  1. 6 in the coaches poll, Bama is 10, aggy is 30
  2. It’s also a Ramada. Not sure what you expected
  3. I've has season tickets for over 30 years, and went to games before that as a student. I've sat in some brutally hot games in every section of the stadium. Around 3 years ago I sacrificed sitting on the 45 in the west upper deck for sitting on the goal line under the west side deck in the shade. Not as great a view but I had no issue in the heat on saturday.. When I die, y'all ought to look into trying to get my seats in section 9.
  4. We have played Bama 5 times in my lifetime. I've been to 2 of those games. We lost both. I'm not going to this weekend's game.
  5. Got an email a few minutes ago that manufacturing and production delays are causing us not to get the brand new 2023 season ticket setbacks for this season. LHF says it's going to give us the old setbacks and refund us the increase in price. Anyone else get that? I wonder if it's for everyone or just the poors like me sitting in the poor sections.
  6. Many years ago on one of the now defunct Longhorn message boards, somebody said "aggys were the greatest unintentional comedians of all time," or something to that effect. Truer words have never been spoken. "Ignoring the athletic record for a minute" should read "ignoring the athletic record for over 100 years."
  7. The original was one of the best shows ever. This, not so much. The whole "you can't go home again" theme of the original is so much better that the "fish out of water" theme of this one. The original's characters were much more interesting. And any show that has Neil Mcdonough in it as a psycho bad guy is probably going to be awesome. Great underrated character actor.
  8. I know that the boundaries for civility on this website are pretty much non-existent, but this is beyond vicious.
  9. Thought about it, but probably won't. There isn't that much room for that. Besides, I'm old, I'd probably die of heat stroke.
  10. I put a 240 outlet in my garage and use the mobile charger. Split charging time between my Model 3P and her Model YLR. Problem with the mobile charger is that when the unit gets hot, which it seems to more so during the summer months, charging may not complete. I have to reset the circuit breaker to get it running again.
  11. Bumping again. Sauna arrived on June 22. I've had it for almost 3 weeks and other than during a long weekend trip to Vegas last weekend, I've used it almost every day. I'm impressed. For a less-expensive infrared model that most "real" sauna enthusiasts seem to look down on, I'm enjoying it. It gets pretty hot and I sweat buckets in it. I come out feeling pretty good and have been sleeping better. I'm finding that if I don't concentrate on staying hydrated during the day and especially when I'm inside it, there can be a bit of a hangover feeling the next day. Whether I'm going to live longer and improve my immune system I can't say at this point. Overall, glad I made the purchase. One additional benefit of it is that it gives me 30 minutes of conversation with my wife (YMMV on that benefit depends on how well you get along with your spouse, LOL). We tend to go do our own things after she gets home from work and we've had dinner, this kind of forces us to spend some additional quality time together talking.
  12. I gave up upper deck chair back seats on the 40 to sit lower level at the beginning of the endzone under the overhang. Shade after 1030am. Too old to roast in the direct sun for 4 hours. Probably going to die at the ou game this year from the heat, hopefully after we hang 49 on them again this year.
  13. Damn, I saw this and got nervous cuz I didn’t see an email with my time slot. I checked a few minutes ago and my selection date is July 18. I’m like “WTF???” Then I realized that I’m not part of the Surly 1% so I have to pick with the rest of the rabble.
  14. Bumping. I ordered a 2 person Dynamic Sauna from Wayfair. It was the best price I could find for that model online and I got an additional 10% off as a first-time customer. Paid for it with gift cards I bought online at Staples.com with my Chase Biz card so almost 10K Chase Rewards points. Apparently Dynamic Sauna its owned by Golden Design which markets several different lines of saunas and is the leading seller in the world. Supposed to get here between June 21-29, so I'll report back after it arrives and I've taken a couple of shvitzes.
  15. Ugh, Rice at 230pm. Brutal. I worked EMS at a few of the games my senior year in 1987. Those early September day games we'd be carting out a bunch of old guys wearing those polyester burnt orange sports jackets. Now that I'm old like them I've got evaporative cooling towels, a bucket hat, moisture wicking t-shirts, etc. And it doesn't hurt to have season tickets in the shade under the west side upper deck.
  16. If anyone made a copy of that thread, I would love to see it again. We all love aggy suffering, but that was the epitome of it. Every post you could feel their pain as the damn sips headed closer and closer to the promised land. I remember one or two in the seconds before VY scored beseeching the almighty to let USC make the stop.
  17. I did that when I got back from Pasadena, there was one particular game watching thread that was one of the most fun things I've ever read. You could sense the growing feeling of impending doom with every post as we clawed our way back. I wish somebody had copied that thread, they took it down at some point.
  18. I've seen you guys there before as well when we used to park there. My time slot was 1255 today. Couldn't find the seats I wanted to upgrade to and had to settle for Trinity Garage. Was hoping to get LBJ lots.
  19. Did you buy the plans or find them online somewhere?
  20. I know the guy is fucking nuts at times but I would probably take him serious as far as health goes. Dude is 55 years old and ripped.
  21. Seeing impressive claims online about the benefits of saunas for longevity, immune system improvement, weight training gains, inflammation, etc. by people like Joe Rogan and Andrew Huberman. Tried one while in Budapest last week and although it wasn't a pleasant experience, I felt great afterwards. So now I'm thinking about taking the plunge. We just became empty-nesters so only plan on being in this house for 6 months to a year longer, so a permanent installation isn't desirable. Also, don't have much space in any of our bathrooms without doing a serious remodel. I have a home gym so joining one isn't really what I want to do just for this purpose. So, some type of portable or easy to build and take apart model would be good. Also, infrared v. steam?

    49-0

Of all the great Horn plays I've seen live, the Bomar hit was one of the greatest, it ranks up there with Vince's 4th and 5. I was sitting at the top of the lower level in the end zone, you could hear the crunch all the way up there when he got hit. I seriously thought he was going to be leaving on a cart.
