  1. It seems like all of your guards are 160 pounds. They must have paid Hudy a ton to steal her from KU.
  2. The difference is that Baylor is having an off game. Shaka is probably having his second best coaching game since he got to Texas.
  3. Loved frans comment about Texas can win if they execute on offense. When has Texas executed on offense the last 5 years?
  4. CDC isn’t doing what he is paid to do. That’s for sure. He might be sitting back thinking “fuck, I left a kush job for high profile and now I have to make 3 decisions in 2 years that might kill my career”. Talking Herman, Shaka, Herman. He fires Shaka and he better pray that Herman gets it done in the fall. He doesn’t fire Shaka and he better pray Herman gets it done AND Shaka gets it done. On top of that, what if he fires Shaka and the replacement sucks just as bad and then he has to fire Herman??? his only way out of this mess is to fire Shaka, make a great hire with immediate results (even just a ncaa berth) and then hope to god Herman doesn’t get himself fired. It seems he’s more comfortable just sitting than making these big decisions.
  5. Outside looking in, I felt like everyone knew he was destined for the NBA so there was going to be no hard feelings. Obviously round 2 would mean you expect him for life and to not use you as a stepping stone. i think he could be successful in this league because of him knowing the cultures and being a part of it. He’d be fine with transfers and he’d also probably be the only coach with the weight to clean house coming in day one.
  6. What are the chances the mayor might return? Would ISU want him? Would he want to come back?
  7. Gives prohm some cover in my mind. He’s got to be on a blazing hot seat next season right?
  8. Thinking about it, offer Mack and Altman. Then figure it out from there with mussleman.
  9. Even offering a national championship winning coach is worthless and if it gets out then you look desperate. I know you kinda are desperate but you don’t want it known that your actual hire is 6th in the list. That sets a tone that Texas is dead. Even if it is, that tells recruits to stay away because you as a program aren’t even happy with your coach. It’s just a bad way to set the culture. Bennett and Wright aren’t going anywhere. Especially since they have recently won championships. Howland wouldn’t be terrible but he’s getting old. Hamilton is in his 70s. Beard has proven he can win at tech and now the recruits are coming in. He needs a few years to cool off before he would be convinced he has to move to win. If UL was given a harsh penalty then Mack would be the guy. I think you’re going to arky or maybe somewhere like Creighton if things get dicey. That would be a shit hire though. Marshall would rub fans the wrong way real quick. He’s basically the bo pelini of basketball and his wife gets so drunk at games she gets kicked out. another bad thing about it getting out that the top 3 reject you is that you’re going to be deleveraged in your negotiation with the guy you do get. Imagine getting Shaka 2.0 and having to pay him even more because he knows you don’t really like him.
  10. Have to think mussleman is the most obvious and available candidate. Beard, Bennett, and wright are an absolute pipe dream. Mussleman is cocky enough to jump to a rival and bigger job. No chance arky could hold onto him.
  11. Our outside shooting is pretty weak, streaky at best. Our D will keep us in any game unless we falter on the outside shooting defense. Then we’re screwed.
  12. All of cbb is down. 100% agree. This is a year that the league could have really shined, especially in the tourney. It’s unfortunate that we aren’t going to have that opportunity. this is the type of year where a Maryland type team wins it. Have to think that if few doesn’t get it done this year then he never will. Bilas said this is KUs best chance in the last 10 years. Have to think that goes for absolutely everyone except duke honestly.
  13. Not a chance haha. I think Baylor and KU will be close on 1s. Wvu isn’t a 2. Depth of the league is shit.
  14. I'm going to check out the Massey Ratings on the rest of the regular season. I think there is a legit chance we only have 3 teams finish with more than 18 wins. Would be interesting to see how Massey projects things out in each head to head the rest of the year.
  15. It’s a weird thing to me. When I was playing 845s with an offset I felt like I capped out my potential. Switched to Cleveland TA2s and got to shape some shots. Then lost the touch and went back to a ping cavity back game improvement. Once again, feeling like I couldn’t get better (especially with long irons) I got fitted and ended up with the forged cobras which I absolutely love from top to bottom. My scores are getting better with playing more but my shot shape is good and consistent and 10x more repeatable than my pings. Irons a fucking weird.
  16. That is dope. Was thinking about buying one but got the Ewheels V2 instead. Should be interesting for those cart path only days. successful trip to Scottsdale. 97 on troon hurt me. 91 from the tips on the Faldo course at wildfire. 89 at Mesa country club. I’m starting to like the new GHIN app. Looks like it updates every night at midnight. I’m down to a 13.0 after bouncing up to 13.6 from ending 2019 at 13.1. My lowest handi ever. I’m pissed about Mesa. I had 15 feet for birdie on a par 3. The pin was up against a cliff. I rolled it 2 feet by which became 15 feet and up a massive slope on the fairway. 5 putts to get down from 15 feet. If my tee game was even halfway what it usually is and I don’t lose my shit on that hole then I’m probably in 82-83 territory. It wasn’t tough but it was a fun course. Not traditional desert which was nice after losing balls at troon. My skytrak isn’t connecting to my sim anymore so that is getting sent in today if I have time to mail it out. I’ve got probably 2000 balls hit this winter and now 6 rounds in. With the handicap headed down I’m well on my way to my goals. My tee game has been shit for the most part so lessons are due there which will also get me a driver swing so I can get fitted for a good club there. Great start to the year for me.
