  1. Sorry for the delay, was in a wedding this weekend. Okay, so you could check out the fairly new Cipriani in the Wynn. They have a private room option. Also, one of the top seafood places is Milos and they moved from Cosmo to Venetian and they have 2 private rooms. Otherwise, all the standard options that are open at Wynn/Encore I’m sure are still solid. I’m headed back out soon to get an update on the ground.

  3. LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Cirque du Soleil announced that another one of its Las Vegas Strip productions will soon return to the stage. According to a news release, The Beatles LOVE will reopen at The Mirage on Aug. 26. Tickets will go on sale on June 24, according to Cirque. Visit https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/ for more information.
  4. Haven’t done it but from checking out the website it looks pretty sweet
  5. Resorts World isn’t done revealing all the food and beverage it has to offer. Carver Road Hospitality, the new hospitality company from nightlife impressario Sean Christie, plans to open Carversteak at the resort in December. The 14,500-square-foot restaurant stakes a claim as the city’s largest steakhouse and the resort’s only steak-focused restaurant. Christie, who launched Carver Road Hospitality in April 2020, says Carversteak will be a new spin on the classic steakhouse with a restaurant that changes its mood and tone throughout the night. The steakhouse specializes in thick dry-aged American cuts, global artisan beef producers, and Japanese-certified wagyu cuts. Teased dishes include a 12-hour slow-roasted prime rib and lobster thermidor en croûte, as well as caviar poppers, wagyu mini cheesesteak bites, and vegan dishes. Carver Road Hospitality’s vice president of beverage and hospitality culture Francesco Lafranconi created the cocktails and wine list with a curated whisky collection that sits inside a tasting room. A terrace will showcase an “Avant-Garden” with classic and contemporary cocktails that use the on-site herb garden with its collection of mint varietals. The main bar and lounge plan to feature the full menu, 24 bar seats, lounge seating, and a 30-foot LCD screen displaying art and sporting events. Carver Road tapped design studio DesignAgency to create the mid-century modern look of the steakhouse that takes its inspiration from the Las Vegas landscape. Two private dining rooms — dubbed The Knife Shop and Scotch Room — a 70-foot honed quartzite stone bar, and 3,500-square-foot terrace complete with a bar, dining, and lounge gardens overlooking the Las Vegas Strip are just some of the design elements teased. The restaurant’s interior features rotating digital and traditional art pieces alongside a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/6/15/22535213/carversteak-steakhouse-sean-christie-opening-resorts-world-december-2021
  6. Mandalay Bay and its neighbor Delano show signs of restaurant re-awakenings with a number returning to the dining scene. BBQ Mexicana, the counter-service restaurant from Two Hot Tamales Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, reopened full time with service every Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant offers a menu of barbacoa and smoked meats served in bowls, salads, and burritos filled with Mesquite smoked chicken, pulled pork, slow-smoked Texas-style brisket, and smoked tofu make the menu, as do aguas frescas, beers, and margaritas to go. Aureole, the American restaurant from Charlie Palmer, reopens from July 10-14, July 22-26, and August 2-5 with its four-story climate-controlled wine tower. Try an Alaskan wild-caught halibut with baby leeks, clams, mussels, and saffron jus; diver sea scallops with English peas, pearl onion, and bacon; or bone-in rib-eye with peppercorn sauce, or just order a seafood platter for two. Fleur reopens on July 26 with a classic bistro menu that includes duck confit, coq au vin, and filet Rossini. Chef Hubert Keller stepped away from the restaurant early this year. Skyfall Lounge, the cocktail bar on the 63rd floor at the Delano, reopened with its view of the Las Vegas Strip on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to midnight. Rivea, the French restaurant from Alain Duccase next door to Skyfall, reopens July 1. The restaurant with French and Italian influences specializes in shareable dishes such as marinated sea bass, focaccia di recco with stracchino cheese and olive oil, and crispy socca with chickpea crêpes. Try butternut squash and ricotta ravioli, potato gnocchi with sage and Parmesan cheese, or lobster risotto. Della’s Kitchen reopens at the Delano on July 29 with breakfast and lunch. Other popular restaurants such as Border Grill with its Mexican fare and stellar brunch, StripSteak from Michael Mina with its A5 Japanese wagyu and 100 single malts scotches, Kumi with its modern Japanese menu with a Korean American twist, the Italian Lupo by Wolfgang Puck, and Libertine Social from chef Shawn McClain already reopened with limited hours. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/6/22/22543147/mandalay-bay-reopens-restaurants-aureole-rivea-skyfall-lounge-fleur
