game. Mack, who placed the bets on Alabama at Caesars Sportsbook and the wagers on the Patriots at Barstool Sportsbook and theScore Bet, said Monday that he took the losses in stride. “Life happens and you move on,” said McIngvale, 70. “You know how long it took me to get over it? Two seconds each. A gambler has to be resilient, if anything. They knock you down and you’ve got to get back up. “A setback is just a setup for a comeback.” The bets on Alabama were the latest in a long line of multimillion-dollar hedge bets to offset potential losses on furniture promotions. In this case, customers were offered their money back on purchases of $3,000 or more if the Tide won. “The promotion was great because Alabama is such a strong brand,” Mack said. “I made my last bet on the Sunday night before the game. So many people came in Monday, they overwhelmed us. I was a little heavy on the other side, so it worked out. “Afterwards, we did a deal where we offered all customers who lost a $1,000 gift certificate. It was good for business.” The wagers on the Patriots, which would’ve paid $46 million at 23-1 odds, weren’t part of a promotion. Mack placed the bets Nov. 18, during New England’s seven-game regular-season winning streak, and simply thought they were a good value at 23-1. Mack won $2.7 million on Tampa Bay +3½ over Kansas City in last year’s Super Bowl to snap a losing streak that included $13 million in losing bets on the Houston Astros to win the 2019 World Series. After cashing his tickets on the Buccaneers, Mack has lost a total of $12.1 million in wagers: $1 million on Houston to win the NCAA title, $2.4 million on Essential Quality to win the Kentucky Derby, $4 million on the Astros to win the World Series and the $4.7 million in bets on Alabama and the Patriots. Mack said all the gambling losses have been worth it when taking the promotions and publicity it has generated for his Gallery Furniture stores into consideration. “Absolutely. It creates excitement,” he said. “Brick-and-mortar retailers are under siege right now. Unless we do something to differentiate ourselves from the competition, the Amazons of the world are going to overwhelm us.” Stay tuned for Mack’s next massive bet. “I’m trying to get one going for this weekend. I’m looking at the futures right now,” he said. “You tell them I’m still firing away. I ain’t backing down.” https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/mattress-mack-loses-4-7m-in-6-days-betting-football-2514812/
  14. Supposedly Palms reopening under new ownership to happen around April
  15. And that account no longer exists on the twitter machine . . .
  16. Armybrat may or may not be in this picture
  17. If you want to really go big baller style and money isn’t a concern, you could stay at The Mansion (mentioned above). Won’t offer the Strip views but otherwise spectacular with the best service of any place. I toured it with management years ago. Only starting a few years ago would they let you pay for a room. Previously it was only invited guests who are whales (huge gamblers).
  18. Could have been Sen of Japan. One of the higher rated locals places that I frequent. Last time I went I was sitting next to a fairly well known guy who won the World Series of Poker.
  19. Depends on where you want to eat and use the pool and see any shows or activities. Cannot beat Wynn/Encore for sure. But if you might be doing more center Strip things, could look at Sky suites at Aria (recently revamped I think), or a suite with balcony at Cosmo overlooking the Strip and Bellagio fountains.