  17. Tech also had a guy who could just get buckets last year.
  18. The chiefs window is up after they pay Mahomes. I think they make a good run next year and then spend 4-5 years being a playoff team that loses in the first or second round. incredible how many close calls won that game. Sherman really showed his ass in that game. Mahomes showed some touch he hasn’t showed much this year on the deep ball.
  19. I spent years with a power fade (mid 20's) and then it went to shanks and a very weak cut with a slice miss. Finally got to the point where every club i hit went about 150. Found a coach and told him I had never held a club but was a quick learner. Grip being strong was huge. Then it was about engaging my back and starting my downswing with a turn of the hips. I can hit all kinds of draws now and unless it is a straight up push and timing issue, I don't miss right. The trouble you'll have is the "more is better" problem. When I'm off, I hit a BIGGGGG draw. It isn't a hook but it is a 20 yard draw. Goes far as hell, just impossible to dial back. I find that I have to bring my swing back from being too shallow (sometimes I stand closer and more upright to fix it) and I also weaken my grip a bit. With short game, I still have a strong grip but I really lay the club face back. Its the only way I can keep from a little scoop that doesn't jump left off the club face. When my short game was on last year I dropped 6 strokes in 30 days. During the winter rounds I'm having a hell of a time getting any consistency with the short game but I have patience given the bermuda in Tulsa is dormant and like hitting off a tile floor near the green. It'll come back... I hope.
  20. Here’s the thing about Missouri... it’s the people. They’re terrible. Everyone in Missouri is only looking out for themselves. Especially STL and Columbia. They are always scheming to get a win and make sure the other team loses in all aspects of life. I’ve done 3 real estate deals in MO and in each of them the people on the other side are so intent on a win/lose outcome that it ALWAYS bites them in the ass. Further, they have no loyalty. They will ride someone’s coattails all the way to the finish line and then act like they were the ones who won the race. Give no credit to anyone that probably did more to get them there than they did themselves. this creates a unique problem. MU fans leave MU (if the even ever graduated high school) and they NEVER give back or support the school financially. The well known pitch on why KU went to the orange bowl and MU didn’t was because our AD showed the MU record when travel was required for a game. MU grads leave the school and instantly believe that they would be successful (if they are) regardless of their education. They don’t think MU did anything for them. So of course this attitude permitted the decision making of the school. They leave the big 12 because the conference has never done anything for them. They don’t budget they don’t look at logistics, they just look at a paycheck that is so far away they don’t realize they will be so set back in their cash flow for 3-4 years that they can’t recover. MU makes bad decisions because their drive by alumni base pines for it because they are so self centered and arrogant that they can’t see past their own nose. The glory in all of this is the attitude of the alum has turned to “well the school made a bad decision, why should I support them?” Which only compounds the problem. I’m hopeful the whole system has to shut down.
  21. What in the hell? I lived there from 2009-2011. It was awesome as an early 20-something. Always something to do. I lived down in the marina and then in north beach. Loved every second of it. The place had literal human shit on the sidewalks back then. Downtown, nob hill, the mission district, parts of the Castro, and most definitely SOMO and the tenderloin were absolute dumps. The city on the whole is dirty as fuck if you’re anywhere near downtown or market street.
  22. Sans Baylor, the lower half of the league beat their higher in the standings competition on Wednesday. The league is wayyyy down this year.
  23. Appreciate it. I looked back and I've played the Talon course at GrayHawk. Should probably just play the Raptor and get the facility knocked out. I play Troon North every time I'm in the area so I'd personally like a little bit of variety. We're set up on the Faldo course at desert ridge on Sunday before the SB. Have waste management set up for saturday's event. Going to be a nice little week. Clients head out on Tuesday, I'm playing tuesday and wednesday then headed out. For the record, this trip will get me to 6 rounds before the 2nd weekend in february assuming I don't play again this week. Checks off one of my goals. Won $50 yesterday in a game. Played great until hole 15. Absolutely blew up and went 10 over in the last 4 holes. Won the game for my team on hole 1 in overtime with an absolutely striped 3 wood, out driving everyone by 25 yards to 71 out. Little abbreviated 53* wedge to 12 feet for an easy par, net bird. The redemption felt nice but I need to really figure out how to chill when you have a team dormie with 4 left to play.
  24. Alright... taking some clients to Scottsdale in a week. What should we play monday? Troon North GrayHawk (specify Talon or Raptor) Boulders Other (please specify) I've played all but boulders. Quintero is too far away for me to have a monday meeting and then make an 11:30am tee time. Not worried about price at all. Clients have played all courses listed. Please help.
