  1. The combination of whiffing on recruits and not coaching kids up is startling. Did Shaka get these kids because no other coach thought they were actually good? Does he not player develop? Is it both? What in the fuck is going on? these are thoughts that go through my head from the outside looking in. Which probably means every other person in cbb is wondering the same thing. Which kinda makes Shaka a laughingstock. You don’t want a laughingstock coach. That’s Kevin stallings type shit.
  2. Your BIL looks like a whiny punk bitch.
  3. so let’s say 6500 tickets are always bought. Maybe people aren’t there but football ticket holders buy basketball too (Ku requires this). And let’s say the average face price is $40. If you miss 10k people a game that’s 400k. Say those 10k people spend $10 on food/bev then you’re at 500k a game. Usually about 14-15 home games a season so that’s $7.5M right there. Plus the 6k of people who aren’t spending $10 on a game because the season tickets aren’t showing and that’s another $900k over the season. You’re not far off from the buyout and if you don’t have to pay a second buyout for the next coach then this thing is paid off real quick. the question will be if CDC is doing enough legwork to get private donations for the money. If he can even get $3M then this should be a done deal provided the donors and money people sign off on Matta or Beilein.
  4. He’s just got what Ricky Williams has.
  5. Ou has some tough games left though. They can’t afford a rivalry loss and they definitely can’t afford a loss to TCU or Texas. TCU is 12-4 at home. That’s no easy win. Tech and WVU are likely losses. Then rivalry @OSU and vs. UT. They could go 1-4 down the stretch and miss the tourney. I think they have the hardest road the rest of the way.
  6. Obviously I don’t live it like you guys do, but it still chaps my ass that we lost to Vcu. but the thing that really pisses me off about him is how he always approaches the refs or the court with his hands in his pockets and his elbows sticking out as far as possible. What the fuck even is that??
  7. There cannot be more than 200. I’d like to see the middle of the first half. What does the FEC hold?
  8. Any idea what actual attendance was?
  9. looking at the schedule, I don’t want to say it was a must win but it was damn close to a must win for tech last night. Especially if they want to be above the 7 line. They’ve got 20 wins on the schedule without the big12 tourney so they’ll likely get to 21 or 22 but a bad loss to state, then maybe the momentum shifts and they end up with 18 wins going into the big12. That would mean there are a couple of bad losses and they really need to make a run to solidify anything better than an 11. Good win but this conference is doing everything it can to cut it close on tourney teams. oklahoma looks like they’re going to end up on the high side of the bubble going into the conference tourney with 19 wins. They lose one and they’ll be really needing some wins.
  10. Lost some money on that. +400 for duke at half. Figured they’d cut it to 10 in the first couple of minutes but they couldn’t hit anything. State couldn’t miss.
  11. have we talked about pending free agency yet? With the immediately eligible rule for all players a KU player could have played against WVU this year and then transferred to WVU to play against Ku later in the year. Am I missing something here? The ncaa is against NIL because it will destroy college athletics but they are for letting kids go anywhere at any time for any reason? I’m for kids being able to transfer for various reasons but you at least have to make the sit out.
  12. Could be brutal news, but maybe they rework his contract so if he leaves he doesn’t get his money or not is offset instead of guaranteed. Would love him in the big12.
  13. 275 is if I really reach back and touch it. 250 is plenty too but if I had an easy swing driver that could consistently hit 275 or more then I want it. There are a few holes I play where a standard 3 wood won’t quite get me to the corner and I’m a 4 iron in. I don’t like that. that being said, I haven’t had a driver in 10+ years so I don’t care if I have one if I can be lethal with a quiver of wedges. I need that part of my game so badly that I dream about it. I was literally banging a girl Saturday night and thinking about how I bladed a 90 yard shot over hole 3 only to not get up on the dance floor from 15 yards away. I almost went soft thinking about that 1 putt bogey. Think how hard I would get putting for eagle on that hole?
  14. I’m trying to get used to competition because I like getting in money games. I also want to learn to handle the pressure so I can be in the big club events and not choke when 100 people are watching. My 3 wood is 250-275 depending on how well I tag it. My 4 is pretty good for 220. I’m thinking about reworking my wedges and really learning full swing distances. Right now I use the 53 for everything not in the sand which restricts my ability to really have a great and consistent short game when I’m down to 125 and in.
  15. We had 4 skins piled up, music blaring, $20 a man on the line. I go to the tee and one guy says “he’s going to screw this up like he always does” and the next guy goes “he’s walking like a zombie. He doesn’t give a shit about anything. This is going down the middle.” I piped it. Made putts. Had a good tee game (only hit 3 fairways but was never far off or in trouble). Need to get a driver that I can hit further than my 3 wood. Need to get the short game in order then I’ll be going low.
  16. My bag: rocketballZ 3 wood 4-G cobra tec 2019 forged irons with kbs shafts callaway 52 Degree with kbs shaft bent to 53 callaway 56 degree with kbs shaft bent to 57 ping anser putter Ive got room for 2 more clubs but don’t know where to go. Hopping on a trackman soon to space my clubs and make some decisions.
  17. My biggest enemy on the course is my own head. I play great by myself and in a very casual setting and play like shit in a competitive situation. Played 18 Saturday and shot a 96. Played the same front 9 on Sunday with the same people but smoked about 2 hits from a vape. I played great shooting a 41. Had 4 bad short game shots that might have cost me a PR on 9. Granted the lies are really tight on the packed and dormant Bermuda at my course but I think I might have found something. I need to smoke a little dope. Even when major skins were on the line I was a zombie approaching the ball. Loved every second of it.
  18. either either way, our defense is the elite of the elite. Baylor has a great defense, ours is borderline generationally great.
  19. All of their jerseys are rough on the eyes it seems.
  20. I was referring to when he said that the effort from the higher level talent isn’t as high as he expects. It’s a different coaching challenge. One that guys with major chips on their shoulders don’t present all the time.
  21. Roy has had a couple of head scratching years but they usually come right after a few run or a championship. This year looks epically bad and his best guy is going to leave for the nba. He’s got 3 five star and 2 four star kids coming next year but Jesus. If they aren’t ready to play immediately he might feel like he has lost his edge given his personality. I’m not saying people will call for his head, but Roy has always be “woe is me” and two bad years in a row with little bright spots will wear on him big time. oh yeah... selection Sunday a few weeks out. Get hype.
  22. I can tell you that Chris beard is having problems now that he is getting big talent. Ku fans hated the one and dones because we never got a championship. It’s a different game coaching kids that have everything given to them than kids who have to work for it. Sometimes you find a talented kid that is raw and had to work for it. Those are winning components that stick around to build chemistry. Which wins big. I can’t wait for Saturday. I’m hopeful Ku can win it and get At least a share of the conference crown to start a new streak.
  23. Everyone knows winning streaks don’t last forever. Coaches don’t want their guys complacent. I hate the big12 tourney because it always feels like we are playing for our spot on the 1 or 2 line. A last chance tourney to get into the tourney should effect the top teams but it does. I hate having a big win streak going into the dance but damn I love winning.
  24. Drew deserves every coach of the year award. He is actually coaching up guys people thought didn’t deserve to play and the chemistry seems great. This is the year to get past the E8 but the truth is it only takes 1 team shooting 60% from 3 to knock you out. KU has been chosen to win it by no less than 5 experts every year it seems since self got to KU. Then faroukmanesh strolls in and you don’t get within 17 all game. Winning it all isn’t a measure of success but damn it sure feels good. Having your team in the conversation each year is how you measure success.
