  1. Watch lady strikes again: A Las Vegas woman accused of stealing luxury watches from men she met on the Las Vegas Strip has been arrested again in another theft of a high-end timepiece. Windy Jones, 23, was taken into custody by Las Vegas police on Wednesday. Her latest arrest stems from a man’s contention that Jones stole his Rolex watch, worth $45,000, during a night of drinking on March 31. An arrest report for Jones said the man met a woman named “Sarah” at a cafe inside the Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. S., at 2:30 a.m. The woman said she wanted to have a drink, so they had cocktails, then took a cab to a hookah lounge on South Paradise Road where they drank more cocktails. “From there (he) stated he could not remember much from that point forward,” police said. “He then remembers waking up at the Venetian hotel valet area where security was able to assist him and called medical to assist and transport to an unknown hospital.” The man eventually realized his watch was gone. He told police that the woman was insistent on drinking alcohol that night. He suspects she spiked his drink when he went to use the restroom. Police said they identified Jones as a suspect using security footage from the Wynn. She was observed on camera with a purse that police said she was in possession of at the time of her arrest. She also was identified because she has unique tattoos, police said. This is the third luxury watch theft of which Jones has been accused. In February and March two men reported to police the thefts of watches from their hotel rooms at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in separate incidents. One watch was valued at $45,000. The second was valued at $37,000. In the first case, police were called on Feb. 21 by Cosmopolitan security to the hotel for a man reporting he was “the victim of a grand larceny and possibly being drugged,” police wrote in an arrest report for Jones. The man told police he met a woman named “Rosa” inside the Cosmopolitan near the Vesper bar at the property. He then went to his room with the woman, and they drank margaritas. The man said “he does not remember much of the night due to falling asleep shortly after finishing his margarita,” police said. The man also told police “Rosa may have drugged him.” He awoke the next morning to find $1,500 in cash missing from his wallet. His Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch worth $37,000 also was gone. In the second case, a man told police that on March 24 he met a woman on the Cosmopolitan casino floor. He invited her to his room and ordered room service. He awoke the next day to find his Rolex Daytona watch worth $45,000 and iPhone 12 missing. He also told police he may have been drugged. Jones was arrested in the first two cases by Las Vegas police on April 4. She declined to talk to investigators and asked for a lawyer. In each of the three cases she now faces a single count of felony grand larceny. https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/woman-accused-of-stealing-watches-from-men-on-strip-arrested-again-2336787/
  2. Don’t think so. Wynn has tried to keep pricing up as best they can to allow for a decent customer experience. I haven’t seen any info yet regarding room rate adjustments for Venetian/Palazzo due to the sale. And as you know, the rooms are nice at Venetian/Palazzo. Sometimes pricing dips during a remodel.
  3. My guess is sometime in June. At this point that is the timeline goal to open things back up 100%, based on some vaccine benchmarks/goals. Tentative schedules may be announced soon.
  4. LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – An Uber representative on Wednesday said due to a driver shortage, only about half of the rides requested on the platform right now in the Las Vegas area are being completed, but they are working hard to change that and say they need Governor Steve Sisolak to help. “Right now, Las Vegas is one of the worst, if not the worst, market in the country in the terms of the rider experience,” said Javi Correoso, a spokesperson for Uber. He said the rideshare company is experiencing a driver shortage nationwide, but it’s worse in Las Vegas. “Only about 30% of drivers who were driving in February 2020 have returned,” Correoso said. While supply of drivers is low, the demand for rides is high and continues to get higher, not yet at pre-pandemic levels, but certainly will be soon. “We are starting to get close,” Correoso said. To address the driver shortage nationally, Uber launched its own stimulus last week: $250 million for drivers. The company hopes driving up hourly earnings will keep current drivers, bring back old ones and attract new ones. “In Las Vegas specifically, what that means for drivers as part of this incentive package we are offering hourly earnings of $29.90,” Correoso said. Uber contends Las Vegas drivers are not coming back like in other cities because of local regulations. Sisolak issued an emergency order pausing surge pricing at the beginning of the pandemic that remains in place as Nevada continues to reopen. “Drivers know that when there is a lot of demand, they are going to see higher earnings and by not having that mechanism in place due to local regulations a lot of drivers quite frankly are choosing to stay at home,” Correoso said. Uber says they’ve reached out to Nevada Transportation Authority and Sisolak to address the pricing issues and are hoping there will soon be a change. “If we can’t rely on the same tools that we can rely on in other parts of the country to get drivers back … it is going to continue to be a poor experience for riders,” Correoso said. FOX5 also reached out to Lyft about what they are doing to try and attract more drivers and have not heard back, though according to a message on their platform when you can’t get a ride, they are “working on getting more” drivers on the road. FOX5 also reached out the Nevada Transportation Authority and Sisolak’s office, asking as we continue to reopen when the emergency surge pricing pause may be lifted, and have yet to hear back. https://www.fox5vegas.com/news/uber-only-50-of-rides-requested-in-las-vegas-are-completed/article_7a884bc6-a32d-11eb-98da-bb53aa83cbb0.html

  13. Oh I’ve definitely been at Winstar and seen that happen at a 1/2 game when the security gets involved for some idiot who snakes chips from player next to them. It is pretty rare though. And stupid.
