  1. Pfizer shot 1 in the books via CVS. Checked in using iPhone 12 Pro Max by clicking on a link they sent via text. Already had the 5G capability but now I’ve gone plaid. Mild arm soreness disappeared after 1 day.
  2. Restaurant updates (per Eater LV): Best Friend, the Korean barbecue from chef Roy Choi, returns to the dining scene on Friday, March 19. The former Eater 38 restaurant from the star of The Chef Show with Jon Favreau on Netflix temporarily closed his restaurant a year ago when the state ordered all nonessential businesses — including restaurants, bars, and casinos — to shutter to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Park MGM reopened its hotel daily on March 5. Also reopening on Thursday, another member of the Eater 38, Costa Di Mare at Wynn Las Vegas, which temporarily closed on January 4. Here, chef Mark LoRusso brings fresh Mediterranean seafood and Italian cuisine with a pricey menu and über romantic vibe on the patio. Pastas made daily and more than 40 fish flown in from the coast of Italy highlight the menu here. Patrons should splurge on the langoustines in a private cabana, especially if they have an expense account or deep wallet. Patio dining available.
  3. Well that’s a slight disappointment I was more hoping for Fyre Festival Galveston edition
  4. Info on the pop-up Brackets at The Stadium sportsbook at Venetian https://www.casinolifemagazine.com/news/venetian-launches-pop-sports-bar-march-college-basketball-tournaments
  5. Think you said you are staying at Caesars. Would be a great time to enlist a host if you can wrangle one on your behalf to book seats for you at the sportsbook. All the major casino sportsbooks I believe have shifted now to reserving/blocking off/charging money for seats now for big events. And this includes things like a regular Saturday of college football. So that would be my first recommendation. Failing that, see what it would cost to book seats. Lagasse Stadium closed last year, so that’s out. From what I’ve seen, the best new or redone places look to be Circa and Westgate. I would call ASAP and see how it all works for the tournament this year. Previously many of the big places would host big parties in ballrooms. Pick your favorite place and check on that too. Try Cosmo. Last suggestion would be to “slum it” at a smaller locals casino just off the Strip. You might be surprised how much fun that can be. Places like Ellis Island casino or Tuscany Suites. Protip: download the online betting apps (like BetMGM) and sign up for them early. The betting lines get nuts in person.
  6. Cool to see this thread picking up some activity. The leisure traveler is definitely headed back to Vegas soon and the town is also anxiously awaiting more convention business to pick up 2H’21 and into 2022. World of Concrete is one of the first bigger shows to give it a go.
  7. I am not aware of any Strip buffets open at this time. For cheaper golf, try Royal Links Golf Club, about 20 min drive east of the Strip.
  8. Was that a line out of Entourage? From Seth Green to Eric “hey tell Sloan I said what’s up” . . . Sabbatini not so liked on tour. Quite funny.
  9. Couple of Strip casinos back to full time hours
  10. Anyone take the Real Estate law class at UT undergrad? It was under the business school when I took it, taught by a lady with the last name Murray I think. Great class. We had a whole section of study on this topic and it was highly fascinating.
  11. Urban Meyer interview at Sawgrass on golf channel. No update on whether he’s coming to Austin or not.
  12. It has been busy recently as NASCAR just raced in Vegas with fans and pool season is open. They are expecting decent crowds for March Madness as well.
  13. An gonna run out of golf balls
  14. He just posted on snap a video shaking his head and the text was Don’t ask
  15. Nice first round for Phil at -1 good for T-10 at the moment
  16. I’ve tried some hi-low and I hate it. Much prefer the hi only PLO. When you add in the low, it seems to slow the game down on hands when they take forever to figure out who won the low and argue about it as some people don’t understand the rules. And then the chops add up and slow the game down as they figure out quarter pots etc
