I champion it a lot, but honestly Billy's is your answer here. Billy's Philly is outstanding. Not sure about pitchers of beer, but they have a wide beer selection including lots of local options.
Nevermind. Just saw you're in Houston and not Austin
Jeffrey's and Barley Swine should be automatic. Even though Uchi is outstanding I have a hard time seeing a CenTex sushi oriented joint getting a start for the reasons outlined.
and for fun they should give one to Billy's on Burnet since every redditor in Austin has just recently discovered it.
Article in the ABJ today about Esther's Follies which has now been around for 47 years. Haven't been since mid-2010s, but definitely need to get back. Shannon Sedwick and the rest of the cast are insanely talented and Austin is fortunate to have had them around for so long.
[Rant] Whataburger Digital Kitchen in Westlake took the BLT on Texas Toast off the menu. It was one of the best BLT's around. Thank God for Texas Honey Ham's version. [Rant]
I got nothing to add to this except the first time my Mom came to visit me after I moved to Austin in the 80s and was living on Shoal Creek she thought the sign said "Panty Barn". So my wife and I have called it that for years.
We drove over the Inks lake bridge on 29 in December of 1991. Buchanan had almost all of their gates open. The bridge was literally shaking. Let's do that again.
I've poked around a little bit on Centerpoint's webpage, but haven't been able to locate any sort of outage map. Does something like that exist? My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live in Timbergrove and lost power during the storm. They drove up to Austin yesterday to wait for power to get reconnected.
Stumbled upon this one on my morning walk today. Was looking down at my phone when I noticed movement in front of me. He was getting out of the way from me quicker than I got away from him.
I'm a total novice. Thinking about taking my son (26) and son in law (33) also novices, to the coast for a fishing weekend. Thinking more bay fishing for trout and redfish then offshore. Broad question I know, but best place for that during the summer? Guide recommendations who will furnish all gear and bait also appreciated. Thanks.