  14. Haha. In all my trips I think I ate once at that PFChangs maybe because I had a gift card I needed to use. Only reason for the update is because it is a big space that sits right on the Strip so it’s noticeable. My go to spots are usually Noodles at Bellagio, Lotus of Siam, and Noodle Asia at Venetian.
  15. Twenty-year veteran P.F. Chang’s returns to the Las Vegas Strip after a five-month renovation of its flagship location at Planet Hollywood Resort. The restaurant spent the majority of 2020 shuttered, first due to the pandemic and later undergoing a pricey remodel of its 10,000-square-foot, two-level space. The flagship for its global restaurant empire allocated an estimated $685,000 in construction costs alone to overhaul the main dining room with multi-level seating for 400 diners, a 20-seat private dining room, and an open-air patio with fire pits facing the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the Bellagio. The menu continues to offer perennial favorites of chicken lettuce wraps, orange beef, and Sichuan shrimp, but the Strip location will introduce “theatre at the table” presentations, allowing customers to upgrade certain entrees and desserts with smoke and fire along with dishes exclusive to Las Vegas later this year. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/4/15/22385634/p-f-changs-reopens-las-vegas-strip-renovation-planet-hollywood-resort
  16. I haven’t been drugged but I was approached inside Pure nightclub long time ago and this chick tried (unsuccessfully thankfully) to steal my Rolex off my wrist after chatting me up for awhile. Good lesson to learn and I bought a Swatch after that trip for all future Vegas trips.
  17. Picture in link at the bottom: Police say a Las Vegas woman who accompanied two men to their Strip hotel rooms stole expensive luxury watches from both in what are believed to be prostitution-related thefts. Windy Rose Jones, 23, was booked Monday at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of felony grand larceny. Arrest reports for Jones indicate she was taken into custody after two men reported to police the thefts of watches from their hotel rooms at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in February and March. “While he and Rosa were in the room waiting on the room service (he) claims that the topic of sex was never on the agenda or part of the conversation,” police wrote in the reports. The man said “he does not remember much of the night due to falling asleep shortly after finishing his margarita,” police said. The man also told police “Rosa may have drugged him.” He awoke the next morning to find $1,500 in cash missing from his wallet. His Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch worth $37,000 was also gone. The man told police the woman had distinctive tattoos, including a lion tattooed on her thigh. In the second case, a man told police that on March 24 he met a woman on the Cosmopolitan casino floor. He invited her to his room and ordered room service. He noticed the woman had a large lion or tiger tattooed on her leg, police said. He awoke the next day to find his Rolex Daytona watch worth $45,000 and iPhone 12 missing. He also told police he may have been drugged. Police said as part of their investigation they examined “multiple photos of Jones from multiple prostitution related ads on the internet.” “The photos showed Jones with a large lion tattoo on her upper leg,” police wrote. Jones was arrested by Las Vegas police April 4. She declined to talk to investigators and asked for a lawyer. Police said in her arrest reports that they documented the existence of a lion tattoo on her leg as part of their investigation. Criminal complaints have not been filed in either case. Jones is currently out of custody. She is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court in both cases in May for a status hearing on the filing of criminal complaints. https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/woman-accused-of-stealing-watches-valued-at-82k-from-men-on-strip-2329917/