  7. Las Vegas, NV (June 21, 2021) – Today, Resorts World Las Vegas announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with Grubhub, a leading online and mobile food-ordering and delivery platform, to become the first resort to offer Grubhub’s advanced ordering technology. Through On The Fly at Resorts World powered by Grubhub, guests can conveniently order and charge the cost to their room or credit card via the Grubhub app from the resort’s 40 food and beverage concepts and select retail shops for pickup or delivery to guest rooms as well as the resort’s 5.5-acre pool complex. “Our partnership with GrubHub further expands our goal of providing guests with first-of-its-kind experiences at the resort,” said Scott Sibella, President of Resorts World Las Vegas. “Resorts World Las Vegas is proud to be the first resort to integrate this technology and offer our guests a convenient mobile-ordering solution for a variety of food, beverage and retail items across the property.” This marks the first time Grubhub has partnered with a hotel and casino to provide its technology and will take the place of traditional in-room dining, redeveloping the way guests get to experience the culinary and retail attractions at Resorts World Las Vegas. Guests can order from the resort’s extensive food and beverage portfolio that offers a wide range of cuisines such as Famous Foods Street Eats, the property’s 16-stall culinary marketplace that features Michelin Plate and Bib Gourmand-recognized hawker stands from Southeast Asia and popular western concepts; Hollywood hot spot Craig’s Vegan, a scoop shop featuring creamy and decadent vegan frozen treats; an outpost of the popular L.A. wine bar and restaurant, Wally’s Wine & Spirits; and more. “We’re excited to bring our integrated tech solution to Resort World Las Vegas and its guests,” said Brian Madigan, vice president of campus and corporate partners at Grubhub. “Our goal has always been to make ordering food as easy and convenient as possible for hungry diners, and this mobile ordering experience at Resorts World Las Vegas is our latest proof point of that — effectively enabling diners to order from their favorite resort eateries from the tips of their fingers.” Guests can conveniently place orders on their phone with the Grubhub app or by scanning Grubhub QR codes located throughout the property, with the option to pay by room charge or credit card. For deliveries to the pool deck at Resorts World Las Vegas, guests will be able to pick up their order from a secure, QR code-activated restaurant locker, which features touchless opening. Resorts World Las Vegas is the first ground-up resort development to be built on the Las Vegas Strip, opening June 24. 9. Good deal on the new steakhouse. I saw a work crew at the building just the other day walking around taking a survey and lots of activity on the property so I expect construction to begin soon. The new Marriott behind Nick & Sam’s is pretty nice and has a 4th floor infinity style pool deck which has a view of the Maple Terrace property. The area is back to form we just did a dinner at Uchi on Saturday and it was packed along with Uchiba. Gymnast Nastia Liukin was having a fun time at the table next to us.
  10. I’ve played at that MGM in DC a few times. They started out downstairs and then moved to a bigger and nicer space upstairs. Haven’t been in awhile but think they were setting up for a cool sports bar area next to it.
  11. Just about back to normal
  12. After closing in March 2020 when the state shuttered nonessential businesses including restaurants and casinos to prevent the spread of COVID-19, two of the city’s most beloved French restaurants get ready to reopen. Joël Robuchon returns July 1 at the MGM Grand and the more casual workshop L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon reopens on July 15. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon gives diners a front-row seat when they pull up a seat at the bar overlooking the kitchen to watch the artistry of the chefs. Robuchon’s more casual approach to dining offers tapas, a tasting menu, and wines from around the world. Patrons can even order Robuchon’s vision of a burger and snag a taste of his famous mashed potatoes. Jonathan Doukhan, executive chef of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, says his team spent the past year and change coming up with new dishes that transform “commonly used ingredients into dishes never-before-seen at a Robuchon restaurant or elsewhere. The menu is both recognizable and approachable for newcomers, as well as a stimulating challenge for gourmands.” The Le Saint Pierre features John Dory à la plancha on a “sambol” of tomato, confits lime zest, and cilantro puree; Le Grenouillle comes with caramelized frog legs on creamy spelt risotto; and La Framboise brings a white chocolate sphere with fresh raspberry and yuzu ice cream. Diners may sit next to Chuck Norris, one of the celebrity pics that line the opulently decorated space at the grand Joël Robuchon that feels like a cross between the inside of a Faberge egg and the boudoir of Marie Antoinette. The exquisitely crafted fare from the Robuchon returns, including the 15-course degustation menu. It’s French grandiosity meets Asian refinement. Truffled langoustine ravioli in a foie gras sauce, a semi-soft boiled egg on a spinach puree, and Maine lobster in a thinly sliced turnip join roving cheese, bread, and mignardises carts. Do sit in the opulent lounge up front for a glass of Champagne. Christophe de Lellis, executive chef of Joël Robuchon, says his team worked on a menu of beloved dishes for the return, such as Le Caviar Imperial with Osetra caviar served atop king crab in a crustacean gelée dotted with cauliflower puree; La Langoustine with truffled langoustine ravioli served with simmered cabbage and foie gras sauce; and La Rosa, a gelee of Dassai “39” sake topped with white chocolate rose and orange coulis. Both restaurants were part of the Eater 38 when they were open. Robuchon died in August 2018 at age 73 due to complications of cancer. Robuchon earned the title Chef of the Century from Gault Millau in 1987. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/6/17/22538736/joel-robuchon-french-restaurants-reopen-july-las-vegas-strip
